    I love these ideas! Last year I was a junior and I was on/ am on a weight loss journey. I lost 40 lbs the healthy way (exercising and eating smart) and I mostly did it through meal prep! Every Sunday I would prep my breakfasts for school. I would make muffins(healthy with oat flour; typically pumpkin :)), hard boiled eggs, and I would bring an orange and some almonds :) I would take leftovers from dinner for lunch at school, and I would have small meals through the day. It really shows that you don't need to have a huge meal prep, but that even just making one meal can put you on the road for success :)

    In my case I plan to start make breakfasts like overnight oats or boiled eggs or breakfast muffins etc for my friend but he gets to work over 30min before I do so I gotta plan it accordingly where it's prepped or made the day before and put in the fridge when I get there til he eats it the next morning. These vids are super useful.

      I was curious about this too and bought 3 glass jars with metal lids you can screw on (they can be used to make preservatives as well) to compare to the plastic bags/boxes I normally use; plastic makes veggies and fruits soft and soggy within a day, maybe two, whereas I have some bell peppers leftover in the glass jars that I sliced a week ago (last Saturday) and they're still firm and crisp! Definitely makes a difference.

      1carissa6 Thank you!! I LOVE sashimi! The great thing about it, though, is it doesn't really need a recipe! The sashimi itself is the uncooked fish- salmon and yellowfin tuna are great choices! Buy good quality for the best sashimi. Slice your fish into pieces, and you can drizzle with a little olive oil, soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds if you'd like! It's delicious and doesn't need much :) Cheers!

      @MindOverMunch  7 років тому

      I have a variety of different mason jars, and I don't really pay attention to which sizes I use for each recipe! I have 4 oz., 8 oz., and 16 oz. jars - but you can really use any size and any kind of storage containers that you have available to contain the food! (it doesn't have to be mason jars) hope this helps! So glad you're enjoying the channel :)

    Why do you use jars instead of like a glad plastic thing? Does it keep longer? Also, I just got a food saver, let me know your thoughts on that.

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  7 років тому

      I do use plastic containers in some meal prep episodes! It doesn't matter really, just depends on your preference. I like how the jars look and they fit will in my fridge! I don't personally have a food saver and I haven't ever used one! It looks like a cool kitchen tool, though! :)

    Hello, I'm trying to get into healthy eating so looking at a lot of meal prep stuff.. Does the stuff not start to go off after a few days? For example I don't understand how someone can prep a whole weeks meal without it going off?

    • @MindOverMunch
      @MindOverMunch  9 років тому

      +AmyLouiseee12345 Hello! I usually prep for 4-5 days in advance. Some food will last a whole week, but it really depends on what you're cooking. You might find my Meal Prep eBook helpful, as it discusses storage, refrigeration and freezing times, in addition to effective and efficient meal prepping, planning and organization :) mindovermunch.com/ebooks
