We don’t live near a Sam’s club anymore, but kept our membership because you can order lots of items online with free shipping! It’s been a game changer for diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, etc. I always see what is on instant savings and stock up when we can on items we use.

We do the same!! Our area has a Costco, but I prefer Sam's so we just ship things to us :) and it's always a treat when we go somewhere with a Sam's and can go in!

Scan and Go is the best thing ever invented. It's the only good implementation I've ever seen of this at stores. I feel SO AMAZING when I swipe right and walk past the checkout lines the moment I'm ready to leave the store.
It's great unless you pay cash for items. At our club, to pay cash, you can't use the self pay check out either. One must stand in long lines for cashier.
@@midgeb.2863 Ooo, I bet that is a long wait. They only ever seem to have two standard lanes at my place! This makes sense now, too, I never understood why people used those. I didn't realize self checkout doesn't take cash.
Hey, you know how you tell us to hit the like button and it will turn blue? Now it has little confetti pieces and flashes different colors. So cool!
Their TP (purple wrapper) and their paper towels (orange wrapper) are far and away the BEST paper goods I've used. The TP is on par with any 'fancy' stuff out there, and for cheaper. The rolls are also about 1/2" wider than Quilted Northern, meaning you get just a little more product on each roll! I actually just looked it up:
Member's Mark is 1254.3sf (total over 45 rolls) for $19.98 (44c/roll)
Quilted Northern is 915.3sf (total over 32 rolls) for $21.98 (67c/roll)
And their paper towels are just as good, on par or better than Bounty! Over the past year or so, we've cut down on the amount of PTs we use, so this isn't the same as everyone, but a 35-pk of paper towels has lasted us almost a full year! The package we're using now was purchased in September '21, and we have 2 rolls left! Also, they're "select-a-size," so you can pull off a half-sheet, if that's all you need (and ususally is, because they're so good).
These are ALWAYS why we go to Sams!

Select a size is great saves alot!! We got thru covid bs with 1 pkg the sizing made the difference and we didnt use them unless it was very necessary!
I was really disappointed last time me and my husband went because they were out of both Member's Mark toilet paper and paper towels and we still needed to buy something anyway. We love the quality of Sam's store brand paper products!
Since all of the toilet paper and paper towel companies have changed the sizes of things the only way to actually find out how much tp or paper towels you’re getting is by weight!!!
I actually prefer Sam's over Costco. I have a small family so I don't want giant jars I can't finish. Here they will have 3-4 smaller jars to the 1 or 2 at Costco. More portioned out an easier to use.
I prefer Costco but I’ll agree with you on that one! I feel like the portion sizes at Sam’s is more “small family” friendly.
The cash back I get from the Plus membership is often around $150, so totally worth it depending on how much you spend. Plus the early shopping hours are 👌🏼

Yes! I planned on using my cash back to pay for next years membership. You get Sam’s Cash for every in store purchase. You have to have the Plus membership though.

Groupon often has promos. As a one-person household, I am able to buy numerous items at Sam's that I stick up on. My regular purchases are: frozen fruits, half & half, butter, bakery muffins and turnovers, Green Mtn K-Cups, pet supplements and pill pockets, trash bags, TP, paper towels,. Oxyclean. My nextdoor neighbor (also a one-person household) belongs to Costco. We shop for each other at the club stores so we each get to benefit from the sales at each warehouse club.
My favorite tip for Sam's membership is to get the business membership for $100 a year because I live over an hour from any club but I can order all of my non fresh food items and have them delivered to my home for free! Laundry soap, personal care, any type of snack foods or shelf stable foods, paper towels, paper plates, toilet paper etc. Best investment because I know I will most likely get it at the best price and I get the advantage of stocking up without having to use the gas to drive an hour to get what I want!

I get the $100 membership for the rebate. Mine hits in the spring. I made sure I shopped extra or big purchases (like mattress and tv) while rebate was building. I then used my rebate for both my kids' grad parties. I had enough in rebate to pay for at least meats and much of the rest of party-it was a God send! On years where no party is planned I use to get things like next years membership fees, underwear, socks, clothing gifts for Christmas, or treat myself to something new. It really is worth the extra🙂
I bought the restaurant size foil at Costco and I’m on year 6 and still got plenty on the roll. I bought a back up roll in March 2020 just because I was stocking up so can you even imagine how much money I’m saving by not buying foil for the next 8 years with these price increases!
My favorite thing to buy at Sam’s is their rotisserie chicken. It’s delicious and you can cut it up and use it for 2 or 3 recipes. I’m a retired single so I only shop there if I can store the large quantities they have. My church gets most of their supplies there as they are much cheaper and better quality than anywhere else; e.g. TP, paper towels, office supplies, etc.

