I started watching your videos the day before yesterday. Very informative and I like them very much. Keep up the good work and thanks. Very nice videos.

ED, as a man of approx same age and mind set, I find your videos an invaluable source of information. Keep up the good work and hope to see you one day on my travels buddy. PS, c,mon the reds.
Hi Eddie. Did that Perfume Pagoda trip North of Hanoi back in 1999. A little different then no cable car. Wonderfull boat ride up the river with beautifull scenery. My wife is Vietnamese and we go to Vietnam fairly often. Our trip in 1999 was for six weeks.
I really love the sleeper buses. My girlfriend organised a posh sleeper bus and it was absolutly amazing. To get to dalat was so special, its my most clear memory. They gave us a blanket before leaving because air conditioning was that efficient. I had a terrible experience in a small van from Danang to Hue and back with car sickness and migraine. They need to bring this sleeper bus to Australia. We have our cities so damn far apart. Plane is the only way to travel. Buses are rigid upright seats and never comfortable may as well take plane. Our trains are horrible. A lot slower than car.
I Love Vietnam so much to offer and hopefully back there later this year! Im not sure I could do that bus big respect Eddie. As always interesting vlog and big Thumbs up! Cheers
Best bus seats I’ve ever seen..... Where else can you lay down on a bus for 5hrs for $5? 😍 Seriously tempted to check out Vietnam now Eddie, done Thailand and Philippines to death, and Cambodia once 🇻🇳
Youd love that bus if youd had a few sherberts Eddie.... Great video as per.. Im planning on Vietnam early next year... Depending on how the world is..... Thanks for the info!...
Thanks Eddie, nice vlog, i am a traveller and fear that we are in for the long haul, no travelling for a couple of years or more, i hope i am wrong, cheers.
Another great vid !! Hey - professional transitions... nice ! I do hope to get to Hoi An and Da Nang on my next trip but as you pointed out there are a lot of cool day trips out of Ha Noi as well. Been to a lot of those already in Sai Gon. For me, I've worked in 5 and 4 star hotels in NYC and I'd stay most likely like you do in the mid-range places, but I'd also like to visit some of those resorts maybe just to eat and look around... Cheers !!
Yet another incredibly informative , well edited video. Always pleased to see your uploads and I also watch the ads to help with your ad cents. Keep ‘EM coming steady Eddie!
Hiya Double Act another top quality video . 5 🌟 ... looking promising with Covid 19 seems to be burning itself out . My opinion is it’s culled the weak and vulnerable and now it’s finding it hard to make an impact . Hope I’m right .
Great information, good find on that hotel in Nha Trang. I have already searched it out on the map. Texted my girlfriend and told her about it. She likes it too. Thanks Eddy.Probably even check out the Hoi An one too. That’s our trip. Will end up in Dalat and our other favorite place on the coast. The sleeper buses are great for us .I was on 2 different ones . There are different levels of comfort . Cheap and cheaper. I don’t have a problem sleeping so it’s a great way to save a night at a hotel and get to the next destination overnight.Example , leave Saigon on a sleeper bus at 10 pm. Travel 7 hours to the coast arriving at 5 am or 6 . Just in time for a morning swim, coffee and a walk around.I know Nha Trang is pricey at 25 usd a night. Try Phan Rang guys. Yes there are 25 - 40 usd resorts there but we stay On the beach for 15 weekdays 17 usd weekends.Phan Rang is for those that like to see the country away from all the other tourist. Kite surfing, nice beach, Phan Rang right on the beach, rent a scooter and head north one day . South the other day. Rent a scooter for a few days and travel north out of Phan Rang to Vinh Hy . Stay in Vinh Hy a couple days and just moto a bit more north. I have said too much. Cheers mates.🍺
Good to see another video. And yes, it wine time for me. Thank you for showing us the Asian world. I have been to Thailand, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines. Sexy ladys in Vietnam, and pretty much anywhere south of Thailand. I never discount Thailand as that's where I'm moving to in 2 years
These videos are really useful Eddie and have reignited my desire to go back to Vietnam, so many thanks. Hope you are keeping well in the lockdown. The only good thing for me is that as I am not allowed in the pubs to hang around with my barfly mates I am managing to save a lot of money to go travelling when we do finally get let off the leash!.All the best.
Hi Eddie, Dan from Scotland here. I like your style and personality, they make your vids a great watch . Ive been to Philippines many times and Thailand a couple of times, your vids have seriously got me thinking about exploring Vietnam and Cambodia. If our paths ever cross Id be more than happy to have a beer with you, keep up the good work pal.
cheers eddie for the good tips ,i have never been to vietnam but it is high on the list ,i only get 6 weeks holidays which i spend every second in thailand ,but one day i will travel all over se asia,i cannot wait
Suggestion: You may want to do a video of pros and cons of each main country/city you’ve visited. Sort of a master overview of all of them in one video.
Nicely done I like your budget it is the same as mine as you say fantastic value you have given a really good example of prices which I have also experienced A1 for detail with examples
Nice hotels with breakfast, what I usually pay in Thailand without breakfast, so good for me. The buses I would like if the seats could be put in sitting position, is that possible Edward. Nice vid again pal.
Hi, Graham. You do have to check with the bus companies in Vietnam to make sure you know what you're getting. I've been on overnight seating buses in past. Some like those reclining buses, some don't. If you're getting on a bit make sure you don't have to climb to an upper level seat!
Great informative video as always, Eddie... I'll be in Ho Chi Minh City and Southern Vietnam, also Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville in February and March, God willing, if these "viruses" don't make a comeback 🙏... I know you're busy but could you recommend a beach location near HCMC, say a few hours away by bus? It would be much appreciated, mate... BTW, I still have that €399 rtn fare DUB - SGN via FRA with Lufthansa... But not sure if it also goes via KUL and the KUL - SGN - KUL is with Malaysian Airlines... Waiting for confirmation from Lufthansa.
Hey Eddie. I've just seen on the Internet that Vietnam is open to foreigners of 80 countries from July 1st. And the UK is on that list. Better book my flight to Hanoi for the winter.
Traveling overseas can be quite treacherous but if you follow Steady Eddie's helpful guidelines, your travels will be more steady and you won't end up deady!
Very nicely put, Jimmy. There are still so many obstacles in the way of travel, but as least the Asian peak season is months away so it can all change. Hope you are keeping well, mate.

