My theory about the the alien blasters and fallout New Vegas only having one even though they're three aliens is that the aliens came to visit the New Vegas strip and gambled away their alien blasters thus causing them have to use laser guns
15:06 the reason why could be because the zetans knew that humans would shoot down their scouting-crafts so they decided to make their new alien blaster's cartridges be similiar to small energy cells so when a scouting zetan crashes, it wouldn't be much of a problem to get ammo for the gun.
Fun fact about the Wild Wasteland encounter in New Vegas: if you snipe the alien captain from afar where he can't notice you, the other aliens will remain neutral to you when you approach them.
Elijahs Jurry Rigged Cannon is probably misleading. Its not Jurry Rigged in the sense he Built a Tesla canon from scrap but instead He Built a Tesla cannon from the base of the Tesla Prototype. But made significant changes to it. So While its basically a different weapon. A Fully designed Tesla cannon from him may pretty much be a Tesla Cannon 3.0.

I like to think that the fallout 3 and 4 alien blasters were created by 2 seperate Zetan factions, and the fallout 1 and 2 blaster was created by rogue Zetans working with the enclave at area 51. Also I think the fallout 1 alien blaster was modelled after the cotton candy ray gun from "Killer klownz from outer space".
I have so much fun in the Zeta DLC. Because up to that point, I always save my fat man ammunition. Can you imagine my lone wanderer having a complete disregard for his and other safety by employing a dangerous weapon in confined spaces?.
The image used in the design document for Fallout Brotherhood of Steel 2's Tesla cannon is very reminiscent and might actually just be a picture of Boba Fett's blaster rifle. Known to the Star Wars fandom as the EE-3 carbine rifle.
Euclidean C Finder has another reference. That being the "C Finder" part. When Finding the third point of a triangle, the 2 known points are known as points A & B, and you use them to find point C. By far one of my favorite references for a math nerd like me
I am fairly confident in saying that the Tesla Rifle is actually a Robobrain arm-mounted weapon. In the Automatron DLC, all variants of Robobrain besides the Cybermech Robobrain have a 'Lightning Gun' on one of their arms. Basic, Servomech and Integrated Robobrains have it on their left arm, and Quantum Robobrains have it mounted on their right.
I remember finding the Firelance on a raider outside the super duper mart which at the time I thought was really weird cause I don’t remember hearing or seeing a ufo crash
Unlicensed nuclear core makes me think it might be a reference to Ghostbusters where Ray refers to the proton packs as unlicensed nuclear accelerators. Maybe that’s a stretch but that’s what popped in my mind.

I think the Alien blaster is inspired by the Buck Roger's desintegrater pistol. It's from the 30s-40s, so it makes sense. It's referenced in the movie Red Tails, and is the name of a plane, piloted by 2nd Lt. Raymond "Ray Gun" Gannon Jr. Hope this helps

In regards to the fusion cell mod for the alien blaster, maybe your character has to modify fusion cells by putting them into alien power cell-shaped ammo to get the blaster to work.

Yep, it's pretty obvious even with just a small glance at the Robobrains in the Mechanist's lair. Since they're the ones it came from, you can even use the Automatron robot workbench to make your own robots that have the exact same Tesla rifle.

I can't find any comments about of sonic emitter design. I was really shocked when u didn't find aspirations because it's a really bold Doctor Who reference. One of the Sonic Screwdrivers had a very similar design. And also it's kinda looks Star Wars Lightsaber.
My guess is that the Brotherhood's Tesla Cannon was tuned down partially to save on ammo, but also because the coils used weren't technically military-issue.
I love the holorifle so much. It's so powerful, looks cool/janky at the same time, and while it's more difficult to use at range, its more efficient than the gauss rifle and its unique variant at range overall. Ive also had a glitch in every save that causes it to stay at 100% durability for some reason, making it straight up broken lol
The image used for the Tesla cannon on the Fallout Brotherhood of Steel 2 design doc seems to based off of the EE-3 from Star Wars famously used by Boba Fett.
I have a theory on why they required the Tesla coil. I believe that either because of the emp nature of nukes or other causes led to much degradation on the original Tesla Cannon's in the region, and the scribes needed a fully functional Tesla coil (?) to rebuild some of those damaged components. Where as for New Vegas there's many reasons to maintain why the brotherhood had better access to Tesla Cannon's, firstly we know the Enclave out West was developing their own experimental variant, also the hidden valley bunkers could have had many perfect condition Tesla Cannon's in storage, AND there seems to be a lot more available sources near that region to get perfect condition prewar tech
The Tesla rifle is probably scavenged from a robobrain because they sometimes carry it on one of their arms in 76. Although it does look a bit different. Keep up the good work