Very true. Some items have a special bonus discount for using Scan and Go. The price signs will show both the regular price and the scan and go price. Sometimes up to an extra dollar off when using scan and go.

I see a line down the isle for check out and wonder if I'm the only one that knows about the app. I've seen folks on their phones in line, and ask if they know, and they didnt. They need to advertise that more.
Even with scan and go you still have to wait in line for them to scan your phone and items in the cart. I can’t just scan and walk past everyone. They have two lines for getting out of the store, but you can’t just push people out of the way to get out. They don’t have a sign saying “only scan and go this lane.”
I think one of the most important things while shopping at Sam's Club (we just got our membership a month or so ago) is knowing what is a good price and what isn't. We found a lot of the fresh food couldn't beat our local Kroger (even the meat). For us, the best buys are household cleaners and bathroom items (deodorant, toothpaste, etc).
I take the opportunity to show my kids that very thing - taking the total amount/items for something and dividing it by the price. Lots of great deals there at Sam's but sometimes it really isn't a bargain - coupled with the fact that you may buy more than you could consume before the item goes bad. Cereal though usually is a good buy and we tend to go through it...
I never paid attention to their free prescriptions before - thanks for listing them. I have three on that list. That will make a difference and get me in the store more.
Facts about the Membership Deals. When it was time for renewal, I got the super bowl deal by having my husband sign up. So we got a Membership for only $8.
When I got a Membership it was a 20 dollar on Groupon. I still have yet to pay full price for a Membership. :)
I did the same. It was a great incentive! Plus, Costco usually only has organic versions of things where at Sam's, you can often chose between organic and non. Sometimes I want organic apples, but I don't need organic maple syrup!

My favorite thing about Sam's club is Plus membership I believe that it's so worth it. You get 2% back, you can come into store at 8:00 a.m., and shipping for a lot of things is free.
We have the plus membership, I love it for the earlier hours availability , free shipping and cash back. The cash alone has paid for itself.
I use the plastic bags from grocery stores as garbage bags & soil bags for trash. The big, netted plastic pet food bags I use to put kitchen compost in, they have added strength.
Re: foil and plastic wrap....entirely, completely unrelated...I made 6 months of contact lenses last 3 years! Any optometrists or ophthalmologists are probably screaming at the screen right now. I was in a very hard financial spot w/ no insurance. I took very good care of them and never, ever slept in them. I still don't. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!

The Sam's club plus membership is worth the extra cost. Curbside pickup is free so I can order what we need and not end up with impulse purchases. You get 2% Cashback on in club and curbside pickup purchases and you can order online and have some items shipped for free.
We have the plus membership and the Sam’s MasterCard, which we use to pay for pretty much everything, and the rewards-now called Sam’s Cash-are enough to pay for our membership AND stock our meat freezers a couple times a year. If you can handle having a credit card, it’s a solid hack!

My husband and I eat at Sam’s Cafe at least once a week for lunch after filling our vehicle with gas. We buy our tires from Sam’s because they offer the best deal on our truck tires. My husband loves their ready made white chicken enchiladas and I love their sushi. We buy so much more from Sam’s as well, those are just our favorites.
Thanks for sharing! In Michigan, you can also get liquor and tobacco products without having a membership. The state law highly regulates the prices on those things and businesses have to offer fair & equal pricing on those items regardless of membership status (it is like that in several other states, too).

How about buying a bottle of water for a quarter! That is right a quarter, I shop, then on the way out I stop at the vending machine to get my water. Nice & cold. I do like the $100 yr membership, besides getting in the store much earlier, I can shop on line & get free shipping.. Love their return policy, never any issues. So many reasons to shop Sam's.
I'm 65 years old, when I was six in first grade, I can remember buying Hot Tamali's candy during recess. They have been around that long.
The plus membership is great, $100, but you get cash back. I always end up with about $150 a year back, so it more than pays for itself. There is free shipping on most things as well. I can order things, not only for my family to be shipped to our house, but they will also deliver to my mom's house too and she doesn't have a membership, its just through mine. In her area, they do delivery to the house too. There are also deals on medicine, optical, tires, etc.

My hubby freaked out when I used the scan an go for the first time. He told me to get in line and I laughed and said paid for while I handed my phone to the kid at the door. Was not standing in line for 3 things. Plus the scan and go works for the gas pumps also.

Our local SC is really promoting the scan and go right now but I've been using it for years. Never knew about the letter on price signs though so thanks for the heads up on that one. For snacks I usually only get Annies Boom Chicka Pop and the Canyons potato chips. So good/great price. Might have to finally breakdown and get those Aussie bites.
Sharing things like the rice and large lb items is always good, with a friend/neighbor. Beans, bread, rice, etc if you don't have room. Great video!

