Bird and Magic gathered the local fans to watch basketball than MJ took it to a whole different level both in the US and internationally. We are also talking about rivals here. All went up against each other. KD and Steph were together in their primes. Not to mention how Kawhi, especially at his peak, has a claim in there. 2 Finals MVPs, 2 rings, one of them being maybe the most iconic championship run in the current big 3 era.

#2- 2012 Kobe/Bron/KD/Carmelo Big 4 (Arguably better than '92) at least Kobe thought so
    #3- 2024 Bron/Curry/KD Big 3

Why are we talking about championships? I hate that people act like basketball is an individual sport. A single player can’t dominate the way they could in the past because the average player is way better than they were in the past. This will continue to happen as the game evolves, but it will happen more slowly. It happens in all sports.

MJ entered the NBA in 84. Magic and Larry in 79. Only 5 years difference.
Lefraud entered in 03, KD in 07 and Curry in 09. 4 and 6 years gap between those 3.
So I don’t know what kind of foolery narrative you are trying to create here.

@@rayleigh8 MJ isn’t really grouped with Magic and Bird because they hit their peak in the '80s, while Jordan took over in the '90s. Magic and Bird were the big names in the '80s, but Jordan became the face of the league in the '90s and took it to another level. So, even though their careers overlapped, they’re seen as defining different eras. MJ never faced Magic in the finals and never beat Bird in the playoffs. MJ was never in real competition with those two. But you seem hellbent on defining era as overlapping careers so why wouldn't Wemby and LeBron be in the same era by your own standard?

Championship window is a bad metric. 92 was Larry's last year where he was good for 45 games. Magic was already 1 year removed from the nba due to hiv and would never return to being great, mj was in his prime.. it feels like cheating to compare dudes who were great at but literally on their last legs then tact on Jordan's tenure, with EVERYONE truly competing and against each other. As an Olympic trio, the older three are riding on Jordan's youth. Nobody is doubting the ability of kd curry and steph on this Olympic team.

Because back in the day they wanted to compete against the best and not join them. Also why do they love comparing this era with back then?
