- Korgonthurus isn't the most active black metal band coming from Finland. After 20 years it's time for their third album called "Kuolleestasyntynyt". What does that album mean and is it any good? Jerry talks these things on this video.
1. Kuolleestasyntynyt
2. Tuhontuoja
3. Syyttäjäenkeli
4. Riivattu
5. Yön lapsi
6. Nox

Just gave the first listen and so far this is probably my favorite extreme metal album of the year; I’m absolutely in love with the atmosphere, the riffs, the vocals, the production and just the overall soundscape. Killer record
A great album. More similar to their second full-length, but still with its own distinctive stuff. Another impressive work by Korgonthurus.
This album, and the Corvus vocals, reminds me to Sanojesi Äärelle !
Appreciate your channel for helping with pronunciation of band/album names
Thanks. If there is anything I can do more with that, just let me know!
@@RautaMetal Haha yeah, just noticed after the video that I've been mispronouncing Horna all these years, even if it's just the r
Have this pre-ordered. Gonna be good.
Just got mine along with marras. I forgot I bought the digipack. The art inside the book is fantastic.
I really enjoyed the cold and harsh sound of the previous album from 2016. Even though it might not have been a masterpiece, there's something about those less known bands that I prefer in comparison to the big names. Thanks for the review, looking forward to get my pre-ordered copy soon as well.
My pleasure! Glad you liked it!
I admit I'm a total fanboi for this band (even visiting steelfest just to see them, while totally missing the azazel shitshow) but I seriously can't imagine any other albums this year taking the album of the year spot for me. Their songwriting evolves with every release and even the marras rerelease reflects that.
BTW, the last split up was actually more severe. Before the split Corvus was also in Totalselfhatred and members from Totalselfhatred were in Korgonthurus for the Vuohen Siunaus era. After some kind of shitstorm they totally split ties, so it was a great relief that Corvus & Kryth would at least continue making new music.
Thumb 39 Jerry 🤗 I actually like this band and album a lot, that Corvus is like a possessed screeching crow, makes big impression on me. Greetings!
I heard this album and I agree, something magical is definitely missing. I speak from a true finnish black metal fan. Antimateria being my favourite so far (despite only one album).
Can clearly hear the finnish style and relation to Horna sound. And thats good. I like it!
Another solid Finnish Black Metal act. Funnily enough, Horna also has a song entitled 'Tuhontuoja' from Corvus era.
Maybe he didn't remember that? Or then this is an homage to it?
@@RautaMetal It's not an homage to it, but Tuhontuoja by Horna is a homage because it uses the Born For Burning riff by Bathory. Sorry if this is confusing.
@@marshallore6869 Ah okay.
@@RautaMetal Pretty generic title actually. Sielunvihollinen also has such a songtitle.
Just listened to it. It's a nice balance between atmospheric and raw, good riffs with a strange groove to it. Will check out there other releases. Just got a ticket to see Behexan and Sargeist in London i think Rauta is turning everyone Finnish. Take care Mate.
Oh no, more Finnish? That would be a disaster (except for saunas for they are good)!
Enjoy your Finnish bm in London! Have a great weekend!
Yön lapsi is the best song on this album imo
vuohen siunaus on raainta ja parasta mustaa metallia mitä tullu aikoihin!!odotan tältäkin paljon mutta luulen että vuohen siunaus tulee jäämään parhaaksi korgonthurukseksi!!??
