As a French I think that her accent is very cute. Even in France we have so many different accent (Sud, Ch'ti,...) , and then other nations (Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, many African countries, Louisiana) that there is not really a single official French accent.
I am annoyed by vial comments about her french pronunciation. Lady's and her fellows musicianship and showmanship is absolutely outstanding. Listening the other renditions of this song (including original) after this one, is like taking a sleeping pill. Awesome, gorgeous, classy. I don't give a hoot about french, it sounds authentic for English speaker, and that is good enough.
The tough thing is that Francoise Hardy, Jane Birkin & other women who sang this are immortals. That makes this singer's climb a very steep one. The band is quite nice though
to sing live on stage, she's good. I read comments her french pronunciation was incorrect but if it was for English audience that's good enough. She's not french, she tried her best. this happens when singers sing in other language

This song is a cover of an American song called 'It hurts to say goodbye by Margaret Whiting. It is not originally a French song.
It was also covered by Vera Lynn - but neither hold a candle to the version by the late and much lamented Francoise Hardy!
