Mushoku Tensei season 2 cour 1 has now ended with episode 12, and we finally saw Rudeus get over his ED with the help of Sylphiette (AKA Silent Fitts or Fitz). In this video, I talk about where their relationship will go from here, so there are spoilers right up to the end of Mushoku Tensei as a light novel series. Will Sylphy and Rudy have children? What will happen to them as they get older? All will be explained!
What made me cry was not so much Sylphie's reveal, but what happened after when her and Rudy spend the night together. The fact that she walked back into the room the next morning and Rudy hugging her out of relieve that she came back to him and not disappeared like Eris did.
Sylphy is the glue of this whole family dynamic in the series and stays wholesome the whole time… she stays loveable the whole time 😊
Sylphy manages to be both lovable and wholesome and kinky submissive and breedable
Always wanted to have Sylphy meet up with Rudy again.
Their friendship as kids was really beautiful including the misunderstanding that happens that gets replayed as they get older when Sylphy does her own big reveal.
When she cried begging him not to leave I fell in love with her

I'm not a big fan of Roxy myself (she's alright, I just find nearly all of the other female characters more interesting), so I choose Eris first, Slyphy second, then Roxy a distant last after other non-wives like Elinalise, Ariel, Nanahoshi, Linia and Pursena lol... But I think I'm rare for not stanning Roxy.

Sylphie is, as I've said many times, is my favorite of the three due to her understanding and softer nature of the three. Its a personal weakness I've got when it comes to personality types. I also like how the story chose the order.
If Roxy was first she'd take it personally but keep quite on it due to her insecurities and reserved nature. If Eris was first then Rudeus probably wouldn't survive the first time🤣. Its only with Sylphie being the first that allowed it, though with a bit of scorn, because of her understanding nature and Rubeus's openness, well that and she kind of guessed that it was going to happen to begin with.
Sylphie is the backbone of the family and wives by being the main Mother figure in the household. Roxy provides wisdom and experience due to being the oldest in the house, and Eris is essentially the protector of the household when not with Rudeus. Of course this isn't their only aspects as characters but I'd end up typing a whole video script as a comment and we would be here all day.
Anyway keep fighting the Eris within you so you can get better.
after the hundreds of anime i've watched and dozens of dozens of light novels i've read, mushoku is in my top 5 favs. story line and execution is bang on

Sylphy has always been my hands down favorite of the females in Rudy's life. That said I do like how each of the three Rudy does end up with that they each have their own pros and cons. As well as you talked about Natalie that each has a life beyond being the Wife of Rudy.
I actually was in a situation similar to Sylphy's. My husband, who said he wanted a monogamous relationship, eventually became involved with another person without telling me and brought her home to live with us. I did not have the sympathetic reaction Sylphy did. I was hurt. Badly. I became a miserable, angry person. After about a year of trying to live with the situation I left. It still hurts a little even now, years later; I confess this video was difficult to watch. However, my personal baggage aside, I do support you Natalie and hope your life improves after your rough patch! I look forward to your next video.
Woah.... I would not have been able to deal with that. I'd probably have gone supernova from how mad I'd be. I think it's one thing in a setting like MT where it might be something Sylphy would expect (she'd already seen Paul marry Lilia, and her and Zenith get along as family), but that's a medieval fantasy world. In our culture you just don't expect someone to bring in a second woman to live with you, unless you get involved in some poly thing where they would have told you from the start so you could nope out before you had any feelings or expectations with him. I don't think what happened in Mushoku is impossible, but at the very least it is idealized. In real life it must be something very complicated to do if it is not done by mutual agreement with all parties involved, and very painful when it goes wrong. I hope things have gone much better for you since then.
God no, I'd hate that. I mean, I don't care what other people do but it's definitely not for me. I'm the jealous type. I don't think I'd even have been able to try to make it work like you did. I'd probably have wanted to punch them both into the sun, tbh.

I have read all the light novel and I am still a sylphy fan mainly but Roxy is my close second of the three. This is a great series.
After reading the light novel I thought Eris was best girl (after Orsted) but given how sweet Sylphy was in the last couple episodes has made things more competitive
@shadowreacts5618each one of them is absolutely unique, special and the best in its own way. Each one separately is a fundamental and indispensable element in Rudy's life, and he in theirs. That said... Silphy is the best, and anything else is a lie and also heresy xD

Always loved your voice, and the way you present content on the Anime I am interested in.
It is sad that Sylphy's life in the other timelines without Rudy is essentially a life full of sadness, strife and heartache and that she dies alone.
Rudy stepping in during her childhood changed the course of her soul's journey in such a significant way, is perhaps a nod too toward's Rudy's original life, when he meant nothing to anyone, even his own family.

