You have too many cooker (Hey pot, it's kettle). lol I have the green version of this guy. I like it, but I can see some improvements that KJ made in this one. Great review. Thanks for the info.
Great video but you said something achingly humorous: "You can take it hiking." Lol, I want to go hiking with you while carrying it or strapped to your backpack.
My pack weighs enough, Roel... I'm NOT lugging that thing around whilst I hike. Sheesh! When I rough it I cook on a rock, HA! Tailgating or picnicing, that I can see. Good review.
nice....you are going to love this bad boy....I do pork butts....ribs-pork & beef.....brisket flat I have the Joe JR.....yes the box to die for,,,I saved mine
My mom just bought one from BBQ Galore for $399.99 + tax and the sales guy hooked us up with a free bag of charcoals, fire starter, and wood charcoal for free. Its on sale for $399.99, regular price is $499
I really want one of these to replace my BGE mini (the Joe Jr is a more usable size IMO, I bought my mini before the minimax or Jr were out) but I want them to upgrade it like the other Joes first, the better gasket etc. Any idea if/when they plan to update?
Basic seal, basic firebox, no ash collector, basic top vent? Why doesn’t Kamado Joe adorn their bbqs with all the same fittings... it’s not like people won’t buy a Big Joe if the Joe Jnr has the same quality fittings! You buy a bbq depending on what sizes you need. Surely!
I mean, smoke produces soot....but aside from that closing the lid keeps the heat in. Not a big deal if you're cooking a nunch of burgers fast, but for most things you should be closing the lid between moving meat around.
FTTH I watched a video on the Weber Q the other day, and the guy said due to small size it held temp better. With that in mind I think Junior looks a bit of a bargain...less cold spots.
10MM I have the Q and it is the only gas grill I use. It’s great to supplement a charcoal cook, take camping or use to cook something quickly outdoors. Easy to clean up and durable. I have an adapter for a standard large propane tank.
FTTH yep, totally agree. I think a great under $1000 spend would be a Weber Kettle, a Q with large canister, as you say and this Junior. Oh and a Weber Rotisserie, my favourite accessory!
This channel has been great entertainment and for inspiration. I translate much of it to my coolers. Besides the Q I cook on weber kettle, and WSM. I do have the rotisserie too which I use frequently. If I were to add a Kamado at this point it would be this.
maybe time to test the grill guru ? aangezien je toch zoveel kamado's test, kun je misschien eens je mening geven over de grill guru, large, stond bij de sligro, en ik heb zelf een aantal BGE's maar deze zag er ook wel ok uit grt alain
I have a KJ. like it a lot. you gotta use good charcoal in all of these kamados....bigger is better. cheap coal is not good. red color KJ is better than the silly green egg (and ham) smoker, yes? ;)
Nice video but who would take a ceramic grill hiking? Or really anywhere? lol. The size makes it seem portable but it isn't. A WSM 14" a PBC Jr is portable. Not this fragile ceramic. Nice marketing idea tho.
Tvideo Pretty sure he means leave it in/at the car to tailgate after hiking. A few times a year a bunch of my mountain biking buddies will tailgate after bigger rides but we use propane grills or little Weber kettles. Only issue with these ceramic types for tailgating is they stay so hot so it either has to cool off or ride in the back of a pickup.
You can get multiple Weber kettles for one Kamado. Ceramic grills retain heat better, so you may use less fuel (charcoal). But that doesn't make the food better. To me a Kamado is nice, but I'm not going to spend that kind of money on one.
I love my joe jr. It is what got me onto charcoal. It also compliments my new big joe! Man I love that little cooker!
You have too many cooker (Hey pot, it's kettle). lol
I have the green version of this guy. I like it, but I can see some improvements that KJ made in this one. Great review. Thanks for the info.
Just the right size for me and the Misses! I'm all in!
Sorry it's 13.5 inches thanks great video looking to buy one that looks like a lot of fun here in Canada
Take it hiking??? Bahahahaha.
I am now waiting for that video. 😆😆😆
I have a really good pellet smoker. This is a perfect companion for hot and fast cooking.
Great video but you said something achingly humorous: "You can take it hiking." Lol, I want to go hiking with you while carrying it or strapped to your backpack.
Corny AF
Yeh. When I heard that I thought, “At 68 lbs?”
Wonder if he meant camping...
For the Dutch, the weight is no issue :D
Saw one of these in a shop back in the fall, it's definitely on my "one day..." list.
Awesome... must be some list....
They need to make a Joetisserie for the junior!
Have it. Love it. Great as travel grill and support to my BGE XL and WSM57.
Looks perfect for my travel trailer.
Take it hiking? lol
Great video though!
Just got the junior. Actually looks much bigger than i thought. Cany wait to smoke some ribs.
How much did you pay for it ?
@@happyhusky4283 wifey bought it for me actually. Think it was Luke 300
Excellent video. I have the Jr. and it is great. I have no problem fitting a 5-6 pound pork butt on it to smoke.
Thanks Jason! Awesome! Perfect right?
Can you do some more junior recipe videos? Really hoping to get my junior out and about on the road this summer. Would love to see some ideas.. 🤙
This looks like an amazing grill. Can you create a direct and indirect cooking zone on this grill? Or is the surface area too small to do so?
My pack weighs enough, Roel... I'm NOT lugging that thing around whilst I hike. Sheesh! When I rough it I cook on a rock, HA! Tailgating or picnicing, that I can see. Good review.
Awesome grill great for on the go, great for picnic's,beaches etc. great video Roel ;)
LOVE my Joe Jr!
Just picked up the Jr for my campsite.
nice....you are going to love this bad boy....I do pork butts....ribs-pork & beef.....brisket flat
I have the Joe JR.....yes the box to die for,,,I saved mine
Wow, another warrior for your Kamado army! ;-D
Take it hiking... Lol
Maybe HE-man
Very well done! BUT Hiking? Maybe if I am hiking with Conan the Barbarian!
Thank you for sharing.. I am researching the Jr.. I really want to get one..
Could you smoke a turkey on the Joe Junior ?
naa
Love your Channel, keep up the great work!!!
Very good presentation of the junior. I have nearly the same device from Monolith. I love this compact kamado's.
Great unit!! Love the vid as always!
£399 for UK, I guessed £599 so good value imo, to complement say a Weber Kettle, great video as always. Would be interested in how a Pizza turns out.
Thanks bro! Sounds good
Pitmaster X really interested in Maximum temp the Junior will reach, maybe 650°?
how it is in your video The inside fast Black, have you make your video with 2 Kamado Jr?
Leuk speelgoed zo'n Joe en zeker deze kleine, veel bbq plezier ermee Roel ! :-)
Zeker! Top spul! Dank je
Thank you for the video
Lets see a Porterhouse with Chimichurri sauce on the small Joe.
My mom just bought one from BBQ Galore for $399.99 + tax and the sales guy hooked us up with a free bag of charcoals, fire starter, and wood charcoal for free. Its on sale for $399.99, regular price is $499
13.5 inches
Did you end up using it really?
love my Jr!
As your usual, great video.
Hiking?
It's this sane size a minimo or next size up?
so cute
Great unboxing! I would love to try one of your Joes. I mean even the one you don't use often. Ha. ;)
I need it!
Yess you do ;)
I just bought one
Great video. Way better than anything that Kamado Joe turns out. Bobby Brennan should hire you 😁 @kamdojoe
I'm confused how you cook a steak and get a nice sear since there is only room for either direct or indirect heat but not both.
Hola como la puedo comprarla?
Can you use regular charcoal in one of these?
I live in another country
🔥🔥🍖🔥🔥
yes, as long as it's just plain.. not ready light
I really want one of these to replace my BGE mini (the Joe Jr is a more usable size IMO, I bought my mini before the minimax or Jr were out) but I want them to upgrade it like the other Joes first, the better gasket etc. Any idea if/when they plan to update?
I am thinking about buying this grill but I only have a balcony. Is this grill appropriate for usage on the balcony? Thank you in advance .
I would recommend lifting it with 2 people up star cases. Otherwise perfect grill for a balcony
Whats the hurry?
saludos desde venezuela
Saludos Amigo! primer comentario👍
Take it hiking ? lol
6:54 😂
It took me 10 mins to get the shrink wrap off.
Surely!
this mini 15.6 inch ??
Zie ik het verkeerd maar 5 dagen terug maak je de bacon beefburger op de kleine Joe en 20 uur geleden pak je hem pas uit volgens de volgorde van de video’s 🤪
Ready to grill, except the charcoal
Hey Chef! It Rocks and it's Heavy.......but it's not Metal. :-) Rock On! \m/
Gently does it hey?
What, you recorded this with a webber?
How do you compare the Joe vs the Green Egg?
One is green the other is red
Buurdorp !!
I love my Kamado Joe jr but OMG! The plastic wrapped around the stand was just tortuous to get off! Thank Christ I don't have to do that again!
34 cm is 13.39 inches.
To say it in German: das geht ratz-fatz. Well done!
Wouaw
Isn’t having the grill top closed bad? The top is all blackened in a few minutes
I mean, smoke produces soot....but aside from that closing the lid keeps the heat in. Not a big deal if you're cooking a nunch of burgers fast, but for most things you should be closing the lid between moving meat around.
I wouldn’t of closed the lid on the fire lighters.
34 cm is just shy of 13.5 inches, but still big enough for reasonably sized cooks.
FTTH I watched a video on the Weber Q the other day, and the guy said due to small size it held temp better. With that in mind I think Junior looks a bit of a bargain...less cold spots.

