@@d-rantz443 Hi there, you have to have access to the internal memory of the dreadbox medusa. Maybe it's possible with a camera connection kit but tbh I doubt that. Better use a connection via a computer.
@limbicbits bro did you hear something in the realm of vst's which reminded you of medusa? Im looking for some alternative, can u pinpoint where to maybe look? Thanks
Actually, I can't think of a VST with a similar sound. The Medusa has a rather particular character. As that's not for everyone, you can find these quite affordable second hand, though. @@333_Tarot

Bought it, and couldn't be happier with this sound pack, the sound design is top-notch. A list with the name and description of the sounds could be helpful though.
Bought and installed it, but in the end it was too much to use for me, too many parameters probably. Went back to the factory sounds where Bank B is empty except for the sounds. This allows me to follow my own taste more easily, it seems. Nonetheless a worthy experience that helped me , thank you
Still my favorite synthesizer. The latest firmware has added three Operator FM. The operators can use all waveforms. Try FM with the wavetables, it's great.
@hitachi was this an issue that happened from the factory? I was just reading on another thread that they had some issues with shipping faulty units, then charged the customer for return shipping. Mine will hopefully be here Friday, fingers crossed no issues, but wanted to see how frequent this was.
@@blaxploitation no, I was struggling with my midi din in. My Medusa will only take midi notes if daisy chained to another device or on a thrubox. It will accept notes if midi in is assigned to all channels. But that defeats the purpose of assigning a channel with a controller. It doesn’t play particularly nice with the rest of my gear. If I assign midi through USB it works like a champ with no issues. My set up is still moving around a bit as I am replacing gear. I just have it chained to my Erebus in the same channel for some extra oscillators. When my new mixer arrives, I’ll forego din midi and just use USB. I spoke with Jacek, sent it out to a US facility, didn’t cost me anything. The manual was clear I’d be charged for shipping to Poland for repairs/warranty. Jacek did me a solid and had it looked over free of charge in the US. Took about a week for turnaround. Pretty sure my issue is user error. The synth itself is great, and I’d be hesitant to part with it. I’d love to just have the Medusa synth with no pads as I don’t particularly find them useful. Not very sensitive or expressive imo. However I will say the the Medusa is one of my favorite synths I have besides my hydrasynth. The Medusa is portable, pretty damn powerful, and makes some pretty gritty sounds. I’m still working my way around it, but I use it a lot for Bass lines, or decent leads.
@@AbyssalReverberations Wonderful. Thank you so much for the detailed reply, this made me rest a bit easier. Sounds like a couple people are yelling the loudest, which, I should realize by now, is the internet. I planned on putting this in the chain coming from my deluge, and hopefully being able to map each of the 6 oscillators to a different channel on the deluge. Sounds like unless I am doing that VIA usb midi, I am going to have a bad time. Well I will play around and I def appreciate all the backgroundd. Got me more excited for sure!
@@blaxploitation no problem, like I said, might just be user error, there is a midi channel per voice option that I haven’t tested personally, but it’s a great synth and I get it to do what I need it to. Pair with the polyend tracker this thing is a lot of fun to sample, and it has a pretty beefy sequencer with parameter lock. I’m still working on where I am fitting this tool in, but it’s the main synth I practice programming with when I don’t feel like sitting in my “studio” on my hydrasynth. You may love it, you may not like it. I personally think it’s a great piece of kit that offers a lot of variety
Hi, that’s odd. Have you by any chance switched off the machine during the transfer? What you’ve described seems like a corrupted firmware but this theoretically only happens when you’re flashing the firmware during an update and I've never heard that this happens when simply doing a patch dump. I'm not saying it's impossible (as I don't know for sure). If it doesn’t turn on at all, I think the Polyend / Dreadbox support is a better resource to ask. If it turns on, please try to do the following: Is there any error message shown by the polyend Tool? If that’s not the case, I’ve got a gut feeling that it might be the USB connection. Just in case, here’s a trouble shooting showing possible reasons, I’ve developed for other synths. Maybe it helps here, too: A) There had been a USB Hub in between the Computer and the MIDI interface. Eliminate the hub and try to make a direct connection from your computer to your USB MIDI interface. B) Wrong or faulty USB cable. Sometimes, USB cables can’t handle bigger data volumes or data transfers at all, as these are meant for other purposes. I know that sounds strange but I’ve been there, too. Try it with different ones if solution A didn’t work. Fingers crossed!

most underrated synth in a long time
Agreed. But you have to really want that sound character. Medusa is different but that’s exactly what I most like at this synth
@@limbicbits hi , how would you describe the (analog) sound character compared to let's say v Arp Odyssey sound?

Good thing is that the unit is already great as it is. And fairly underrated in my opinion.
