I'm a metal singer and singing teacher. I specialize in distortions - what people would call false cord, vocal fry, screaming, growling, grunting, grit, rasp, yelling. Basically, vocal texture!

By far the best and most accurate explanation for the dreaded TA and CT. Masterpiece. And finally something that's easy to understand.

Hey Aliki, awesome as always so thanks, I am looking for the name of the technique for the kind of grit you'd hear from Sebastian Bach, what would you call that? Most of the videos I see about different types of grit/distortion seem to be heavier than what he's doing. Is it Pharyngeal distortion? Also, is this something you could teach in private lessons?
