Bob's most legendary call is Michael Jordan's game winning shot to win the 98 NBA finals 🤣🤣 Glad he stopped doing NBA games, NBA has been unwatchable for a while now.
Every time he was announcing a MLB Network showcase game featuring either New York teams, I would avoid and bypass that game to get another game instead.
💯 on point Scrap Fish. Bob is arguably the best Studio Host/Panelist/Interviewer on American Sports TV. His knowledge on sports history especially MLB is unmatched. On Play by Play mainly MLB and NBA/ABA(yes he started his career calling the St Louis Sprit & Chicago Bulls games in the 1970s) before joining NBC he was very good. However, he was never an all time great Play by Play Commentator along the lines of Vince Scully, Ernie Harwell, Harry Kalas and even Al Michaels among fellow HOF MLB Broadcasters from the 1980s and 90s.
Bob Costas is corny and tries to make every game sound like Ken Burns documentary but like c'mon bro it's just a ground ball double play in March - it's not the culmination of a lifelong dream to become shortstop intertwined with traumatic childhood unfolding beautifully like a butterfly leaving a cocoon or whatever cheesy narrative he stuffs down your throat
can’t forget “line drive base hit to center field”
“I’m not sure if volpe *caught* it”
Thanks, Bob! We're going to miss you.
A great legend
As a kid I vividly recall watching the ALCS game with my beloved Orioles vs the Chicago White Sox, and that extra innings dinger by Tito Landrum.
Thank you UA-cam for letting me watch 5 minutes between ads.
No Strasburg game? Of his recent stuff that is certainly among the most memorable.
Bob Costas i love his calls in mlb and i hope he have a good time i can't believe he is retiring my favorite broadcaster of all time
I think it was best for him to retire, he sounded like a drunk dude slurring his words covering the ALDS
17:53 Costas’ best call.
Absolutely agree
17:52 - My favorite Bob Costas call in Major League Baseball
6:45 this is the definition of a 3-0 greenlight swing
It is well known to Cleveland fans that Pena swung through the take sign on that HR. Definitely a good decision!
One of the greatest to ever do it in this sport. Very glad he did decide to retire, as his play-by-play quality was probably at a whits end
This list is incomplete without the Pedro Strop game!
As joe davis says
(S)HE IS GOOOOOOOOOOONE!
Ken Harrlson hr calls are all epic
7:31
This shows you how good Jay Buhner actually was!
We need more great commentators today!
"One of the great moments in a hall of fame career" regarding Roger Clemens who, **checks notes** is never going into the HOF.
Bob's most legendary call is Michael Jordan's game winning shot to win the 98 NBA finals 🤣🤣

I cannot think of a worse use of 37 minutes and 23 seconds
Desde Tabasco
Go braves
Here comes Chicago
Strop is on his way out. Motte is on his way in….
30:55 bro the umpire just said he was safe.
and he was, i dont see what you're tryna get at
He said the throw was not in time, not the run. If you listen from 30:50 instead, it makes more sense.
So now that cars 4 is coming out possibly i bet Matt Vasgergian will replace Bob Costas
Is Bob Costas retiring?
Every time he was announcing a MLB Network showcase game featuring either New York teams, I would avoid and bypass that game to get another game instead.
Bro became absolutely washed by the end of his career.
Thank goodness we never have to listen to him again.
Wait until Cars 4
I love Bob in the studio and for interview shows.
In the booth? Meh.

LEGENDARY? NEVER HEARD OF HIM
You never heard game 6 call of the bills jazz when Jordan hit the shot.
The guy has been on the air for 40 something years, but dumb internet guy never heard of it. Yup, this checks out.

I'd rather listen to chicken with his head caught off. Then listen to Bob Costas announcer another MLB Game 😭🙏
He’s one of if not the GOAT
Real and Wsg redbird
Pretty much. He was good 25-30 years ago, but he’s out of touch and horribly washed now.
Hear hear, hes bloody awful.
