The crashes sound horrendous but the ride sounds pretty decent. The hats are the best sounding thing imo. For the price of these, I wouldn’t say they’re worth it. Better off with Meinl Classics Custom Dark, which are actually cheaper anyway.
I have a set of the standard S series cymbals and never did like them much. These don't sound that much better but the ride has a bit of an improvement for sure. I think the Meinl Custom Classic Dark line sounds much better for the same price or less.
Nice clean demo. I like that ride and those hats. Would have been nice to hear some nylon on them, though. My S rock 20 is still one of my favorite rides of all time ( so far )....she might be my favorite all around with that bow ping and bell response, but you can't beat the bell of an oversized bell ride.
I guess if you're on a budget..... Nice trashy crashes. But for me, those hats are still higher pitched and less "complex" than good ol' New Beat hats. If I wanted that higher-pitched tone, I'd personally just look around for a pair of 13's... and get more precision in the bargain.
I rock 12in New Beats and they sound great. Bright and crisp with a defined foot chick. Their half open sound is like a higher pitched version of regular new beats instead of the clanky sound of heavy larger diameter hats that people go for to get a bright crisp closed sound.
where is the dark sound all I hear is a bright Zildjian custom a series and I have real dark cymbals on my kit you may need to check out what is the realm dark sound this just hurts my ears as to how high tented these cymbals are not going to be passing this as a dark cymbal pack. dream paper thing bliss dark matters are what I hear as a dark cymbal pack. I play dark dry cymbals only this is not what is dark to me I have what I see is dark
I agree, these are just dry, bright cymbals. I don't even consider Ks dark until they reach ridiculous prices. dream, Istanbul, Bosphorous, mainly, dow they're dark.
these cymbals they do have a wicked cool look that being said the hats and ride are the only cymbals that sound somewhat good just they could have picked better size for them and the rest sound like trash and not in a good way

These sound interesting. I absolutely love the polished S series! Sound close to my B8 Paiste cymbals.
The S 16'' and 18'' medium thin crashes record a lot better than the Paiste 2002's also.

Medio chapa amigo. Didn't like it as much. The tone is cool but the envelope and some of the harmonics are not the cleanest
Crashes sound like shit. The ride is okay. The hats are the best part and don't sound great either.
These are just a copy of sabians xsr big and ugly monarch series lmao. And the monarchs sound superior by a lot imo lol
XSR is B20 bronze which is preferred by most
