Thank you very much for sharing this video!!! I was the young boy playing golf with my older brother, you really brought back great memories for me... I had to watch it again just to make sure it was me and I called my older brother 75' now to tell him about it ❤
This is great to hear! I'm always looking for myself or other family members that may have been caught on someone else's old Wildwood footage. I'm so glad to hear that someone else was able to find themselves on a video I posted. I'll be posting more wildwood movies very soon so be sure to subscribe.
Amazing footage Joe... thanks! My WW childhood memories were from 1971 to 1978. Took summer vacations there ever summer and we loved it. Was really fun during those years. I'll never forget KONG, the Hell Hole and the summer of Jaws in 1975. Would not trade it for anything!
Great stuff, thanks for sharing!! I was always more of a Hunt's Pier fan over Marine Pier. But you know what, I think most of those old school rides on any of the piers would be just as popular today as they were back then. And with each pier under different management, it made for some good competition as they came up with ways to top each other to get us on their rides. Some people will say we should stop living in the past. But maybe they weren't as fortunate as us old timers who actually got to enjoy those classic times down the shore.
Joe..... what great video. Did you notice the ocean was closer to the boardwalk 60 years ago? I'm not kidding... the Wildwood beach gets bigger each year. Loved, loved, loved the final scene with Groff's Restaurant. I actually used to work there. Thanks for sharing.
Definitely 1958, the clothes and the stores. 1968 was a time of flower children and hippies. None of them here. Also, Read Dave’s comment below, he would have corrected me.

Could you imagine if the pirate ship was still around?

Awesome color!
Love how Douglass Candies has a modern almost 2019 sign!
Was this just a super 8 camera?
Seens newer than 58
I thought so too but look at 4:30.
The theater is showing "South Pacific." It came out in 1958.
This looks more one 1968 than 1958??? We are North Wildwood people, Wildwood is kind of shitty these day, we only stay in North Wildwood...
