I'm not typically a fan of cafe and bobber-type builds, but dang you made this thing look great. Many restomods I see made the back end look tiny, like it's on little chicken legs. I really love this, and the color is beautiful. Great job!
Thanks Jake. Everything you mentioned is exactly the things that I worked very hard to make sure it doesn't look like lol I always think the same things when I see Japanese restaurant mod builds. The stepped frame design on most of these bikes make it very difficult to modify and simply bolting something on it will not work! I like my work to be clean and simple and look almost as if Honda would have made it like that originally. Well that's at least my goal lol thanks for the comments again have a great day
I really dig this WING BUILD its exactly what I want to do with a classic 1982 HONDA WING its a piece of art. Its the best sounding Honda WING BUILD I have heard love the pipes. I like how you kept the original Tank and made the bike look like a factory bike with extras and no half ass mods. The only change I would make on mine would be to find the BIG BEEFY Front SHOCK Lower TUBE BRACE that I have seen on some builds but have never seen on a factory bike of that year I am not sure were they got the beefy cross braced forks from but it really makes the HONDA look unstoppable.
thank you everybody for the public comments I can't please them all but I do appreciate you guys all give me the feedback and hope the comments keep coming thank you
Just recently acquired a new to me GL1100 and im very impressed at that tail fender piece. How did you mock that up? I'd really love to know and take inspiration from your building! Spectacular build! Thanks!
Beautiful work! What bars, pipes and headlight brackets did you use? Starting on my ‘83 this year that my Dad gave me before he passed. It was my first bike, I’d like to do right by him!
Gorgeous bike and I see it's sold 4 to 5 years ago - if anybody's catching this and can pass along a message to the owner.. I'm wondering if there's any interest in selling the bike again
Nice work bro,. I'm startn on my 81 gl1100. Hope to copy ur seat pan with foam and glass, you got it just right. Quick question, tire size? What will that bike take?
@@blkbtch Man I love this engine, and another one did the same job with a Walkyrie motor that running with Weber's Porsche carbs, but your is still a Gold as its first sight, and with some of good taste. in french we say "équilibrée et racée" ! congratulations again.
Picking up an 83 running. Going for a similar build but with more seat (mama bear) and a satin green and black paint scheme. What headlight did you use? So happy to see a visor on it. Really completes the look.
Grubbsgarage.com amazing detail and sound excellent. I'm looking at doing this project and you really hit it out of the park. Don't worry, I won't steal the paint combo....but I'd like to.
It went to Texas is all I know I've never heard from the guy again it was a wonderful bike I'm sure he's enjoying it. This is one of the ones I'd like to have back
Those are Pro Taper YZ style dirt bike bars. They come with a top pad bar that is removable. Just take it off and presto! You can buy them in many spots online for about $40
Beautiful work Bike is gorgeous. That headlight rubbish sorry. A bike like that deserve a proper headlight close to the forks. more tight But like i say beautiful
there is a guy in my area who has 2 non running goldwings....i want them but i dont know how to ride motorcycles yet....a friend told me its really a bad idea to start with a goldwing ....LOL
there are several websites with people that enjoy the GL series of motorcycle. The best thing in the only way I think it works the best is buying one and starting to take it apart with a factory service manual. Get an original one OEM from Honda and then you'll have everything you need to start what you need as far as painting excetera those are skills you just have to learn by doing
@Malik Martin thanks for the super cool reply, I appreciate that I build these bikes as a labor of love and try to recoup as much of the money as I can. But you know how it is lot of people don't have the money nor can they appreciate art like this until the person is popular and then they'll start paying the cash that it requires to make up the difference.
Awsome!! not over done .. keeping its form and character
All your builds look factory, like concepts bikes from the factory, amazing work.
Certainly one of the best of it's style that I've seen.

I have to say, this is one of the nicest...if not the nicest, GL's that I've seen.
I can’t stop looking at it.
Awesome! What exhaust did you put on it ? ✌🏼

