That has been WoW's story since WoD. People have suggested, asked, and requested things for years and they keep just ignoring it. I don't understand why, but for whatever reason it might be... it shows they haven't changed. It's really odd given, even now, they're still unable or unwilling to change really bad things about the game. It was funny to hear 'No' over and over again though. XD
@@TheDb1t I will never understand the Blizzard dev process. They seem to actively work against their player base, respond negatively to community suggestions, have that "you think you do, but you don't" attitude where they think they know better than the players about what they want, and always make decisions that turn objectively fun game content into just another power grind. No matter how good the War Within alpha or beta are, I know that they'll change things to make them more "profitable" to the company rather than leaving them as fun - because that's what they've done for the last decade. So, I'm waiting until a few months after launch to see what the expansions really going to be like, simply because the devs consistently lie through their teeth and put on a smoke show before every expansion.

@@christsatali9139 "Most"? Sure, whatever. How about the story? All that effort finding the oathstones... why? How'd that Primalist Tomorrow thing work out? Oh, it didn't? How about the storyline that got started with the Azure Span that went absolutely nowhere? How about any kind of resolution to Loamm being burned down? Or that "amazing" and "stupendous" Friendship is Magic cut scene that ended the whole Emerald Dream / World Tree arc?
So, story is kind of scuffed. How about dungeons? Those are usually good, right? Except... no. There was, what, eight? And how many of them were just repurposed zones? Two? Three?
How about PvP? Any new maps? Game modes? Anything?
Raids? Raids were... fine, I guess? I don't know anyone who counts them as the top tier of WoW raiding, though. But maybe you do?
But as for specifically what I meant, I meant the habit of the Blizzard devs to introduce an interesting and fun new feature - pick your own power for set bonuses (Azerite Armore), Torghast, whatever - and then taking away the fun elements and forcing it to become just another power grind. And from everything I've seen, they're *still* doing it with the MoP remix.
@@Maria_Erias ok actually thanks for the effort you put on your response, at least you are someone that knows what they are taking about. First of all, I agree with the story and on some parts it was a mess. Dungeons and the mythic plus seasons were for the most part fine ( mechadungeon was pretty cool).I would argue that raids were pretty good overall with some very good fights. Professions in the game got a very good update and overhaul , gearing in the game had also and overhaul which was very good. While gearing in wow , pieces from dungeons, raids and crafting now matter and you further modify them with embellishments and enchants. PvP is forgotten however. Then to new things, plunderstorm was something completely new and actually great content, mop remix is super fun although it has bugs, dragoriding is really cool. And finally , in dragon flight they have added smaller stuff like the holiday updates and more customisation for characters including transmog from vanila, pets for warlocks etc. The game is by no means perfect, however they are doing a way better job.

@@Neoduem Yep, I haven't purchased an expansion since Legion and this one looks no different. Still ignoring the playerbase and being arrogant, Ion needs to go and get replaced. All he cares about are raids and for whatever reason still won't implement quality of life features like respawning at the boss.

Im not sure. I get what you mean, but I paid for loser edition of the game to play early, and lorewise and story pacing/ general warcraft feeling is kinda there for me. Im enjoying it in that sense. The warbands thing respects my time a lot. Just my opinion. I understand your attitude toward blizzard. But monitor the game. I think it is on the upswing. Unfortunately, this xpac was developed mostly under Activision and not Microsoft. They said at blizzcon that midnight will ne the expansion to "have all the features players are excited about" in their exact words. It seems clear to me is because that's the first one with metzen back and full production under microsoft. So hang in there. This xpac you can absolutely skip imo, but I am really digging it.
When WoW first came out I had a bank full of cool looking items and my friend asked me, "why TF do you have all this trash in your bags?" I told him, "well maybe they will add a separate gear set that will only change the look of your character and not affect your gear." He called me stupid and they would never add that. Well look who's stupid now. haha
Regarding spawning after boss wipes and getting new players in without a Warlock: Why is there no (thematically fitting) general summoning stone in front of each encounter that activates once the trash has been killed? That location might as well be your respawn point.
Also: regarding runback time: Most bosses have a 30-60 second respawn anyway.
Could just as easily be a summoning stone toy.
@@bosssavage3325 idk, summons anywhere should always be tied to Warlocks, maybe a 2nd class by now. Summon stones for raids and dungeons exist so it makes sense to do if for individual encounters inside a large raid.
The dev just answered this in the video. He said they know better then the players, so shut up and take it. LOL.

This interviewed confirmed that I will not be playing The War Within. The devs still dont know anything about good game design. All their other achievements of quality content seem to just be acidents.
Hey. Thats what's up. Dont play it if you feel that way. I do notice a difference since microsoft took over. The thing is, we wont see the full effects of that until the next expansion. This one qas already in production under activision. Youre right to feel this way, but i think the team is more agile now and things will get good. All signs seem to point to that. Im with ya. Skipping this one. Definitely going to come back for the next if it seems my suspicions are correct.

