You didn't show them the lady saying "You are the weakest link! GOODBYE!"
THAT LADY HAS A NAME but I won't repeat it because she's an awful human
"It's like Harry Potter!" - ah yes, famously the Weakest Link studio is like Hogwarts
Taskmaster has its own UA-cam channel, for those that are interested. It gets UNHINGED.
I wish the US version was exclusive to that other than having an account for Comedy Central’s streaming.
@@ericzubyk2329 It apparently wasn't that great, and only lasted the one series. So, you're probably not missing much, unless you're going for a 100% binge run across all versions.
The US one was horrible, but UK, NZ and Aus are great!!
0:41 I’ve watched The Weakest Link but it was Jane as the Host.
The Alex sitting on cake one!
“it looks like hogwarts” how💀
Must be the accent… 🫣😬
"This looks like harry pottter" MF HOW
I’m sorry how does this look like Harry Potter?!
I assume it was Anne Robinson with big glasses and short hair that did it.
For all of those who think that they can tell when someone's lying on the show... Would I Lie To You... I've got just two words for you... Bob Mortimer... The greatest panelist to have ever appeared on the show ever... He's an absolute legend.
bob mortimer is a legend, i can never figure him out and its hilarious.
Bob Mortimer and the fireworks is a classic the names he comes up with for old friends are hilarious. Ron Waffle and John Caramel the journalists spring to mind
@@jimblake2922 😂👍
With Bob if there's no way it can be true it almost always is!🤣
I could just watch him and Greg Davies on WILTY. The story where Bob said his mate was known as Sniper's Dream because he had a big head 🤣
Taskmaster is SO underrated. You get 5 comedians competing tasks and then of course Greg Davies and Little Alex Horne. Such a funny show
Taskmaster is probably the greatest gameshow, possibly the greatest TV show, ever created. Not one bad episode.
100% agree
How in God's name does that "look like Harry Potter" 😂
How the hell does the weakest link look like Harry Potter, a very odd comment.
Ikr!!!!
Right I was like-no it doesn’t
Countdown lovers know this one - That's a challenging Wa....
50 + 5 = 55
55 * 8 = 440
25 + 8 = 33
100 - 33 = 67
440 + 67 = 507
RIP Sean Lock
GENUINE HERO
Fans of the Cats version do at least, not sure about watchers of only the OG version
Should have shown a bob mortimer moment on WILTY
If they hadn't included Countdown, I'd have thrown a fit 😁They should have shown the 8 out of 10 Cats version though!
“It looks like Harry Potter” no? No it doesn’t?
literally i’m shocked 😂
“This looks like Harry Potter” WHAT?? 😂😂😂
I was gonna say 😭
Ig it's the only thing some Americans associate England with
I think WILTY deserved more explanation! It's not just telling a simple lie or truth, the fun is that they get quizzed on their stories and bring in surprise guests and props related to them, so if the person is lying they have to keep making up new details and keeping up with their compounding lies in a way that makes sense. It's both a test in reading people and a showcase of the comedians' ability to lie and improv on the spot!
And some of the wildest stories turned out true.
0:56 how does it look like hogwarts lol
My exact thoughts. How does the weakest link have any link to hogwarts at all? The only similarity is that it's full of British people.
@@kokomelon6707 you could say that it's link to hogwarts is.... The weakest...
The ghosts of old contestants floating about, haunting everyone.
I feel the fanny chmelar question should have been the pick for the chase.
Or the Andy Capp question
Not distinguishing between actual "Quiz Shows" and "Panel Games" was a bad idea
The US doesn't really "get" panel shows, though. So i think that is why.
The way the cut together the task master reaction goes along way to explaining why the US version failed. The tasks are less important than the banter and we didn't really get any of that.
8 out of 10 is clearly the superior version of countdown.
You sir are a man of culture.
It hurts to laugh at all of them having issues with 36 divided by nine 😂
really thinking its 3
@@jakeb5453 right, since when did basic math fly over everyone's head 😂😵💫
And the fact they couldn’t get 507 😂
@@lorenortega8327 When they lost the 's' in Maths.
0:57 how tf does this look like Harry Potter I beg
LMAOO most random statement ever
@@Lunaa_ literally
This was the comment I was looking in what world real or not does it look anything like Harry Potter
The only explanation I can think of is when the group go to the battle of mysteries and they’re surrounding the veil while the death eaters are holding them captive until Harry gives the prophecy to Lucious (in the film)
The girls who said Austria-Hungary probably learned about it in history because all 3 of the countries that she wrote were part of the central powers in WW1
Ok. Its driving me mad that no-one has put the Countdown numbers game answer -
8/8=1
100+1=101
101*5=505
50/25=2
505+2=507
Edit - aah I've seen a couple of people post different ways!
