I have no doubt that the Athenas are phenomenal lenses for the price (now I would go for the Dzofilm Arles, instead) and your work is technically remarkable BUT, man, this is more a Nisi commercial than any other thing.
I bought the kit myself. Wanted to make a cool video about them🤷♂️
This was a masterpiece ❤
🙏
Loved the video mate. Told the story without a huge amount of technical overwhelming info.. just showing how they performed which I liked. I went and did a lens test of these at the NiSi distributor here in Australia, and the footage was superb, although I found tended toward the golden tones - technically very sharp lenses. I decided to go the Meike FF primes with PL and the drop in filters - and while I don't think they are as good as the NiSi - especially the higher T-Stops are annoying especially filming with the S5iix crop 60p in low light makes the noise more prominent, but I was able to get an extra lens for the price of the NiSi - and I'm NOT a pro videographer, and probably have no business even owning these as I just shoot crappy youtube videos - and who knows, I may still buy a set as I really like how they look such a clean image. Your project looks cool too BTW - I'll be following your progress.
They are pretty sweet. I get it sometimes I even have to hold myself back when it comes to gear. It's like I want that but do I really need it? That's good that you recognize that actually haha
Nice work! Love what you're doing. These lenses are amazing
Thanks! Excited to see where things go
LOVE what you're doing. And, thanks for the shout-out. You do amazing work, and these lenses are so cool!
So when it this movie or series coming out from the example footage? I am curious to see more.
Currently is a pilot episode. We're shooting the rest in April. More info will be coming this month and teasers in the videos
Great work, Dustin! Looking forward to shooting the next series!!! 👍🏼🎬😎
Me as well!
Definitely like watching a Phillip Bloom video. I know how much work goes in to editing these kinds of video. Keep it up!!!
That's a name I haven't heard in a minute haha. I never really watched his stuff. I think the only one I watched was the Sony A7s video he made. That was a long time ago😂 thank you though!
Nice work! Well done
Thank you!
Beautiful work.
Thank you🙏
Nicely done! Gorgeous images! (That salt flats shot towards the end was PHENOMENAL - of course, I'm a noob so what do I know, I just like it :) ). Yeah I've been with ya since way back (can anyone say S1H?) ...
Thank you! That was from the Dulens review video if you haven't watched that yet (salt flats) and want to see more. I appreciate it! Hopefully they got some new stuff coming soon....😶
@@DustinArmstrongPro checkin' out the Dulens review now! Thanks! Can you tell me what filters and settings (the important ones) you used?
No problem! I was using a 1/8th mist filter on the example footage and was in BRAW on the S5IIX. The Dulens review also was in BRAW but no mist filter.
which three lenses would you suggest to buy first?
Probably depends what you're shooting. They have more focal lengths now, but I feel like 25, 50, and 85 or 100 would be pretty ideal
@@DustinArmstrongPro alright I will get the 25 and 50 next month. im in asia so i can get each one around 1000
The amount of videos I have seen about these lenses…I’ve wanted them for months I’m slowly saving up these videos keep reminding me and I’m like I know I know they’re incredible 😂
They'll be waiting for you when you're ready
These things are 6 to 7 grand a set. Definitely for the pro's.
That's only $1200 per lens which to me is a reasonable price for a great set of cine lenses
Exactly. Legit pro lenses like cooke start at 8k each so 6K for the whole set is great. Im still rockin those Dulens vintage lens thanks to you. But these will be next lol
I'm doing a comparison of the two! Love them both will be using both for the foreseeable future for now
I've arranged for a special deal on these lenses with Nisi!! 20 sets avail at a BIG percentage off!!!
Nice! Hope you enjoy!
Chinese lenses has one weakness, bokeh, while everything is great, their bokeh is just not on par, I bought the NiSi and luckily I managed to sell it at $200 loss. I got the Cooke SP3 instead (only have 3 lenses for now, I bought 1 lens at a time), while the Nisi is better at focus breathing, sharper and faster. I just like the look of the SP3 more. Though it costs more, it's not unattainable. Like with everything, YMMV.
The cooke SP3s are 4x more expensive. And I agree that the cookes have a very unique distinct look, 21k vs 6k is a very big difference
@@DustinArmstrongPro 21k for the entire set is somewhat attainable most photographer lenses that cost more than that, for me i bought 1 at a time, more times than not you won't need all the focal length, I have the DZO vespids while building my SP3 set up. Between DZOfilm and the Nisi, for me personally, I would rather go for the DZOfilm, I feel that the look of the NiSi is like photography lens but with bad bokeh in a cine glass body. Though I must say the Nisi has excellent focus breathing. I use 25mm and 35mm alot and these 2 lenses are the weakest in the set. So the set is definitely not for me. YMMV.
why lens review is that dramatic lol