I'm hesitant to come back.
Last I played was in Legion, I came back for Pandaria remix but I was quickly reminded why I left.
The content felt very shallow. The only time I felt like I was having fun was when I got a cool new piece of loot.
This was sustained longer in Pandaria remix from getting the threads but unless War Within does something to go beyond simple delve and loot systems, I don't see myself coming back.
That said, flying is amazing. But that's it.
Give it four months. If people are going wild about how amazing it is, then you'll know. It's marketing time for WoW, but when people level up you hear quickly how things are.
In fairness MOP Remix is the equivalent of a "free fun" private server. It's meant to be a little event you do as an established player. It's not meant to be played for more than a few hours like event content.
Retail as a whole is bad and bloated with half assed systems though. Story is still garbage too. I'd recommend just not coming back. WoW has been slowly dying since WoD. Shadowslands almost finally killed it but ABK isn't going to let go of their cash cow that easy. WoW will flounder and subsist from its base for another 5-6 more years before finally ending support.

@@pozziellen Exactly. I don't think they marketed it well. They pushed it as like another version of classic or something but in reality its more of a silly event. But even with Plunderstorm people didn't think of it as the same so expectations were all over the place.
And a new player or a returning player jumping into it must be super confusing. The devs in this video talk about how important & difficult it is to teach new systems. Unfortunately I just don't think Blizz is doing that well in that regard.
In the mean time I'm enjoying classic and I honestly recommend new players start with Cata as it's much easier to get into and honestly it's a lot better story/experience wise than retail.
Hope you enjoy MOP Remix. Hopefully they'll do a MoP Classic too.

I've kept them in a sort of limbo-ish state, not knowing what to expect. If the game can't even please me when I'm in a "Meh" state, then it's simply not worth my time.
Shadowlands killed what little enjoyment I had left in WoW. I like FF14 because besides a better way of story telling they don’t lock off content with grinding! If WoW wants me to try them again then guess what, DON’T time gate the story! Patch stories, fine but it just felt like the same thing over and over and I was tired of feeling FOMO from not always exclusively playing WoW. Cheers to you Zepla if it brings you happiness, have fun!
The thing that I absolutely love about FF14 is how you can literally walk away to take a break to play other games without the FOMO.

I think that a move towards a choose-your-own-difficulty (of the delves) sounds like a good way to hedge their bets about the balance or imbalance of various possible character builds. I know it's just Delves for now, but I'd like to see a choose-your-own difficult in other aspects of WoW as well.
I just get kinda burnt out with the sheer amount of add ons that's REQUIRED to play that damn game effectively

I mean maybe it's because I don't do hardcore content but I get by without using ANY add-ons. Maybe it's needed for the harder stuff but I wouldn't say it's required otherwise.
I feel biased but nothing in these raid tiers needed addons. People just used them in mythic on specific bosses for weakauras that guilds chose to use them on private aura mechanics. Echo of Nelth was a severe outlier tbh. Smolderon orbs could be done naturally but people defaulted for consistency to save prog time out of distrust of some of their raid members(20 people its how it goes lol). I play with a base ui out of preference and I get CE every tier.
People use similar things in 14 at a high enough level they just dont advertise it. Automarker etc. 🤷♀

Any game can do that. Its about your personal habits. Do you say the same thing about Valorant? Counter-strike? Because counter-strike ruined my life for a period when i was younger. Why do people clutch their bible so hard about video games? All things in moderation. Seems simple.
Great interview with a lot of good questions. Not super enthused by the Blizz response, pretty much just staying the course while trying out new game systems to see if they increase engagement. They don't need to get rid of the cap on challenges/skills but make the core gameplay oriented around fun and not about punishment.
I quit WoW in Wotlk and I'll never play the game again. It's not my game, and it won't ever be. However, coming from one veteran lady to another (...I remember when they added PvP, or at least the specific battlegrounds for it, and Maradaun in a patch...), and I truly mean this when I say it - I'm really happy to hear WoW is in a good place for you. I hope you have lots of fun in Azeroth!

They should have weekly raids from old tiers on a random rotation that scale leveling and give current tier scaled items from the original loot pools. Timewalking weekly raids essentially.
Delves sounds like they will be completely mismanaged and wasted like Torghast. The only way Blizzard knows how to do "difficulty" is with r-tarded ilevel checks which will naturally put solo players out of the competition. Even the Mage tower after it was reintroduced is all about minmaxing old expansion gear.

Its hard to be an single mmo only streamer if your not a establish streamer, even wow streamers can't make it only the most popular who've been there for years are making money. The play is to jump on every popular game every month tbh if your a streamer. I'm surprise she's not on the wuwa train atm since she played genshin.

The Proving Grounds are amazing. I wish if they did any teaching in game that they would expand on the Proving Grounds to do it. Also, just make the Proving Grounds more visible even if it has to be a separate mode like Tournament Realm.
People could also use the Proving Grounds to test DPS in a format that isn't just stationary combat dummies.