Perhaps the Tesla coil was needed by the BOS to reverse engineer it to make their own for their Tesla cannons. And maybe the other ones that were already in Tesla cannons were damaged from 200 years of use and no maintenance and they needed a new one. But I’m not a smart person so I’m probably wrong.
if you wanna get technical, yea 0 spread is applied to 2 weapons (on this list). But in FNV there’s the unique hunting rifle Paciencia that also has 0 spread
Maybe the Euclid's C-Finder could be some sort of a military weapon, as Poseidon had military contracts, and why else would someone build an orbital weapon if it's not used for war? It's more likely to be a weapon for destroying bases and intrenched soliders as the area of effect and the fact it can only be used once a day will make it pretty useless for infrantry.
In fallout 2 when visiting the hubologist in NCR she can scrub you of neurodynes which has the possible effect of raising your luck by 1 or 2 or lowering it by 1. This suggest albeit loosely that it’s not all mumbojumbo.
Yo I am just wanting to say that what you are doing is so cool to me and I think you put out so much more effort into your videos then people like synonymous. Not asking to be featured but I just wanted to say it.
I think a "licensed reactor core" is something you can get for your nuclear powered car or nuclear powered house, as opposed to an unlicensed reactor core, which is probably something you can't get access to as a civilian. Since every household item seems to run off of nuclear energy, that is probably the most likely explanation, although I might be wrong.
I always thought that the reason for why the alien blaster’s discrepancies were because they were all different purposes, with fallout 4’s being the equivalent to an emergency survival weapon, (similar to some .22 survival rifles some planes carry), Zeta being the equivalent of proper light arms for security, and base fallout 3’s being a purpose built weapon for an alien that might deliberately land to investigate. Either that, or an older and more powerful model before the design got refined and cheaper to mass produce but less effective.
Fun story: I'm not sure how but in my original playthrough of New Vegas I gained the Eulicid's c finder, and actually would gain two of the charges. I could reload it, and the animation looked exactly like the alien blaster. It stopped working entirely after a little while, but it was interesting.
The alien disintergrater with unlimited ammo is you pressing a button and a mini fission reactor pushes another full capacity charge into the weapon. This is my personal justification. To seperate the fission reactor from the weapon portion incase of emergency.
I don’t particularly enjoy energy weapons except maybe plasma rifles and Gatling lasers. But you sold me on them. Also I somehow never used the Holorifle. I just used other weapons. Turns out it’s good and I should have used it lmao.
For the tesla i think the new vegas magazine is referring to the tesla canon we use and the normal one known that is the “compact” is maybe like tank sized and the ones in new vegas were fully prepared, the ones in DC were just produced and the brotherhood needs the coil to finish the production notes for the gun
It would be awesome if you made a speculative video on the Zetans in terms of why are they here, what we know about them, and most importantly why do their ships keep crashing. What could be going on in their own civilization which urged them to come to Earth. And what is causing their technology degeneration or whatever they are experiencing. I feel like they are covered in the games only vaguely in the passing yet looking at the impact they’ve had, it wouldn’t surprise me that everything revolves around them or even something bigger beyond our barren little planet.
I have three theory’s as to why the new vegas aliens only have one blaster, first is that wasteland expeditions by the aliens are under equipped leading to them using earth weapons, second is that the aliens blaster is more of a survival gun where there’s only one per ship and it’s meant to be used if a ship has to land, and third is that the other two broke theirs and gave their ammo to the captain explaining why the captain has more ammo on him than we find at other crash sites.
You can actually see a reload animation for the pistol. You just have to wait for the ammunition to appear in your inventory while the c-finder is still equipped, then reload.
Don’t ask me how because I don’t remember, but I’ve gotten the C-Finder to reload, I can’t remember if I saw yellow when it was reloaded but I was only successful with reloading it once.
If the timer ticks over while you have it out you'll reload it, or in rare cases it'll glitch and stack a second shot which lets you reload immediately on firing.
Just started _Fallout 3_ again, and the exploding-UFO unique encounter was the very first random encounter, at the very first random-encounter point I reached, at Super Duper Mart. Came around the corner and a raider started shooting at me with Firelance. Luckily, NPCs don't use up ammo, so I was able to recover all of the rounds for it.
If an NPC picks up the firelance or alien blaster and there is no ammo to pickup, they will actually spawn a few rounds into their inventory. This was how I kept the alien blaster in ammo before any of the DLCs came out.
The 'unliscenced' portion of the BoS2 tesla cannon's nuclear reactor is probably a reference to Egon Spangler in the original ghostbusters, telling the other ghostbusters that they're all wearing unlisenced nuclear accelerators.
I always thought the Alien Blaster pistols was posed to be the "powerful weapons" and their own category for that reason, but the are actually too weak for any uses in the endgame. Thanks for your videos and Its lore You're welcome my great dude!
I think a good explanation for the disintegrator reload being just a button press is local teleporter technology we know the zetans have could teleport ammo from your inventory into the disintegrator
honestly I'd believe the survivor would put more effort into the cooler looker weapon's mods than some random pipe weapon. Which is why the upgrades for the more military or exotic weapons need more exotic supplies. He cares about the looks of the higher tier items.
I really wish you could activate the c finder before you buy the gun. It would be a cool interaction where maybe the kids blow themselves and a part of free side up. Maybe part of the Mormon fort or delete mick and Ralphs lol
For some odd reason the Fallout 3 / New Vegas Alien Blaster reminds of the silver laser pistol from original Lost in Space. I also cast another vote for the Fallout 4 / 76 Alien Blaster looking like a phaser knock off. At least they had the decency to put a trigger guard on it.
10:59 mybe the one that BoS had was missing an tesla coil and ones in diffrent games just simply has all the parts already so they dont need to be replaced in any way

