When a then-young Neural DSP debuted their Quad Cortex a few years back, it became immediately clear that their state-of-the-art technology was light-years ahead of its time. Multifaceted sound modeling and amplifier profiling masterfully blended cutting-edge capture capabilities with immensely detailed sonic sculpting - all contained within a streamlined, sleek, and intuitive device that could fit neatly onto your pedalboard. Countless members of the guitar world’s virtuosic vanguard instantly saw the potential for revolutionizing their studio and stage rigs. One such distinguished member, Rabea Massaad, drops by Sweetwater to give you a firsthand look at the latest developments with the Quad Cortex. Plus, Neural DSP’s Max Taylor Grant joins Rabea for a deep dive into the company’s Cortex Control software, showing you the next step into the infinite possibilities of virtual tone crafting. I'm eager to hear about how Audio dropout while switching scenes with different amps will be resolved. I have demonstrated an issue with that feature and am looking for workarounds for dropout-free performances with my Quad Cortex. It sounds great!
Great video guys! Cheers!
Never stop making QC deep dive videos as long as I've had it I still learn new things all the time.. I do have one request for you.. I've captured my amp heads and some pedals but I really want you guys to make a video demonstrating how to capture a Neural plugin off the computer using the QC. I've been told this can be done but not sure how to do it.. capture the Gojira or the Petrucci plug in PLEASE!! Thank you for the content guys appreciate it!
These deep dive, actual use videos are super educational. Thank you guys and NDSP
7:35 "ah... Lets choose ... This one ... '69 "
Rabea: nice
Tyler: nice
Me: nice
Good to see you have got this released 🎉
Great video, thank you! Rabea and Max 🏴 are awesome!
This was a great help. Thank you!
Gorgeous sound
Awesome dudes 🤘🤘
Can we please talk about how cool Rabea's hair is?
I'll buy one once I can use the Rabea Architype plugin I bought within the Quad Cortex.
I didn’t even know you could right click parameters for scene view 😂
Mind blown
this is a real game changer. It enables me to use only one reverb/delay per preset and tune the times and mixes and feedback on every scene.
muting the outs, great tip!
How do you guys recommend recording the QC? Great vid guys!
changed my view on it ❤️
looks so cool..stage or daw..with out the score back
with cortex control, what would be the accessibility for someone who is a Blind guitar player, would the keyboard shortcuts, allow someone to build amps, and Signal, change chains, and to sink it with the quad cortex; also, when that is done, can you just use the knobs and the foot switches, to scroll through the different presets that you have on the cloud cortex; or is it necessary to use the touch screen.
Does anyone know what the shortcut for the Midi information is shown at 6:28?
7:36 nice 😭🤣
Bought a ToneX, Temple Duo board and GigRig G3S Atom new for the price of QC. The ToneX sounds better than my QC did with my amps captured. I went back to a pedalboard using my pedals with lt.
Syncs faster than the Titanic.
It sounds like the Soldano and the Diezel are out of phase?
What about latency ? using with some loop effects and no cable sound system is very very huge :( if Neural will do something to help ?!
If not is unfortunately big reason to jump to another solution :(
would be nice if this scene was sent up and could be downloaded
How would you route this to the monitors like you are doing but also route it to a real cab?
Two xlrs to your interface ( or USB to computer) and 1/4 output to amp.
@@SkylerMills perfect, thanks a lot!
I wonder if the cortex is really road ready...for me it looks more like a thing u use at home? Anybody used it extensivley live?
I use it 3-4 times a week live. Once you get a rig set you don’t even need to touch it. Consistent af 👌🏼
that is a sweet Musicman guitar. which model is it plz?
It‘s written “sabre“ on the head, but it could be one of his signature sabre model.
Make it shareable?
Is this preset on the cloud?
It’s not, but why not build along with us?
Collapsed to mono the 'going stereo' tone suffers badly from phase cancellations.
Pity this app isn’t on iPad. Looks very nice and would be helpful to be able to use it without a full laptop.
16:48 He said tone to 2PM. Does 2AM sound different? Asking for a friend. 🤔
It sounds the same but with a cup of coffee
@@JackR617- Most players would just say 2 o’clock. He specifically said 2pm. Would that sound different to 2AM?
Bea is sooo subdued in this one. Lol ❤
2:05 Hmm, maybe this was a second take after some technical issue?
7:37 *everyone liked that*
Still a bit wonky compared to competition, it often disconnects. But it's a start, no matter how I like using the onboard touch interface, sometimes when recording the QC is a bit out of reach and something like that is necessary. Hopefully version 2.0 will improve some things
Am i the only one thats wants this wirless without usb
Ha, my tv's own speakers could not take those hi-gain sounds at all, sounded like BZZZZKRZZXS! T'was nice on the headphones though.. 😄
Never heard of this guy
Building a great preset and not loading to cloud is a tonal sin!
Another 5 years and maybe you'll be able to use their plugins as patches
