How to replace Subaru oil separator plate and rear main seal

  • Today we show you how to fix the most common oil leaks on the rear of a Subaru engine by replacing the old plastic oil separator plate with a new metal one, we also replace the O-ring on the wrist pin cover and and install a new rear main seal.

    Thanks for making this video. Do you have the part number for the o-ring, I'm having trouble finding it?

      The part # is 806931020 for the o-ring on the wrist pin access cover, the can check Subaru's opposed forces site here to find any other part numbers you need opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_5/engine/cylinder_block/illustration_1/

    Do you think i would be ok using permatex ultra grey?

      Yeah it should work ok just make sure you get everything really clean and remove any oil residue from the sealing surfaces.

    Is this the EJ22 engine?

      Yes this was on a EJ22 but it's the same procedure on all the EJ engines