Do the sights on the holorifle come from a camera? I recall the viewfinder of the new vegas camera being pretty similar
Video suggestion: stationary weapons
Isn't the "unlicensed nuclear reactor" bit a nod to Ghostbusters?
“I am Radking- the King of Rads” a little redundant isn’t that Radking?
Keep up the good work Radking and I like to see a future episode about clothing and armour of fallout
I really wish you could activate the c finder before you buy the gun. It would be a cool interaction where maybe the kids blow themselves and a part of free side up. Maybe part of the Mormon fort or delete mick and Ralphs lol
_Shotgun Tesla rifle, clearly that should have been in the "The Shotguns of Fallout!"._
you forgot the gost minigun from fallout 76
Oh holy Atom has blessed us with his holy glow via your video.
Hey. I believe the Tesla Rifle is a Robobrain's weapon. They have one that looks almost identical to the gun.
10:59 mybe the one that BoS had was missing an tesla coil and ones in diffrent games just simply has all the parts already so they dont need to be replaced in any way
Pretty sure you can also find alien powercells if you nuke the Brotherhood at the end of Broken Steel, theres an armory in the ruins of the citadel
Energy weapons in general are my favourite in all games
My God, the beauty of BOS2's Tesla Cannon. If that were in game, I'll play as the Garret Brother.
Aaaah righteous bison in the alien blasters section
