- Wildlife photography is difficult and one of the tools I use constantly these days is the trail camera. This enables me to scout out areas over extended periods of time without actually being there. But how do you choose the right trail camera for your needs? With thousands on the market with hundreds of different features it can be a minefield. In this video I give you some pointers on how to choose your first camera and some ideas on setting it up for wildlife success.

Excellent tips and info Scott. I have a couple of trail cams but so far I have only used them in the garden for foxes, badgers and hedge hogs. Hopefully I will make more use of them in the future.
Thanks Paul, I have to say they are extremely usefu lespecially for more elusive animals that would otherwise entail days and days in a hide. Currently testing one that lets me know when its triggered on my mobile which would have been great for my recent Aberdeen trip as it was a 56 mile round trip to check the camera. Great tips Scott, quick question do you know if the footage from the Ceymor camera plays on an iPad ?
Hi Laurence, I can't see any reason why it wouldn't. I don't use apple but the Ceymor writes to an SD card (AVI files) After a quick search it looks like it will play although it may involve downloading a bit of software from the App store. Hope that helps! Scott👍