When I go Thailand and Cambodia my mates just want to get pissed up wake up late and sit in pool on afternoons drinking and ordering in pizza and subways or kfc the never leave the hotel bar and pool until night times. Could you mention the name of the hotel you stayed at in Mui Ne and Saigon? You may have in other videos but I can’t recall. I got a 90-day extension on my visa, so I hope to visit those cities from my current home in Nha Trang.
Ride a bike across the river. See the more local areas. I do this in other cities. I got lost in hua and people at a local bus station looked surprised to see a old white guy. I think they were laughing at me.
I was in Vietnam in 2018. Food and hotels were good bargains, however, many street vendors and taxi drivers are scammers. Taxi drivers at airports, bus and train stations are scammers. If you talk to them, they assume you’re using their service and will immediately grab your luggage and quickly put it in their trunk. My first ride cost me 150 000 VD ($6.50 USD). I was charged a flat rate. I learned later it should have costed me only around $2. The ride was only about 7 minutes to my hotel. I downloaded Grabtaxi afterwards. I know $6.50 isn’t much to cry over, but the thought of being duped annoys me. The average worker there only makes around 200 000 VD per day.
Good info Eddy I fancy a trip on one of those buses just for the experience im only 5 ft 8 so I should fit just fine there . And if im tired I can sleep are there any toilets on them cheers
"...the dollar is a currency that vietnamese understand!". i bet they do! i've been watching a ten-part documentary film about the vietnam war. when you see how americans and vietnamese fought against each other, killing each other mercilessly, one can't help wondering for which purpose? as always, fantastic comments, Eddie! i'd advice people to read your poems. thumb upp # 567

Nice one steady, I'm hitting thailand for my first 3 months but need to do border runs after that , can I fly to Vietnam without any visa for a 30 day stay mate ??
wayne bevan I believe some countries in Europe have a 14 day Visa free. We are from Canada 🇨🇦 and we needed a visa. You need a invitation letter $25 US. Via computer and $50 US when you arrive. So $ 75. US. But it’s worse it. Loved Vietnam. Been there twice. Different places.
Thanks guys and girls for your imput, I'm hopefully flying out to Thailand beginning of November for three months, then to Vietnam for month , then back to Thailand for two months, unless I get used to Vietnam and learn the rules

Backpacker hostels are for all ages. It is the best way to meet people when you travel alone as well and for 5 dollars its hard to beat.
Depends on how much you value your comfort, not for me I’m afraid- nothing less than a 4* - you get what you pay for in this world
