Thanks, I was looking for this. Tacos are crap. Tyr (pronounced 'tear', as in 'a tear ran down her face') took the idea and refined it a lot further, and actually uses decent materials. HSGI uses crap chinese material. I don't know how many people actually care about that, but it looks horrible when you spend money on nice belts and plate carriers and your pouches are all mismatch and crappy looking. The Tyrs are supposed to be quite a bit lighter, which you didn't mention. Neither of them are bomb-proof retention solutions, but the Tyr seems like a much better designed and thought out product.
Onseki, I am trying to figure out which one to buy, your blatant smear of hsgi would be more helpful if you gave more details why they sucked besides saying there Chinese. I do know that tyr is about 35-50 percent more expensive. I guess I could say tyr is owned by a bunch of Jews. Lol jk
+Stephen Scott I found TYR (pronounced tier) Tactical a couple of years ago. They are WELL worth the money. The quality of everything is very, very good, and their customer service is top notch. When you call, you get a real person in about two rings, and they treat you like you are the only customer they've ever had. They are well organized and true professionals. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to buy gear or carriers. I think the are going to get more use in LE and MIL here within the next few years. They are expensive, but like I said, they are well worth the money, if having something very comfortable and durable. Just call them and ask about their pouches. They're happy just to talk to you and answer questions.
thank you

Velcro is actually for an adjustable strap.. I would slap someone if they put Velcro on their magazine.
