Content Explorer is probably THE most powerful for SEO/topic research of ANY tool in the sector. Simple reason is because this is where all the many wide and deep metrics ahrefs offers all come together in one vector.
Wow a UA-cam video that actually has some real-life applications! I use content explorer every week but there were a few tips in here I didn't even think of trying. Great stuff guys! Within a second I found a crazy high traffic post/keyword with low comp :) I never subscribe to anything on UA-cam... but you got my sub.

Thank you Sam for the helpful and practical tips on SEO. I have binge-watched most of your content and it has broken down a lot of complexity that I previously faced in building backlinks. Thank you and your team for the great effort. With love from Malaysia!
You shouldn't solely look at DR when guest blogging. It's simply a decent filter to help filter out a large list of prospects. (But bear in mind that you might still miss out legitimate targets this way.) - SQ
This is an amazing feature. I’ve been sleeping on it, definitely going to use that part of the more frequently now for my research, guest posting and keyword targeting 🙌🏾🙌🏾Thank you ahrefs!!
Sure. When we set the MINIMUM organic traffic to 1,000, it will filter the results down to just the pages that generate at least 1,000 search visitors per month. So you won't see the results that only generate 10 organic search visitors/month etc. You'll have to play around with the numbers depending on your niche/search query, but you should be able to find some low competition topics to target. Does this help?
Most sites will give a follow link for guest posts. Unless they follow some weird editorial policy. And yes, some sites may ask for money. But if they're a legitimate site who wants high-quality content, then asking for money is probably low. - SQ
Hi! If I have URL of my competitor then if I will place in "site explorer" so it will show the number of referring domain. My question is: How can I identify that how many referring domains coming from guest posting and how many from business listing /just profile/commenting without checking all one by one?
There isn't an exact way to do that since guest posts have numerous variations of footprints. You would need to manually go through them. Couple tips: 1. Look at the new/lost RD on the overview page and see if there are any sudden spikes in link growth and then use the new backlinks report to see where they got the links during the time of the spike. Sometimes you'll be able to see that a lot of guest posts happened in the same time period. 2. If you're looking at a site with a lot of backlinks, you can try using the "include" search box within the backlinks report to look for footprints like "guest post." Results may vary.
Content Explorer is one of my favorite tools too! Lots of things you can do with nearly 1 billion pages in the index and a ton of SEO friendly metrics.
I work for an American Lawyer Client. My client check your video tips regularly and he always help me to learn some thing new in SEO as a result he send your all video to me to watch it and than, apply on his site. Neil Patel's tool Ubersuggest has some similarities like backlink and social share data but is not as powerful. It was free but I believe the price increased to $10 per month.
Can you be more specific? Which tool, report etc. If you're speaking of Content Explorer, you can add -site:domain.com to exclude results from that domain. -Sam
Ahrefs provides a set of complex tools that include a huge amount of data. Currently it is not possible to provide full access to all of these tools at a cheaper price.
I have a powerful message and a substantial percentage of all proceeds will go directly towards life coaching for low income students. That being said, would you consider housing any guest posts from me? Thanks in advance.
We don't have a filter by country in Content Explorer but you can try filter by language if that's what you need. Let me know if I get your question right. -Helen

A problem with content explorer that stops it being an AMAZING tool - on a backlink report Ahrefs lets you sort the sites into categories (blogs, Ecommerce, CMS,) so Ahrefs knows what sites are - So why can't this be passed over to Content Explorer?? All ecommerce sites now have blogs and It's very unlikely your Ecommerce rivals will place your link on their blog - You really only want to be reaching out to blogs or content sites...... Why oh, why cant content explorer let you do this???
Site Explorer and Content Explorer run on different databases, but I think your suggestion is great. I highly recommend adding it here: ahrefs.canny.io/content-explorer
This is great, but... Most of the results after filtering are porn and I mean really vulgar porn that no one should probably ever see. Well except maybe the cops who need to arrest some folks. Is there a way to filter the porn out of the results? I think if you could do that then I could use the tool more effectively. As it is there are usually 1-3 results worth evaluating out of the list. And why am I getting so much porn looking for JavaScript keywords in the first place??????
I just searched using the keyword "javascript", but wasn't able to replicate your results. I'd highly recommend contacting support with the steps you took to find these results. Sorry about that, Chris! PS. If you type in "javascript" in content explorer and use the filters in the video, the first result from medium seems to have some interesting ideas.

I'm not sure why any research is needed. If you using some like seoblogit it automatically links you industry and sends your blogs to the site.