FTTH me to, Junior would be perfect.
I bee looking for cooking videos not many??
maybe time to test the grill guru ?

Ik spreek Dutch (I speak Dutch), maar wat je zegt (but what you say) maakt geen zin (makes no sense).
Nice review:)

I have a KJ. like it a lot. you gotta use good charcoal in all of these kamados....bigger is better. cheap coal is not good. red color KJ is better than the silly green egg (and ham) smoker, yes? ;)

Wow...didn't cook jack.

Great show less hair dye more bbqing!!
13.4 inches not 16
Nice video but who would take a ceramic grill hiking? Or really anywhere? lol. The size makes it seem portable but it isn't. A WSM 14" a PBC Jr is portable. Not this fragile ceramic. Nice marketing idea tho.
But Does the temnperature rise up to 300 Celsius !??! ahah NO
U hebt een Nederlands accent??......
Next time try to mention features instead of it is great comments
$3,500 worth of grills there...does KJ sponsor the site or were these full price or heavy discount purchases?
Was ein hektisches Video...^^
Hiking? Really? Who carries the thing for you, Bigfoot?
Tvideo Pretty sure he means leave it in/at the car to tailgate after hiking. Only issue with these ceramic types for tailgating is they stay so hot so it either has to cool off or ride in the back of a pickup.
do you have any mexican genes in your blood? you look my cousin, Enrique, but with slightly different accent. cheers, amigo!
kamado joe or weber kettle grill, thats the question :)
You can get multiple Weber kettles for one Kamado. Ceramic grills retain heat better, so you may use less fuel (charcoal). But that doesn't make the food better. To me a Kamado is nice, but I'm not going to spend that kind of money on one.

This is more of an advert than a product review.
No where near 16 inch
Portable at 68lbs? Lol.