I have a couple of comments, and they are basically just tiny quibbles.
I wouldn't say that Nanahoshi is the only person that Silphy would not accept. She also displays caution and a bit of jealousy when it comes to Ariel as well. And while Nanahoshi shows not even the slightest bit of attraction to Rudius, Ariel, on the other hand, is always teasing the idea of something physical between her and Rudy.
Maybe it is because you haven't read the light novels, that maybe you didn't get to the Library Labyrinth section? It is something of a throwaway story arc, but one of the nice things about it is you get to see how Rudy and Sylphy work together when fighting. Eris is also along, so it isn't just the two of them, but they interact more in this story arc than they do in the following arc where they set off to gain the throne for Ariel. What's hammered in is that Sylphy is an instinctive support magician, automatically knowing what Rudy needs and supplying it without him ever having to say a word. They way they work together (or rather the way Sylphy can pick up on and supply Rudy's needs in battle) is a really sweet part of the action sequences, and I wish they had gone on more adventures as a team. Maybe they will later in the light novels I haven't gotten to yet. (Also, I was hoping they would also team Rudy up with Eris and team him up with Roxy in the light novels too, so we can see how he and those wives combine their talents and work with their different personalities.)
Yeah I switched to the WN at volume 15 I think, that was all that was out in English at the time and I was planning to just wait until all 26 were out at this point to catch back up on the LNs.
i’m calling it now. In a world where Rudy is not supposed to exist and he changes everything around him, I bet Lara and Laplace fall in love. Laplace becomes whole, and they defeat a certain someone together. Man, I really hope they write the sequel soon.
It would be a cool story, but with the present information, seems that Laplace death is needed to reach Creepy-gami.

I don't think it is. I think Rudeus just thinks it is, so that's what he assumes. Why would the Dragon God, who loved and trusted his generals, have made his treasures literally the life force of those people, so his son would have to kill people like Laplace? In Old Dragon's Tale, they're implied to be physical objects, too. I think Orsted just doesn't explain it too well to Rudy, so Rudy assumes he has to kill them all (including Perugius), but actually he doesn't. That's one thing you can do when writing from one character's POV.
Which is my favourite? It's like being asked what your favourite icecream is. I'd probably say whatever one I was eating at the time. This has been Sylphie's season. Still, maybe I would lean a bit more towards Eris. Eris owns herself, a trait Sylphie doesn't seem to have. But it's still a tough call. And I will have to reassess once Roxy is back in the mix.

I've always been surprised Rudy doesn't recognize the name Saladin, the common name of the great Arab general Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, from the Crusades. I guess Japan doesn't cover that part of world history.

Rifujin probably did choose it intentionally, a lot of characters are named after real world people (e.g. Laplace), but the names aren't supposed to mean anything particular in world I don't think, and it wouldn't be unusual for Rudeus not to know them (remember he also only went to school until he was 14).
Everyone growing old by the last chapter makes me sad. I understand the time jump though. Reminds me of how invincible ended in the comics.

'With a decent sized bit of elf in them' ah-hem, innuendo police alert.
Sylphie is best wife, she is kind, can hold her own in a fight, has her own long running side story and i think understands Rudy the best of the three wives in my opinion, Eris and Roxy both misunderstand Rudy in their own way and in rather simular wasys, Eris kind of sees Rudy a lot like how Rudy sees Roxy, putting him up on a pedastal which leads to her unintended hurting of Rudy and his ED, Roxy sees Rudy as a remarkable student who has suppassed her when in fact he's got a bad case of imposter syndrom (Which Roxy also has whenever Rudy talks up Roxy).
Sylphie's the only one thats seen the real Rudy, shes seen him do all the great magical feats the others have, but she also seen Rudy's more vulnerable and humble side when he's got the ED issues and from when they were kids, she's also seen that Rudy is smart and very capable but she's also seen him make mistakes and be fooled like when he keeps mistaking her for a boy, she's also seen glances of his more degerate side, she doesn't get to see all of it and she does hold Rudy up to some degree, but she's got more of a look behind the curtian and she still loves Rudy inspite of his flaws and she did get he'd want more wives, something i'm not sure Roxy or Eris would have been as willing to go along with if they were the first wife, Eris seems a bit to possessive when they are first together and Roxy is a bit to unsure of her own worth when they get together to really be happy that idea, Sylphie knew without even talking to Rudy about it and knows Rudy enough that he won't throw her away.
I think this is reinforced by the fact that once Rudy and Sylphie get together, Rudy does make a credible and honest attempt to be faithful solely to Sylphie and he does hold true to it even when he does get flirted with he never entertians it, till a bad time in his life and when he does decide to add Roxy to the family he's stright up and honest with Sylphie about the whole thing to her.

