I think this is something more Singaporeans should do more often. I have one or two relatives who might think pottering as "wah, you so much free time ah?", but I don't think so. One thing money can't buy is time and relaxation. If life is all about the money grind, by the time you're too frail, you'll regret having never had time to try out these things in life. Life is very short after all. Keep up with these amazing posts!
This is my favourite thing to do. I rode around Melbourne for hours without a destination or goal. I just follow the paths wherever they go. Cycling around provides great people watching and gives me connection to the city.
Great video (again) 11:53 This is an excellent habit and a crucial skill for road cyclists. Looking back repeatedly ensures you're aware of approaching vehicles, minimizing the risk of collisions and signals to oncoming drivers that you intend to move across the lane. This often prompts them to slow down and provide ample clearance, enhancing your safety significantly."
Ah yes... Kotono Grace. No wonder the word pottering sounded so familiar. lol. Would love to potter around Singapore one day. Running out of roads here in Penang. haha
A lovely chill video. And congratulations on surviving the Nicholl Highway/Guillemard Road/Mountbatten Road ocean of asphalt! What a horrific and unnecessarily huge junction it is.
nice video work. have you looked at getting a helmet mount or chest mount for the cam? is safer. you may even look for one that has face tracking and will pan as you bike around.
I've subscribed for some time now but only now I clicked on your video and am pleasantly surprised you cycled to my neighbourhood in bedok 😂 Great vid!
happened to learn Kotono's pottering a few days ago and always like the term Go Where the Wind Blows, gave better suggestions than those "experts" hired by lta, bike on!
what bike you use bro? i wanna sell off my MTB cus i feel like "too old" for it and just want a good dutch bike for commuting(or to try out this pottering you're doing).
Obviously don't do it on a sunny day at noon lah, do it on cloudy days and rest whenever you feel too warm. How else do you think people play basketball/football in Singapore? Just tahan lor. You just get used to it as you get fitter.
When you cycle, there is wind After you cycle, take a shower Don't wear long sleeves Walk outside already hot also. Sometimes cycling is better too. If you have a sedentary lifestyle, only wanna be lazy at home, don't begrudge others if they wanna cycle lol
It was a bit rough at first but once you get used to it you get used to it. Just don’t wait at red traffic lights in the middle of overbuilt junctions - like you see the uncle in the video waiting in the shade a bit before the signal. The gov really needs to put shade close to pedestrian crossings. Not everyone is in an air conditioned box!

that collapsing umbrella move to chucking it in the cargo rack to turning left hand signal is ninja commuter stuff

The Geylang park connector is really great, especially in the area between Mountbatten and Gueillemard!
Great video! What a lovely day you had

Pottering sound a lot like being a flâneur, which is a term which has been around for a while. Anyway good video. The food looks great.
Hey, “A Young-Old Person” in the US, we call that someone with an “Old Soul.”
Hi 👋 what camera were you using for this? The video quality is 🔥

Refer to his previous video. It's a city bike with a 3-speed internal gear hub and coaster brake
Get the latest Pinarello or Cervelo. Nothing less than 60mm deep carbon wheels
I dont get how people can do this in singapore, the weather is too goddamn hot
