-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes, this channel is created and managed by Hickok45 and John, mainly John. The video clips on this channel are segments of videos taken from videos originally posted on the Hickok45 UA-cam channel. John always includes a link to the original video from which the clip is taken.
Hickok45 videos are filmed on my own private shooting range and property by trained professionals for educational and entertainment purposes only, with emphasis on firearms safety and responsible gun ownership. We are NOT in the business of selling firearms or performing modifications on them. Do not attempt to copy at home anything you see in our videos. Firearms can be extremely dangerous if not used safely.
Back in the 60's my Father ordered a M1 Carbine thru the mail. It was delivered to our ft door by mail. This country used to be free.
Yeah and then some jackass bought a Carcano through the mail and ruined it for the rest of us
Free and stupid in a different way, compared with the current state of stupidity. Can't Americans be free in being good to others?
They changed the population with immigration and psychological manipulation. I wonder who owns media, social media?
Don't forget. The 1968 background check gca showed absolutely no decrease in violent crime whatsoever. It even increased slightly in some years.
@@BL-zi9wb If you believe Oswald shot JFK.
I wish the ATF would go away
They don't seem amenable to re-training, so it seems likely to me that they are on the chopping block as we speak.
It just makes black powder more fun.
We all do. What if we send them to Ukraine for all our hundreds of billions back.
The dogs agree 👍
Maybe next week
Hickock showing us the firearms of his youth.
That's mean!!!, but hilarious too!!!
I laughed way too hard on that one! Thank you bud! edit like he said, that's mean 😊 lol
This is what I will be using for Naval boarding actions from now onwards.
Aye, yea verily.
Great for clearing passageways.
I remember back in 1963 I had a catalog selling military hardware and they were selling 20 mm Anti tank rifles for $100 . Rounds were $1.00 each and there were no restrictions. They also had 40 mm cannons plus every rifle handgun you could think of .... those days are gone.
In one of the early CBS Anti-Gun White Paper reports they were out in the Arizona desert shoot a 20 mm=either Laiti or Solothurn. The CBS microphone-liberal asked a nearby cop if he thought they shoud be illegal. The cop answered " Naw."
ATF aka Murder Inc
That is aroma therapy, it lowers your BP and eases your stress levels.
"If it was manufactured prior to 1860, or if it is a replica of a firearm manufactured prior to 1860, which does not fire a self contained metallic cartridge , ie, the powder and projectile must be loaded separately, it is considered to be a relic or curio." The 1968 Gun Control Act.
Such a fun toy and lethal with that number 4 buck, FUN FACT - Some people think that the phrase "He shot his wad! " has some intimate physical romance type meaning but this is NOT the case. From Revolutionary times, if a soldier was in battle and in the rush to reload before an advancing enemy could get to him, the soldier may panic and fire before he loaded his shot- thus "shooting his wad " would do nothing beyond making a boom, and he would likely come to a bad end.
Sounds like the new meaning is based on the old one. It most certainly means the first thing you said. It is an idiom.
I legally purchased an 1858 Remington replica 44 caliber from Woolworths when I was 16. It was my first pistol, and it was surprisingly accurate if it was loaded consistently.
A home defense option for "prohibited persons" in most states.
My Dad had a double barrel muzzleloading shotgun. He used hornets nest for wadding. He said hornets nest didn't draw moisture.
Harvesting hornet's nest for shotgun wadding sounds metal af.
That’s fucking badass
Here in Australia we have strict gun laws for anything produced after 1901 but before 1901 we have a "antique" gun law where we can own and poses rifle ONLY without a license where the pistols and shotguns need a applicable class license to even buy them.
After watching how your police acted during the COVID lockdowns I can see why your nation pretty much banned personal weapons.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I was not aware that the black powder percussion guns could be shipped directly to your house ( if your state allows). Great video as always, love your content.
So can any firearm made before 1898.
@joerobo682
The government defines an "antique firearm" as a firearm made before 1898, or any replica thereof, that does not use fixed ammunition (rimfire or centerfire) that is readily available in modern commerce channels. That covers quite a few, but not all, guns made before 1898 and their precisely-built modern replicas.
@Just1American1966 bought an original Kragg rifle through the mail 25 years ago chambered in 30-40 Kragg. It was delivered to my doorstep by UPS.
