    Thanks for the video.
Getting the core out after all disconnects made was extremely difficult.
There are some kind of factory clips right where the core lines penetrate the firewall.
I cut them off and pushed the flared ends back into engine compartment.
    I absolutely used this video.
    Thanks again.

Im having some serious trouble with "but then that heater core should just slide out 3:30
I see from other videos and the chilton manual that pre 2003 models have another retaining clip whete the tubes go through the firewall, I wonder if there's some less accessible bullpoo that Chevy replaced that with that's giving us grief

Is it recommended when replacing the heater core to also do the water pump & radiator to prevent the build up again?

I would flush it out really good and replace the radiator. I would only replace the water pump if its leaking.

Is there a water control valve below the hose connection?

A flush back wouldn't do the job??

I did do that the year before and it gave him a little heat. But then it just stopped working again. The stuff in the heater core was rock hard. So no flushing it wouldn't do the job. Thanks for watching

The problem was the owner used a gasket sealer mest up the heater core he didn't know how to use it 😂 your need to take the thermostat off add the sealer liquid follow the instructions