The Paris awnser is so funny not just because it's a capital city, not a country, but also because said city has the vowel I before the S 😂😂😂
8/8=1
100+1=101
101×5=505
50/25=2
505+2=507
For anyone wondering how to do the numbers one 🤣
I'm not from the UK but lucky enough to get BBC on my telly. I watch Pointless and House of Games daily. And Taskmaster is the greatest game ever made. Also, The Wheel is AMAZING. (And the Hit Show.)
FYI: All Taskmaster episodes are available to watch on their UA-cam channel (World Wide/No Geo Blocking)
Season 17 Starts Friday March 29th
Good I love the taskmaster series I watch it every time they release a new episode or clip on UA-cam
For Would I lie to you, should have used one of James Acaster’s unhinged stories lol
Oh dear, that second catchphrase video was rather iconic.
Do it again with the adults and include "balls of steel" 😂
(And "Q.I.", and "have I got news for you", maybe even a lil "never mind the buzzcocks")
If anyone cared, the poisonous compound/element was arsenic
🌠 The more you know!
He said it didnt begin with A 💀
I was so proud of myself for that one😂
@robyntheslytherin I found that weird also, but it said within the question that the symbol is As. Soooooo. . . 🤷♂️
Y'all need to sort your audio processing out, cos the host definitely said in response to ryker "it DOES start with an A" - maybe you're not used to his pronunciation or he spoke to fast/too quietly, but he definitely said "it does start with an A".
Mo Farah was the first person ever to beat The Cube and the only one to do it on the British version and did it easily with 6 lives remaining. A few weeks later he won Gold in the 5,000 and 10,000m at the London Olympics.
Pointless is one of my favorite shows ever
Ryker and Juliana's tandem is noce to watch. They're competitive but also very supportive
The Snake Charmer clip of Catchphrase, when it first aired over here in the UK it was hilarious, even now it's still hilarious
They don't know why
Bet its already been done but if anyone is curious the number round answer is
8/8=1 100+1=101 101x5=505 50/25=2 505+2=507
The question, "Which element can be used to make poisonous compounds that has the chemical symbol `AS` ?" is very badly worded / phrased.
It would be much clearer if the the question was phrased, " Which element - with the chemical symbol `AS` can be used to make poisonous compounds ?"
Really should have used any of Bob's stories for WILTY .
Nevermind the buzzcocks is a hilarious British gameshow. It's a trivia game with hilarious team captains and hosts. Its also like whose line is it anyway where the points don't really matter. Each team normally has a celebrity guest. I also like that the Brits do a big fat quiz of the year about current events that happened throughout the year but one of the teams doesn't care about the quiz and just messes with everyone during the quiz.
You should’ve shown them a Bob Mortimer clip from would I lie to you.
I love would I lie to you, Lee Mack is such a fun comedian
The original Crystal Maze would have been good to show
No Richard Ayoade, James Acaster, Noel Fielding?
should've chosen bob mortimer for the would i lie to you clip
Do another one with Tipping Point, University Challenge, Crystal Maze, Only Connect and Mastermind.
Not sure if it counts as a game show, but QI is also very very good lol
It is quite interesting, indeed.
What "U" is a 4-string instrument...
Angel: VIOLIN!
*face palm*
If you was going to use a clip from series one in taskmaster you would have been able to demonstrate the humour in the show with the eat as much melon in a minute especially with romesh's attempt and the banter with rosheen taskmaster is not just about the tasks it's about the humour in the tasks and I feel you used a clip that didn't show any of the humour and this really missed the point of taskmaster.
They did feature the potato clip on their video 'Americans React To British Comedy Shows'
Countdown brings back my childhood. I would come back from school and watch Countdown with my grandmother RIP. This game show surprisingly helped me with English and Maths. We’ve always done some great game shows - glad to see those in the USA getting to know them.
If you're only going to show one clip/question from the UK chase surely it should have been Fanny Chmelar...
what a pity he didnt show it though
Taskmaster is one of the funniest shows I have ever watched
I had to check if it was all Gen Z because Millennials would remember the U.S. incarnation of the Weakest Link. Anne was the best host with her dry wit. George tried too hard IMO.
Countdown rules, it genuinely helps the brain.
You definitely should have used one of the Bob Mortimer clips for the WILTY one
Either the apple or the dentist
@@swanchamp5136 Fuji 9!
how on earth does the weakest link look like harry potter?
I live in the UK, but grew up in Canada. We had the weakest link but it had a different host and she would say,”you are the weakest link” goodbye.
One of these days, I hope they show the cast 'Big Fat Quiz'😂
I love that show!!
The teabag task is such a good task to show first-time viewers of Taskmaster, I HIGHLY recommend the full clip. As well as Tim Key's big victory here, it features a ton of petty-but-wonderful arguments, a contestant cheating and one of the funniest edits I've ever seen.
the great bath plug scandal was in that episode too Tim Key cheating his ass off haha
Italian here, Taskmaster, WILTY, (cats does) countdown are my jam. Also the big fat quiz. Love english panel shows
The guy in the red tracksuit on taskmaster is Tim Key, he is actually the task consultant on all the series of taskmaster so if anyone knows a good work around it’s him.