I love to write dates on things see how long it last, I do same thing on dressing and sauces etc in the fridge, so easy to forget how many years you've had something...LOL I also write 1 of 5 or 1 of 3 or what ever helps keep track of how many I have left in storage.

YES! I love Sam's Club for so many things. I recommend getting your big bulk rice, pinto beans, and oil, as well as spices and other long term preparedness items there.
I love sams for many items, toilet paper & paper towels are great. I also shop online and they will load my car. There are no minimums, I have picked up lettuce & Blueberries, with no problem
I noticed one day, a trailer set up in front of Sam's selling Key Making. I think they handled those expensive key fobs that have clickers. Those are not cheap other wise. Yes Walmart & Sam's allows overnight parking when closed.

Great tips! Just a side note on the "membership not required" at the food court.... The food court at the Sam's in our area (NorCal) has a sign that says membership required, so maybe it varies per store or state.

I love Sam’s for so many reasons. The free delivery with the plus membership is awesome. Saves time and money. Only order once a month. Also have a Costco membership their cake is the best. Full sheet cakes for $20. Grand parties, baby showers and birthdays always my go to.

Great tips! I used to buy baby formula & diapers from Sam's. Bigger packages meant not having to shop as often and the prices were fantastic.
I like to order online from Sam's. I go through Rakuten and get money back. I go to the store for pick up and they load my items in the car for me. I have the Plus card and get money back and just recently got a Mastercard credit card that pays even more money back on all of my purchases, including gasoline. When the bill comes on I pay it off (same as paying cash as I go). Since February, I've earned almost $50, which I can apply towards purchases or I can get it back in cash. It's been working great for me.

I adore Sam’s grocery pickup! It keeps me in budget and I can usually get my order the very next day. Sometimes even in the same day! It’s a huge time saver. We love Walmarts pickup as well.

In our area both the scan and go and the order online for pickup saves the cost of sales tax on your order. Sales tax on non food items is usually almost 10% and they cover that if you do pickup or scan and go. I’ve also seen a monthly sweepstakes where every scan and go was entered in a random drawing for a $1,000 gift card.
Also, for our flu shot last year Sams pharmacy with the premium membership was much cheaper than anywhere else. Even using insurance. We saved more than the difference between the basic membership and the premium in just the cost savings on the vaccines for my wife and I.

Cafe Suggestion- there's a really fancy (and expensive) churro & ice cream shop where I live. Took the kids to Sam's instead, spent about $7 and everyone had churro & fro yo!
We are a small family of three (plus 3 cats), so I've never had a membership to a store like Sam's because large bulk buys don't seem like the smart way to go on most items. But now that we're all doing the 'what if' prepping, I',m seeing it in a different light. And last year, my YA daughter's boyfriend (Sam Club member) bought me a ginormous 15-rolls pkg of Sam's paper towels, said he paid around $16 for it. OMGsh - best paper towels ever! That pkg lasted almost a year I'm very tempted to join just to get those, lol. Thanks for the tip about waiting until they have membership promos!

There are often discounts on the subscription through some employers and sites like Tickets at Work. The cash back on premium pays for the expanded membership if you shop there often enough for the family. We also order online and have it delivered.

I just signed up for a membership this morning before seeing this video was posted! Right now they have a deal - $14.99 for the membership and they give you a $10 gift card back, so basically like a $5 membership!
I love scan and go in the store and using it at the pump. I also have the Sam's Mastercard Plus membership which is $100 a year which includes the card and the membership. I more than make that back each year in cash back and can be used everywhere. My very favorite thing is pickup. I like to go in the store for fresh meat and produce, but it sure is nice to have pickup for charcoal, pop, and things like cases of water.

If you aren't sure about the membership you can also ask friends to take you and have a look. If you want something you can give/send them the money. I did that with a membership market here.
If you don’t pick up a rotisserie chicken every time you walk into Sam’s, you’re doing it wrong! They sell those things for below cost. They are delicious and already cooked. So many things you can do with it!
Thx for the pharmacy hack, just moved over 3 of my husband's medications from Walmart and now they are free. The pharmacist stated "that our other medications may also come out cheaper at Sam's club pharmacy, then using our insurance". Can't wait to find out!
My husband takes Zetia for his cholesterol. It is $140 with his insurance at CVS; $170 at sams. But it is $17 at sams with cash price. That discount pays for my membership.

With the free meds the plus card plays for itself. And is well worth it in the end. So many benefits from it that I can see. I'm glad I didn't get a regular Sam's card. I also like going early before everyone else goes in.