I do hope that at some point Rudeus' children will come at an impasse, especially with Saladin being with Pax junior. Although, I do hope they'll work things out.
Spoiler theory.
Rudy's son Saladin will most likely be very important in the fight verse Leplas and Hitogami. Along with Lara, Lily and Christina. Lara the chosen one, Lily is the inventor with the mk something and Christina's line as empress.
My theory is they won't actually have to kill Laplace at all. I think he'll become whole again.

Well, it's a video about what happens to her, not really a character analysis. And while she attacked Paul with that level of rage, she was just a measly kid at the time, it's not like she could actually hurt him. With Nanahoshi, it was a misunderstanding because they'd been speaking Japanese, but she thought Nanahoshi had intentionally caused an event that killed a lot of people, including her family, so, basically that Nanahoshi was the big bad. She's a bodyguard, if she thinks someone is a threat it's kinda her job to attack, and she quickly sees reason when it's explained to her what Nanahoshi actually meant. If it had been Eris in that moment Nanahoshi would have been toast!
@@NatalieXHunter true, but in Rudeus' eyes she is passive and angelical, but she may be primed to violence too... I love how she has lots of layers. Edit: english correction.
What flaw? She tried to protect Rudy when his father shipped him off unconscious and Nanahoshi who, viewed neutrally, appeared to be the person who caused the calamity which killed her parents. She was justified in her actions in both cases.

The answer is; yes. I did cry like a little bitch when Sylphy finally revealed herself to Rudy. And I cried equally as much the week after, right as he's about to give into despair cause he thinks yet another woman he loved left him. She then walks in, he holds her tightly, man, the floodgates opened.
And doing video on Eminence in shadow is a good choice as season 2 is coming out soon on HiDive.

Any surviving Dragon Race could have told him what his name was, because he was the child of two high profile people so they'd know who he was. But I suspect only Dora and Laplace would know that Laplace named him, and Dora didn't make it to the human world.

We're only told that she was found in a dungeon, not how she got there or whether that dungeon was somehow the remains of his house. But she was found only 200 years before the start of the story by which time Perugius was thousands of years old and would already have known his name.

Why did Gisu's letter contradict what Hitogami wanted Rudeus to do? Was Gisu not Hitogami's apostle at that moment?
I have never been sure about why Gisu sent that letter. Maybe it's been explained in a Q&A somewhere but I haven't seen it.
I truly think i am of the Rudy mindset. There is no "best wife". Each of them provides something inseparable from the construct of the family. And each restore a piece of Rudeus' soul. Roxy restores his bravery. Sylphie restores his heart. Eris restores his strength.
Actually Eris is the strength that Rudy lacks. She, in her own self, should be the one that is on the stone tablet, the only one that actually defeated a god.

That being said, beating an immortal ranked much higher, and almost beating the TRUE vestige of a God (Orsted) is none-the-less worthy of reverence.
I do have to wonder if in the sequel if the group finds another reincarnation of Rudy, making Rudy's soul kind of like Kishirika Kishirisu. or at least till the Man-God is taken down.

i know you mention Sylphies elf blood but shes a lot more human than she is elf. which could explain why she has abnormally high fertility for elf kind. i think her dad was only half elf so shes less than half of an elf. just strong elven charateristics.

She's quarter elf, so she ages slower than a human but faster than an elf. You'd assume then, that she'd be able to get pregnant less easily than a human, but more easily than a full elf like Elinalise. I just thought it was interesting to mention though, it isn't implausible or anything.

Roxy being miggurdian is also quite long lived at 200 twice that of your average human of our world let alone the 6 sided world. Yet the miggurdian village wasn't full of children.
It was just one of those little thoughts in the front of my mind that was wanting to get out there.

Thank you! The Migurds live for twice/2.5 times as long as humans, so I would guess they're probably half as fertile, assuming they are fertile for the same proportion of their lifespan as humans (though, also they're all living in their boring miserable village so I doubt that gets them in the mood lol). But elves can live for many hundreds of years (we don't know exactly, but Rostelina in ODT didn't see a century as a long time), so I think the difference between a full elf like Elinalise and a Migurd would be pretty significant. Probably, when you get to only a quarter elf, it might be about the same, though.
@@NatalieXHunter thinking about the difference between elinalise and sylphiette. We know that lise has been alive a very long time as the story about her dates back over 200 years and she was an adult even then.
But we don't have much information on syphietts dad in terms of his age before he died in the mana disaster if he would have lived for half as long as lise being a half elf himself. Providing he wasn't killed. Or if his life force wasn't reduced that much.
I don't think many fantasy stories really delve into how longevity effects humanoids born as art elf and human. Weather its a % reduction, fraction like 1/3 or 1/2 life force. I think we are always just left with the assumption they will live longer than their human parent but probably not as long as their elven parent.
It's hinted that lise has buried a few of her offspring and gone though some of that loss. And she probably has some elven children out there from when she tried to live a normal life with other elves. No doubt it got hard for her when her lifestyle didn't go well with other long lived beings

