Dutch pins fantastic tool , if you put a little spacer behind the profile ( like a weep hole ) you can put your line behind it and you have an corner you can pull off straight away. Great content mate.
To release them you just need a gentle tap on the front of what you called 'the leaf'. My father (who is German) brought some of these over to the UK when he came here in the late 50s, I still have them. We never used them as you've shown but instead we as a small building company used to do a lot of house re-rendering and we used them to hold battens/straight edges on corners to render up to and then easily release without the fuss of pulling out Obo nails and damaging the render. Thanks for sharing though, now I have a new use for them :-)
Theres some really flash cocky bricklayers on UA-cam. These guys are different and so much more on a level. I really think this channel could do well with your grounded characters. All the best boys
We have something similar to a dutch pin in a joiners workshop, there're called hold fasts and they work on the same principle except they have a dedicated hole in the bench top.
Ive got a few dutch pins i always struggle to get them to hold the profile in place. The "leaf" just doesnt seem to wanna hold tight any1 else have this problem? Any tips? Those mortar spikes tho are brilliant for internals so simple 👌
I must grab onto a few of them buckets 🪣 have you tried the hoof proof buckets? They are very felxi and take a good battering 🤘 keep up the good work mate 👍
