I have the time to study this a little better...you nailed it for sure. I LOVE this lick! Thanks a bunch for the great lesson....there's a ton of licks in there you can use in many other tunes....baddass! You gonna get to the rest of the leads? Great stuff....I especially love the two guitar harmonics near the end. I've always said...I'll listen to anything...so long as it's Lynyrd Skynyrd! hehe Lexington Lab Band rocks this tune big time!
The music world was robbed of an incredibly talented and all too often underrated Steve Gaines, who knows what he would have done if he would have gotten the opportunity and the time.
I cant help but feel we only saw a very small glimpse of the greatness of Steve Gaines, RIP. Your opening solo was fantastic and you really nailed the sound and spirit of Steve's technique! Thanks!
Thanks Mark, Gaines was an awesome guitarist. And this is a terrific tune.
good job Mark. I used to play this song in a band using my 1981 Les Paul. People would go crazy. Now I can learn the lead correctly.
Yeah Steve has a couple solos on this one. Killer
Oh man I’ve been looking forever for a good tutorial of this song!!! I’ve only just gotten through this video but you are the BEST! It’s so hard to find good breakdowns of songs that are presented in a friendly, clear, concise, and easy going way. You’re awesome! Subscribed immediately. Thanks so much for this!!
Thank you for posting this lesson - very articulate and well presented. Thanks again.
Thanks Mark for this wonderful lesson. Keep up on the Skynyrd lesson. Would love to see more Southern Rock including Molly Hattchet and The Outlaws!
Wow, I’ve gotta say, you’re an inspiration to me, the way you play is not only dead on note for note to the exact same, your way of teaching is the easiest to follow and understand that I’ve found on UA-cam, this is the only video I’ve seen of yours so far but if you can play Steve Gaines note for note as great as you did, then you can do anything and I’m looking forward to seeing some other lessons of yours
Mark, your lessons are some of the best on youtube. I love this song, and you nail those licks as close to the original as I have ever heard. Thanks!
Great job on this. Steve was new to the band but what a killer player he was!!
Please let’s see the rest of this songs solo’s. Their all so killer and good. It would be greatly appreciated. Great video
Still one of my favorite videos on UA-cam.
Hi Mark , from the deepest of my heart big thank you man , I’ve always wanted to learn this classic solo , amazing work you’ve done man ... you’ve nailed it .
Dude that guitar sounds amazing. You should do more more more videos man. You don't need the fancy facilities when you've got a great sounding guitar, good amp, and knowledge between the ears. Kudos.
Awesome lesson. Love that Lake Placid Blue G&L, my favorite color. Sad that Steve Gaines got taken before he could peak.
Awesome man. Thanks . Great Gaines study share
Great job. Thanks for your time.
great bridge ... I like my action a little high and standard strat doesn't have enough compensation for my likings...