Anne Robinson the original host of The Weakest Link. She was scary as hell. I love Taskmaster
I love British game/panel shows. My new favorite is I Literally Just Told You hosted by Jimmy Carr.
Task Master and Would I Lie To You had American versions that were pretty bad. They just don’t translate well here. Although, the American version of The Chase is okay and still on the air.
Ah, yes. The infamous violin that somehow starts with the letter 'u'.
They can't even calculate 36/9 instantly??
i have mild Dyscalculia and dyslexia, meaning i can do that math but i have to use my fingers, as its so hard, and i have mild dyslexia i can read perfectly well but i cant write very well. or form sentences correctly easily. and im 42. and i ran a pub thank goodness for modern day tills. cos i struggle with maths i can do basic adding and subtracking but muliplying and division are too hard without a calculator, and any other form of maths is beyond me
@cyberash3000 I respect the effort 🫡
Obviously children's arithmetic is too much for many US High school seniors
Taskmaster and 'Would I Lie to You' aren't game shows they're comedy shows.
Would I Lie to You is a panel show. Also, USAmericans have no concept of panel shows so better to stick to "game show"
These were very old examples of our gameshows from like the early 2000's😂
Should have done 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. Much better show.
'austria-hungary' great to see she knows her history on the empire, but girl they're two separate countries
Or she is from the very early 20th century or before...
Bruh just because you know the name of something doesn’t t mean you know anything about it , I know who Lebron James is, but I don’t know anything about him apart from being a basketball player
@@jimmyliao5140i was just surprised
You need to show the guys a montage of Bob Mortimer clips of WILTY.
That would be funny, but they'd be traumatised for life.
i was thinking the same, wished it had been one of his stories..they are epic.
England and Scotland are both countries.
On Pointless they specify that by country they mean a member state of the UN. England and Scotland are not seperate member states of the UN.
No on the show Pointless. Get a clue.
Nooo but why didn't you show them how Rachel solved a mathematical game? :(
Right it's the best part
I >LOVE< taskmaster SO. MUCH.
Countries name ended with 2 constonants
Paris...wtf
New York?
Taskmaster is just the best thing it heals depression
Americans talking over the rules then being confused about what’s happening 🧐
We've done comedy series. We've done gameshows. Now we need to do comedy gameshows. Something with Richard Ayowade
They should have chosen a bob mortimer episode for would i lie to you
Came here to say this 😊 Bob Mortimer is chaos incarnate!
The one where he burnt his house,, also has lee ever said a truth
I cant believe that Golden Balls didnt make this list!
Maybe they had to watch the innuendo with some of the teens ages? I'm just guessing
Yes- love British game shows- was actually on Countdown a couple years back
As the clock.? Sorry that was uncalled for... Im sure you had a great time.. 😎
You should have shown the 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown spin-off. It's hilarious.
Would love to see the React team play a full game of Pointless
Should show them "I'm a celebrity get me out of here!"
Greenland IS a country in the Kingdom of Denmark in the same way that Scotland is a Country in the United Kingdom
Austria-Hungary was a country....like 100 years ago.
The defintion of a country on Pointless is "a sovereign state that's a member of the UN in its own right". Greenland, England and Scotland are not that.
Ah yes weakest link, was introduced to me by doctor who
i would have shown them "i literally just told you" even though it's a trainwreck of a gameshow or more so exactly because it is that.
Lol should have given them a Bob Mortimer Would I Lie to You clip
And Catchphrase didn’t finish in 2004 it’s been back for years with Stephen Mulhern
And they sometimes have normal people on but now it’s mostly celebrities doing it
Somehow, Abhi managed to gather shows not hosted by Jimmy Carr.
The countdown numbers was tough, fair enough, but possible.
100 + 8 = 108
X5 = 540
25+ the other 8 is 33
Take that away from 540 for 507
Nice one, I did 8/8+100 = 101, then x 5 = 505, and 50/25=2 added to the 505
One of the substitute teachers I had in school won countdown
Taskmaster, would I lie to you, 8/10 cats does countdown, are all some of my favorites, it's hilarious. Taskmaster is the best though 😂
Y'all gonna show WILTY but not show any stories from Bob Mortimer or James Acaster?
Would have loved to have seen them react to Price is Right, Family Fortunes,.Supermarket Sweep and Strike It Rich
Oh god! Supermarket sweep! Now there's a blast from the past.
Now I'm wondering if "get your own back" and "fun house" would also count
Greenland does not agree
"YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK! GOOD BYE" didn't know it was British but god damn i loved the shit out of it!
Just had surgery today and was screaming "Asia" and then I remembered what a consonant was when Abi said "can't end in a, e, i, o or u"😂😂😂
💜🖤💜
Same m literally all the countries I thought of ended in vowels
I watch the chase every single day, love it so much
You should put tipping point here