That’d be Siegfried the dragon slayer (Siegfried der Drachentöter). I believe it also has some what Nordic origins not too sure tho
Other than that the name itself is quite self explanatory.
Sieg means victory and hart is hard (also powerful/determined/strong in German)
Sieghart therefore means 'strong determined victor'

Im suprised you like roxy the least. To me all 3 of them are equally interesting and roxy has arguably done the most for rudy when he needed it most. All she is probably the most dependable. Out of the 3
I just find that kinda more introverted, low energy type of person less interesting in stories. I still think she's nice and everything, and if she was a real person I'd like her, but I just don't find her as entertaining to read about as the others.

Honestly, nobody makes a big deal of it when they find out or figure it out (Sylphy for instance has already heard that Nanahoshi and Rudues 'come from the same place', even though Sylphy knows his family and that he was born in Buena village). It's not such a strange idea to them, especially once they know Orsted.

I HATE harems with all my soul. I dropped the show when I learned it ends in polygamy... Sylphy is just the perfect Waifu, I hate Rudeus...
I wouldn't want to be in a harem irl, and generally I prefer that when a story goes full on into the full lifetime and marriage and stuff there's not a harem thing going on, but MT handles it in a way that actually doesn't bother me, giving each wife a reason why she's OK with it and creating a family unit that ends up being pretty harmonious and interesting. Sure, it's not what I'd want irl, but I don't have to live it to read about it, and while Sylphy is a great waifu, I wouldn't want Eris to lose out on the love she felt so passionate about. I don't really care either way about Roxy if I'm honest, but it makes sense that Rudy does.
I know I'm in the minority, and many of you will HATE me... but this arc made me really dislike Sylphie.
I've read the manga, which is a small bit past this part in the anime. The whole time, I didn't see Sylphie's not telling Rudy as cute, it just felt like dishonesty while she got her emotions together. And the big scheme to get him into the cave seemed... iono, manipulative.
What happens when you marry someone like that? Do they just decide to keep MAJOR info like this from you? What if you spend too much money, do you just keep it from your spouse?
Again, I know I am in the minority here.
Initially, it made sense, b/c the princess wanted to keep who she was a secret, but eventually once she was onboard w/telling Rudy, Sylphie should have told him immediately.
I think there's a difference between keeping a secret because she was scared he wouldn't remember her and of how that would break her heart (fear of rejection isn't exactly a rare thing for someone to have, and she's young and inexperienced with relationships), and keeping a secret to actively deceive someone because you know they will be angry with you (like the hypothetical spouse who spends too much money and hides it). But I personally dislike the way Roxy got together with Rudeus so I can see why some people just don't approve of certain things a character does and dislikes them for it.
@@NatalieXHunter Yeah, there is a difference between my example and Sylphie's, I could have come up w/a better analogy.
But the point that I am making, is the deception. I might be different, but I'd really struggle to trust someone who deceived me for that long.
You would know better than I, but was it about a year b4 she told RUdy the truth, or was it much shorter than that? If it was close to a year, that's a LONG time.
Also, hey, I know I'm in the minority here. I'm actually irritated AT MYSELF, seeing how much everyone else is enjoying this arc, and the whole time I'm just looking at it with ugg-face. 😁
Initially, when I was reading the manga, seeing that Rudy was about to get reunited, I was actually excited to see the reunion.
@@fopeezy3097well technically she didn't need to tell rudeus at all. It was her choice and her identity you could argue rudeus didn't have a right to know if she didn't want to reveal it. It nots dishonest to withhold personal information you don't want to reveal imo.
@@mr.protagonist5639 I mean... sure, I guess... but how would that work out w/o being dishonest? Would she make up a new name, pretend to be from another town, etc?
If she did that, she'd essentially have to create an ENTIRE new history. Who does that?
Would you actually want to start a relationship w/someone, with a fake name, fake history, a bunch of made up details, etc?
Imagine keeping that like up for the entire span of the relationship. It would be exhausting.
Sylphy pisses me off, and my least favorite wife.
She's too acceptant for Rudy's actions which is not good for his character, cuz he has to learn his mistakes.