Sick job. Always wondered what a golding could be as a bobber. Bravo sir
This isn't a bobber, bobbers are ugly
Absolutely stunning transformation!
Omg this must be the best customisation of GL1100 I ever saw!!! Shame I can’t afford it.
best looking goldwing i've ever seen...
looks freaking clean! great job!
This is so good looking! Well done
Absolutly brilliant job
Great restoration!!! Love it. Your awesome, keep’em coming
Thanks brother.
thank you everybody for the public comments I can't please them all but I do appreciate you guys all give me the feedback and hope the comments keep coming thank you
Great job buddy 👍
stunning build,classic retro cool.
at last a resto with some class, would be nice to see all frame welds smoothed off, but seriously lovely, and that sound is awesome.
Love it! You did an amazing job!
Just recently acquired a new to me GL1100 and im very impressed at that tail fender piece. How did you mock that up? I'd really love to know and take inspiration from your building! Spectacular build! Thanks!
Impeccable! Bravo!
Gorgeous bike!
It loooks really clean and musclely
Thanks. Much appreciated:)
You do amazing work! 💯👍🏻🇨🇦
Thank you!
🏍️ 👍🍾💥 definitely jewellery on wheels.
Did you fabricate the rear fender and handlebars?
beautiful bike
is GL1100 engine rebuild more complicated then GL1000 ?
I have an '80 gl1100 standard and this is exactly how I want it restored
That's what I do!
Wanna do this to an 82 GL. How much did you put into it ? $
What's with replacing perfectly comfortable seat for this flat crap looking one?
What color is that
Nice build.
Wonderful!!!
Where can I find bikes like this 82 Goldwing for sale?
Beautiful work! What bars, pipes and headlight brackets did you use? Starting on my ‘83 this year that my Dad gave me before he passed. It was my first bike, I’d like to do right by him!
OEM headlight bracket. Modified OEM exhaust, yz style dirt bike bars . Hope that helps good luck with your dad's bike
Hi. Is that a custom seat? I would like to have one for my 82.
Yes that is a custom seat. I would have to have your motorcycle in my shop because I make the fenders and seat together and do it per bike
What shocks are on the rear?
Progressive brand 12.5 inch
Gorgeous bike and I see it's sold 4 to 5 years ago - if anybody's catching this and can pass along a message to the owner.. I'm wondering if there's any interest in selling the bike again
Wonderful paint work. Is that frame powder coated? It has a very nice shine to it.
It is all sprayed with House of Kolor paints and pearls.
What seat is this?
From 75 to 79 everyone was putting a fairing on these, and after that Honda themselves. Now all those fairings are coming off.
Oh i use those fairings also! They look great after modification!
@@blkbtch They were fugly but they made long rides in foul conditions a whole lot more bearable!
Any idea what it weighs?
Bout 550
do you call your van Jaws too?
Awesome !!
Did you cut the tab from the frame in the back?
Yes
Very very nice good👍❤
What color did you paint the engine?
The color is called "polished metal metallic" it is an Acura color from 2007.
What pipes do have on it.. Superb sound!!
Factory modified slightly
Hey man what is the brand of your rear suspension.
They are progressive brand
Nice work bro,. I'm startn on my 81 gl1100. Hope to copy ur seat pan with foam and glass, you got it just right. Quick question, tire size? What will that bike take?
OEM tire size
best goldwing i've seen ever ! the saddle is a piece of art, bravo ! did you just shortened those genuine pipes??
I made the seat pan and all the family to the fender. Thank you for the compliments! The exhaust is OEM with a modified tip, no baffles.
@@blkbtch Man I love this engine, and another one did the same job with a Walkyrie motor that running with Weber's Porsche carbs, but your is still a Gold as its first sight, and with some of good taste. in french we say "équilibrée et racée" ! congratulations again.

Ive thought of making detachable seats on the rear fender on a future build.
hey man can i ask what handlebars those are?
nevermind I saw your other comments. great bike nonetheless. I can't imagine having enough time to do this and I'm in high school!
AWESOME!!!👌🏽🔥
Looks so smooth. Are those the original pipes cut down?
Those are original pipes and I used a piece of exhaust from another system to actually taper down on the tip of the baffle like you see.
Grubbsgarage.com amazing detail and sound excellent. I'm looking at doing this project and you really hit it out of the park. Don't worry, I won't steal the paint combo....but I'd like to.
that bike will spank all kinds of Harleys ! A true old school muscle bike and it totally looks the part.
Outstanding.
what ever happened to this bike? Did the buyer ride it or keep it as a show bike?
It went to Texas is all I know I've never heard from the guy again it was a wonderful bike I'm sure he's enjoying it. This is one of the ones I'd like to have back
Love it!
What is that paint code?
I love your seat
... Who s made this?
I fabricated the seat and rear fender.
Killer. What product did you use to polish those Comstars?
The wheels are Painted with a white pinstripe
Awesome! I'm currently working on an 84 GL1200. Who did the work on the seat? I would love a 2-seater cafe bike.
I actually built the seat myself I had to fabricate the seat pan and then I fabricated all the foam,as well as the cover.
Great bike.
Please tell me what handle bar is it? and where you bought it?
Those are Pro Taper YZ style dirt bike bars. They come with a top pad bar that is removable. Just take it off and presto! You can buy them in many spots online for about $40
Nice bike dude ,what speed will it do,,
I have no idea!
Can you tell me how you did the exhaust?
Factory baffles with a small reversed cone over the rear. I cut off the OEM tail pipes
What are the shocks?
The shocks are 11.5 in standard motorcycle
👍👍👍👏👏👏. The Best. Brazil.
I had an Econoline like that, years ago.
Woooooooooow ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥
Stunning!!! did you build the seat yourself?
Yes I did. I've recorded everything at my website Grubbsgarage.com
Thank you for the support!👍
@@blkbtch sorry, asked about seat above before checking comments!

Great bikes. Good center of gravity. Maybe more of an intermediate bike.
Beautiful! I have an 81 GL1100. can you point me in the right direction as far as a "beginner's guide to restoring and converting"?
