Thank you, Pam, this has really helped me understand about using brushstrokes in watercolor, something I've had trouble getting through my thick skull for a long time! ;-D You're a wonderful artist and such a charming person!
Love this tutorial ❤ When I look at the lips, they look a little too wide...cud be just my perspective!?!?. I always line up the the edge of lips with the eye iris or white or in adults the pupil etc.
Is it just me or is there some other broadcast coming through behind Pams voice??!!!!???? Someone on her demo is listening to something else & it's coming through on her video!
I forgot to suggest that you could try grabbing a screen shot of the drawing...on a Mac, hold down the Command and Shift keys then press the number 4, then select the area of the screen you want and press return...
I love the way she uses her brush strokes to emphasize the facial shapes.. other than that I absolutely hate the colors in the hair and the face.. different strokes for different fokes .. too harsh for this beautiful little girl..
Thank you so much. I from the Netherlands and I love youre style.
That’s amazing!
Thank you so much for sharing! Love your explanations and I learned a lot and my next painting tomorrow will be of one of my grandsons!
Wow. This is amazing!!!!! Thanks for sharing this!

You said your painting on a hot press do you prefer hot press, or cold press for painting faces?
I believe she almost always uses hot pressed....
I love Pam's portrait demo in Watercolor artist magazine winter 2024. Very instructive.
great demo ...lit!
demo starts approx. 23:40

I think the moderator left there mic open, people don't realize there mic picks up everything!

Hadn't noticed that but one of the participants probably did not mute her mic...At some point it should have gone away....
Yes, I noticed the same. It’s a political podcast of some kind. Sounds like Tucker Carlson.
@mojo2024 Thanks mojo!
Do you ever paint wet in wet? Just curious
Good question...my best guess is no....she may blend a few washes together, but using wet on dry...
Is the sketch available anywhere to give it a go ourselves?

She just uses an ordinary printer since her workshop references are small..
Tv in background spoilt my experience
