Ok so for those who don’t know ... he wrote her a letter saying he thought she took Kate out of the car seat and went in the house. He drove off mad and hungover and went to Wendy’s to eat and pee. His phone kept ringing in his pocket but the car seat was in his way so in a rage he ripped it out of the car and flung it and Kate flew out and hit the ground. He said he held her and cried. No way that is how it happened because an empty car seat is not as heavy as one with a baby in it. He killed her and then made up a lame story.

The comments make me so sad. NOT one of these people have lived one second in her shoes. People testifying are told not to show emotion because it could cause a mistrial or jeopardize it. She told someone just days before Kate’s disappearance she said she had wished Kate was never born and would just disappear. As a mother I don’t know how you could feel that way about your child.

Trials are not for our entertainment. It is necessary for the lawyers to take notes and compare statements and evidence as it's presented. Would you be able to remember every single thing that a witness said on the stand and compare it to previous statements and all the details?

Prosecutor is doing a HORRIBLE job with this witness! I just happened upon this, do not know the circumstances or what happened. I just watched this ENTIRE video and still have NO idea what happened. The only thing this prosecutor has established in my mind is that there is a baby involved. A car seat involved and a father that did not want this child. That is it- Nothing more. She has also made it clear that this woman is poorly prepared for this testimony. The prosecutor is also poorly prepared and cannot seem to develop any kind of momentum of story line.

Her selective memory and convenient confusion is a common tactic used when someone is trying to change the testimony they gave in their original statement to the Police.
Also common when years have passed and when someone has dealt with trauma. Human recall is incredibly inaccurate in the first place, even immediately after an event. And I mean IMMEDIATELY. Eyewitness testimony is extremely unreliable, and the scary part is everyone runs around thinking there’s no way THEY could manufacture or block memories, or misremember. The brain is a very, very complex organ.

It was important the matter of an attempt to influence her testimony was addressed immediately. The prosecution had no time to seek the usual discovery order in relation to the text message. While unusual, it was appropriate in the circumstances - another complication of the weird world of mass media.
The court needed evidence which happened to be on her cell phone. So they asked her to retrieve it in order to see the texts in question. What's unbelievable about it?

The prosecutor is trying to document his mindset about another responsibility and the disapproval of his parents, that's why so many questions about abortion(until she was too far along) then he was pressing for adoption. She's trying to prove his frustration led him to take it out on the baby. I feel sorry for young people that take on adult situations by first engaging in acts they are not mature enough to handle. So sad a life was lost and their lives destroyed. She really needed some guidance - it would have helped her in her decision making process. Her actions (lying, changing her mind and still sleeping with him; sending mixed messages) contributed to his confusion and anger. In addition to that being in the military going far away on dangerous assignments may have brought on more anxiety. My prayers with them all.

In a confiscated letter Sean sent Ariel from jail, he told her spouses can't be compelled to testify against each other, so he proposed to her (how romantic, right?), but IIRC her family talked her out of actually marrying him.

Trial is cutthroat. You get one shot so I see many comments bashing prosecution here. But remember the prosecution is the one who has the burden of proof. Not the defense. The prosecution gets one shot at getting justice for the victim. That can cause a great deal of frustration with a very once cooperative witness who is now deciding to backpeddle when it is the moment it counts the very most! Especially when outsiders can see it is due to manipulation. Did thus mother suffer too? Absolutely 100% no doubt! But who is the actual victim? Not the mother. The mother is forgetting herself in a sad attempt to be accepted and loved by his family which is despicable of that family to even do. If you didn't already love and accept her before the tragedy...you aren't going to and you are lying to her and using this poor mother to save your worthless son for taking accountability for his actions.

The only thing this prosecutor has established in my mind is that there is a baby involved. A car seat involved and a father that did not want this child. That is it- Nothing more. She has also made it clear that this woman is poorly prepared for this testimony. The prosecutor is also poorly prepared and cannot seem to develop any kind of momentum of story line.

It was important the matter of an attempt to influence her testimony was addressed immediately. The prosecution had no time to seek the usual discovery order in relation to the text message. While unusual, it was appropriate in the circumstances - another complication of the weird world of mass media.
The court needed evidence which happened to be on her cell phone.
So they asked her to retrieve it in order to see the texts in question. What's unbelievable about it?

The prosecutor is trying to document his mindset about another responsibility and the disapproval of his parents, that's why so many questions about abortion(until she was too far along) then he was pressing for adoption. She's trying to prove his frustration led him to take it out on the baby. I feel sorry for young people that take on adult situations by first engaging in acts they are not mature enough to handle. So sad a life was lost and their lives destroyed. She really needed some guidance - it would have helped her in her decision making process. Her actions (lying, changing her mind and still sleeping with him; sending mixed messages) contributed to his confusion and anger. In addition to that being in the military going far away on dangerous assignments may have brought on more anxiety. My prayers with them all.

Trial is cutthroat. You get one shot so I see many comments bashing prosecution here. But remember the prosecution is the one who has the burden of proof. Not the defense. The prosecution gets one shot at getting justice for the victim. That can cause a great deal of frustration with a very once cooperative witness who is now deciding to backpeddle when it is the moment it counts the very most! Especially when outsiders can see it is due to manipulation. Did thus mother suffer too? Absolutely 100% no doubt! But who is the actual victim? Not the mother. The mother is forgetting herself in a sad attempt to be accepted and loved by his family which is despicable of that family to even do. If you didn't already love and accept her before the tragedy...you aren't going to and you are lying to her and using this poor mother to save your worthless son for taking accountability for his actions.