@joerobo682
Experience does not determine legality. I'm sure many have gotten someone to send them even an 1873 Colt in .44-40.
@Just1American1966 any firearm manufactured before 1898 is exempt from GCA and NFA. It's legal to sell pre 1898 firearms.
Growing up in Missouri I've mostly heard "sawn off" my whole life. I didn't hear sawed off much at all until my adult life.
NOT sawed off shotgun!!!! It is manufactured short barrelled shotgun!
In the 1960s you could clip the order form from your Field & Stream fill it out, put it in an envelope with your check, put a stamp on it and in 6 to 8 weeks a brand new S&W revolver would show up in your mailbox.
The wonderful world of black powder.
*Cough, cough*
In the immortal words of Cypress Hill “SAWED off shotgun, hand on the pump. Left hand on a 40, puffin on a blunt”.
It’s canon.
I haven't listened to that song in many years, but once I read those lyrics I started to hear B-reals voice singing it. La la la la la la la laaaaaa!
It’s a cannon.
I love the smell of black powder in the morning.
Pedro don't surf.
I "sawed" what you did there, Hickok45!! Thanks for the gunsmoke! 👍
As a dumber-than-a-rock teenager back in the 70's, I hitchhiked across the country with a sawed off shotgun in my duffel bag.
I was stopped several times by the police, asked to provide an ID, then driven to the next exit with a warning to not hike along the highway.
"The Lord protects the simple...,"
I used a 20 gauge muzzle loader for ducks in the 70's on opening day of the season.
My friends had all run out of ammo by 10:00 in the morning but I was still blasting away.
I used the plastic shot wads sold for reloading shot shells and a small piece of toilet paper as the over shot wad.
The plastic wads patterned tighter and eliminated the need for the disk over your powder which made reloading faster. The plastic wads easily slid down my barrels too.
I had made a long brass measuring spout to fit on my flask commonly used for pistols. I sized it to hold enough powder for my shotgun.
I also had a leather shot flask with a measure on the end.
I could get off two shots and reload fairly quick for a muzzle loader.
I found out the 50 caliber balls for my Thompson muzzle loader rifle fit perfect inside those 20 gauge shot wads I was using.
For deer season I'd load 2 of those 50 caliber balls into the shot wad in each barrel of that muzzle loader. They grouped about 2 inches apart at 50 yards.
Oh my god I've been wandering around here working so hard and then I come across your channel again and look at this wonderful Jim of flintlock something or another I'm going to call it a double-double😂
I've owned the same gun for the last 4 years now. Mine loves .570" roundballs and .310 roundballs. I either use them as 00 buckshot by themselves or with the .570" as a buck n ball load with 70 grains of FFG powder. I have patterned it out to 25 yards with #4 shot and it does surprisingly well. It was a copy of a Confederate shotgun used during the Civil War. I swapped the #11 nipples out with Pedersoli musket cap nipples because musket caps are easier for me to get and it made the ignition pretty much a certainty every time.
Always wanted a blackpowder shotgun.
I’m pretty sure you can still have black powder firearms delivered to your door even in California.
It's a short barreled shotgun. You never sawed off anything.
Looks like the kind of thing Grandma off the Beverly Hillbillys would like!
That thing is neat!
Look at those weapons of war shipping right to your door! Now if we could only get things newer than black powder shipped to our doors.
It would be nice if that 1899 thing was a moving scale. Like we ought to call anything 100 years old or more antique. Then we could get old Springfields and Arisakas and SMLEs and 1911s with no FFL BS and no C&R hassle.
Hickok45 talking about nipples... I never thought I'd see the day 🤷🏼♂️😂
Brandon Herrera for ATF director.
Had my CVA V2 muzzleload pistol sent right to me .
Sniper Shot Gun...never see you😅
Can't help but think of Sylvester loading the black powder rifle on looney toons.
Unless yer from New York.
Most amazing part is he has percussion caps
That’s awesome! I believe I can still get most black powder things shipped to my home….yes, even in California. I’ll definitely research before I try though. Love these, bud
Have always said sawn-off but sawed-off is in common use and well understood.
Nice. But for A LOT less, you can buy a 12ga coach gun which is more efficient and powerful in every way.
Neither of these pieces are even considered a firearm by the tyrants.
