Hi Mary ! Great little video on one of my favorites! I have been picking them wild , give the a quick rinse and let them totally dry out, then stuff them into a wine bottle about half way up and then I add rose hips and Hawthorne leaves and cover it all wit Tito's or Silent Sam Vodka. Tito's is very smooth and mellows everything out. The little extract has saved my life twice ! I take a half a shot every few days or so and just deeply appreciate how good God is for creating this little bush ! "The leaves of the trees shall be for the healing/health of My People " ,and thats everybody ! Thank you for your work. I have shared this with my hard headed brother and some friends with high blood pressure. Much appreciation from me on their behalf. 💝

Tasting like an avocado is an interesting description. I know where you're coming from though. I've always described them as apple like.

This jelly you made, looks more like juice. Will it stiffen, and does it store outside of refrigeration?

Please reiterate, I read somewhere that said not to take Hawthorne on a prolonged basis. It would see that your conclusion makes more sense since it is a berry.
Please post more video’s. Thank You

They're full of cyanide so don't take too much, but the same goes for apples!

@@adhamhmacconchobhair7565 that sounds more like what our governments would like you to believe. Actually eating apple seeds WITH the apple not on their own. But the way nature intended you to eat them, gives massive heath benefits including stopping cancer

Hi Mary we have 12 acres and surrounding our property are so many Hawthorn trees. So I decided this year I would harvest them. I followed a recipe that said to boil the hawthorn and squeeze the juice from it. I have a steamer that has a pan and then the base and lid plus a tube that comes out of the size of this system that steams and only the juice comes out the pulp stays in. So I made a few jars of jelly already. Tastes good but here is my question. The Hawthorn seeds have arsenic in it so would the berries seeds of arsenic leach into the juice. Is there a danger for consumption Sincerely
    Elizabeth

" The first thing you need to know about the Hawthorn berries is you should not eat the seeds. They contain cyanide bonded with sugar, called amygdalin. In your gut - actually small intestine - that changes to hydrogen cyanide and can be deadly. You can cook the berries then discard the seeds, but don't eat the seeds." google

If you drain the juice off through fabric the seeds won’t get in.
