    Thanks for your video. Perhaps sou should mention that they aren't ripe when they turn black outside. Then they still need 4 to 7 weeks more. You can tell they are ripe by cutting them in half. If the inside is dark purple - not white - they are ripe. Also these little thing the berries are attached to are turning red - each one. Sorry that I don't know the correct expression, but I guess you know what I mean.
    Most people tend to harvest aronia berries much too early and therefore don't like them. It's a pity.
    Greetings from Germany, Europe. 🙂

    This is the first time I have heard of this berry! It would be nice if they grew in my area of Ontario! Thank you for the info.

    Oh how I desperately look for Aronia berries. My area here in Ma. has been reported to having this berry bush, but I have never had luck in spotting any.
    Thank you for inspiring me to continue my search and for sharing those amazing recipes. For now I will substitute another berry.

      Perhaps you can plant a bush somewhere. Here in Finland we don't have wild bushes but they grow great when planted. I have one in the backyard that is full of berries now (maybe 30 litres if I would pick them all)

      @@micknorthyard815 I have been looking for someone who sells them here in Massachusetts. When I find a seller, I will Definity plant a couple. Enjoy your berries and your health.

    I have a shrub at the back of my back yard that looks similar to this. Except the berries are not in clusters. I'm trying to decide whether to keep this random twiggy bush.

      Buckthorns?

    • @luvovror02
      @luvovror02 Рік тому +1

      No, not Buckthorn. I'd share a photo but. . . They look exactly like these berries, the bush grew from bird droppings left over twenty years ago. lol It has only started fruiting the last few years. The birds and squirrels eat the few berries it produces. I think because it is so gangly and not pruned and maintained, and it just doesn't get enough sunshine to produce clusters of berries. The over-bearing trees are Norway Maple, they don't let much grow beneath them.@@EdibleWildFood-1

    • @EdibleWildFood-1
      @EdibleWildFood-1  8 місяців тому

      They may appear the same once picked but not when they are on the shrubs. You would have to search in the UK to see where they are sold.