Good video thank you 😊
That is a defogger.😂
Anyone borned in Tennessee would call it a sawed-off gun.. 😂
Baker Calvary shotgun
That really looks like a lot of fun
Beautiful firearm. Love black powder.
I love muzzleloaders, except when it's raining.
Washington State needs some supreme Court to shine the light over here.... Weird stuff being tossed around.
Don't mind caps but really prefer 209's
Real BP doesn't need 209s. It's the fake powders that are much harder to ignite that do.
Only a teacher would care😂
Pretty sure it's really a "sod off" shotgun... The Brits know what that means.
Very interesting as always.
YOU COULD ROLE PAPER cartridges AND HAVE A FASTER RELOAD TIME.
It's black powder shotgun, not regulated by ATF.
You can pretty much call it whatever you want to.
I love theses wood stocks...
2:02 The same people who would call the .30-06 a "Thirty Zero Six" would call it that.
Used by the Confederate cavalry during the unpleasantness know as the "Union War of Agression" in the South and as the American Civil War in the North.
This was fun to watch.
ATF: Doh! Thanks Hickok, we'll get right on this! Oh, and what's your address again? See you soon!
I love them, but too much of a pain in the a$$ to keep clean.
Pedersoli has chrome lined bores.
Very cool!👍🏻🇺🇸
I have a howda hunter. Even in California it's legal to buy it directly online. Lots of fun.
Yeah, Precussion cap, shotgun. ATF doesn’t care about this class of firearm. Even up to a Civil War era Full size Cannon.
This short barreled shotgun would be legal in Canada with a regular break action . As long as it was manufactured that way .
As long as the barrels are manufactured at that length . eight inch is the shortest i believe . i would guess this is maybe twelve though ?
We need some cheaper ones to come in from Turkey !
Got by the ATF because it is black powder, muzzle loader
Now you can take up smoking again.
Cool Rain Coat Gun...=))
I want one, I love muzzleloaders
When Smoking is good for ya! 😜😅
I want one.
Hickock45 making Cypress hill references over here.
Make sure your hand does not slip off the front end of the stock....
Thanks for the info: that your wad combination prevents the left charge from moving down bore (creating a bore obstruction) when you fire the right. I was wondering.
In Canada we can get all guns shipped in the mail
Can you do a video review of the new colt viper?
Black powder firearms are so fun!
Aroma therapy!!!
Not in Hellinois if you’re a law abiding citizen that doesn’t want to sign up and put your name on the state gun registry
I don’t have a problem with deportation of our worst criminals, but I’d kinda like to know what they plan to do with all the empty government buildings in Springfield and Chitcago afterward.
Okay I want one - now where do I go to order these?
Dixie Gun Works, Union City TN.
Midway USA…
i had an old percussion
women's 410 shotgun as a kid 50 + years ago. A cheap way to shoot.
=
"sawn off" may have been the only acceptable version but english is a living language and takes common usage into account because "being understood is more important than being pedantic". So both expressions are correct.
Their ya go, except others value there opinion more then you value there's! Sort of like fling. flang flung.
Coach gun. Sawed-off shot gun.
what granulation of BP are you using? F ?
ironically completely legal in canada lol
Can you show a "flint" pistol fired? Thank you!
Sweet firearm. Would make a great “surprise” for some jasper who wants to hassle you while on the road. A real attitude adjuster. Sure hope the ATF doesn’t watch your channel. We don’t need any more bright ideas that infringe on our 2A rights.
Coach gun.
Muzzleloaders are exempt from any restrictions
I have one look like that in 12 gauge
What brand makes these muzzleloaders?
Dixie Gun Works, Union City TN.
Pedersoli
Kinda cool to bad they don't come with no engraving, that engraving just makes them look like crap
those would have been way cooler in the 1700s
Nice
❤
Is it just me or is the length of pull super long on that?
I don't want to mess up your video but I got to know how big is Jerry mikulet. You're 6'8 and he didn't look like he was that much shorter than you. I mean quite a bit but not as short as I thought he is. And Julie she's a real sweetheart ain't she? I just got to know if you can estimate his height. I would like it very much. Have a good day. Be safe. Thanks
Yeh proper English, sawn off, a bit like solder not sawdered😂😂
