As you would say in Blighty…..brilliant. Self actualized, comfortable with self, thirst for knowledge. All sterling qualities. Remember, there is no learning without making errors. Trick is to not repeat them. Obviously I do not know you other than y-tube, yet I feel like I have a good measure of you. Positive synergy is a big part of “what” you are, which contributes to “who” you are.

You never seem to let anything beat you. You try, you learn and your attitude to all your maintenance challenges is to be admired as you don’t give up. You certainly are not dumb, so don’t be so hard on yourself. Amazing the money you save by your hard work and ability to source, tools, materials and help. Well done May on your financial awareness to maintain the lifestyle you clearly love. Really interesting Thank You May

Long boat living does look very appealing. However I live in the far Australian outback so we don’t have rivers/canals for boat living. A lot of aussies are venturing into vanliving or tiny home living, for a more affordable way of living. Having a friend that’s a mechanic/welder is great. You’ve definitely saved big money with his offer of help. I’ve often wondered being in a flat bottomed boat, do you get a lot of coldness coming through the flooring during winter. Blessings to you & take care 😊

It will get better as you complete all your DIY jobs.....and the loan will eventually be paid off.

Great videos May. A cheap suggestion which could help with condensation on the windows, try bubblewrap, with fairly large bubbles
As condensation develops lay the wrap on the windows and it will hold onto the glass, the worst of the condensation should be gone, try it on one window first to check if this hack works on a narrow boat.

Great savings also Travis Perkins are cheapest by far, for your odds and sods ? Your a Lucky lady doing what your doing. Regards

why don't you use a 2 pack epoxy treatment for the blacking which will give a longer longevity between drydocking. Ben and Emily did that for their boat.may cost more but you will save in the long run.

2 packs the worst ya can put on ya hull ! It's only good if you don't intend to do much cruising. One small scrape leads to a bubble rapidly !!
If you have the money ya best off using zinc based paints ...
But if your on a budget but have plenty of time on ya hands then bitumen is the answer ( that's pure bitumen ) , the stuff ya trowel on ...or if you havnt much time then run of the mill bitumen , the stuff ya roll on ..

There's nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy the summer a bit. We need sunlight as much as food and drink. It has to be said that this summer was not exactly brilliant. The new skills learnt will be useful in the future. A big shout out fro George as I think he's a great help to you as he seems to be willing to help anytime. For future reference most of the things bought from B&Q are quite a bit cheaper at Wickes.

I'm not surprised they quoted you 2.6k for windows when you are giving them measurements in the order of 8.9 meters (8900mm) by 5.9 meters (5900mm) for one window. Bearing in mind a 62ft boat is roughly 18 meters long. you have 1 window there nearly half the length and three times the height of the boat... Nice job on the painting though looks smart in the bow now 👍

I'd love to have a narrow boat & get away from my concrete house, but i have a garage full of tools hobbyist items & 2 motorbikes, a couple of friends live nearby & my mum roasts too. I could sell my house & purchase a narrow boat but it does appear to require more maintaining than a house, plus i dont think i could cope with too much isolation. Tranquillity & nature are great & we all need it & i find it theraputic. Going to work for customers could be challenging too ( plumber).
Perhaps a wee flat And a narrow boat !!! 🤔