If you are a new player you want to know why are you there and who are those people. They should resume in some way the older chapters in game, maybe with some new dungeons or something that is not very complicated to recover.

I was excited for War Within. Looking forward to delves being challenging solo dungeons, and the hero talent trees look cool. But the dev answers here definitely lowered the excitement a bit. Still excited for delves and hero talents, but their answers just feels like a bummer.

11:26 good, I really hope it is like that. A lot of the underwater content is terrible because of the verticality. Having to swim and fight mobs not only in front, but on your sides, above and below you just feels bad. I remember when Vashj'ir came out and I thought it looked so stunning, and then I started questing and I immediately hated the entire zone and I literally never went back again and that was in 2010. I have avoided that zone in the game for 14 years because of that. Terrible design.
22:09 YES! I don't understand the gatekeeping behind race/class combos after implementing tauren rogues. Once those got added in, any race should be able to be any class. If you can make an argument about how a 2 ton bipedal bull can 'stealth' and surprise attack people, then you ABSOLUTELY can make an argument for how a night elf can be a shaman, especially with their lore being tied so closely to nature, shamanism is not that different from druidism in the sense of this game. Gnomes have lived with dwarves for the entirety of the games life, and they can be priests so the 'light' isn't a new concept for them, and they can be warriors too, so why can they not be plate clad warriors of light or "paladins" it just doesn't make sense when you compare it to a freaking stealthy cow!
Sometimes I watch these WoW interviews, and Im consistently disappointed because theyre never NEARLY as interesting or honest abt the state of the game or their plans for things as they are the FF side (ofc im biased, but its something I enjoy abt being an FF girl) but this interview was actually interesting and wonderful! You asked them really fantastic questions that I also genuinely wanted answers for, there weren't too many soft and fun questions, a lot of it was good information that I was really curious abt that made me excited about WoW again! (I have been playing a lot recently, so I'm starting to feel like my slight excitement wont be too misplaced :3)
Fun fact Warglaive transmog has always been account wide :) You just need to have looted both across your account for the achievement. Once you have that you need to kill illidan on timewalking difficulty during an event and you get the transmog unlock :)

I'm happy for anyone who plays WoW if they're getting something good with the next expansion. I probably won't play it because I definitely don't have time for two MMOs in my life.

It's possible, but you can't go hardcore on both unless you don't play anything else.
What i do is that i go hardcore in WoW and i do the story in FF, level my favorite jobs, see every raid, get a few of the job weapons. But, no savage, no housing and no ultimates. I don't have time to engage on it and take breaks.
If you are curious, you can just do it the other way around. You can do the story, the dungeons and LFR and you basically have the whole experience minus going hard on the gear grind. It's very low commitment doing it that way.
If they want class fantasy, make claw druids 5% larger like colossus warriors and let us customize forms like the chickens

After playing WoW for nearly 20 years I think I am finally done. Looking for a new home, may return to XIV but will see. Remix looked so amazing and they spoilt it straight away for me and the last couple of times I've had some issues or game braking bugs that I can't be bothered to even try again to get = nah I'm done. Spent an entire week trying to unlock something and the achievement was bugged and GM's wouldn't do anything, worse they didn't even acknowledge this was a bug until the 2nd reply I got from them after they tried to fob me off the first time! Still fobbed me off the 2nd time but at least they admitted the issue this time. I'm done, I can't spend a week of my life in a game where if something breaks it's just "sorry, it's a know issue, you can report this bug if you want to" as the reply.
Good luck everyone who continues to play and this feels weird to me because this game is a huge part of my life but the time has come!

I was considering the War Within. After this interview ive decided to pass. The devs literally dodged every single good question you have, and basically said "nothing is changing, because we know better then the players."
I've been let down too many times by Blizzard to give them any more chances. I hope people enjoy it though.
One thing I still hate that they never change is dungeon mobs groups they some have soo much you have to know the routes to skip the trash so you dont waste time. I wish they do the same as FF14 you only fight a few groups to get to the next boss fight.
People need to chill, Focusing on a single game can easily cause burn out even with content creators. I enjoy the hell out of 14 but even I need to take breaks now and then.
9:40 Start of the interview
The gap from heroic dungeons to M+0, which was made the equivalent of M+10, made it nearly impossible for people who hadn't tried mythic before to get involved. Instead of making M+ more inviting it had the exact opposite effect.
The responses to Keystone depletion and respawning at the raid boss are so disappointing. I've never really raided before outside of LFR because I simply don't have time but I have always wanted to. Even in MoP remix where people blast through the content I've found doing SoO and ToT take too long for me with only a few wipes so I can't even bare the thought of doing the current retail raids. LFR works for me because you can do them wing by wing on your own time. I've no issue getting into groups for Normal or higher Raids, it's just the time wasted within a raid that turns me off. VERY disappointing to hear that these things are not changing.
Raiding has needed a drastic overhaul for YEARS. This interview proved that Blizz is still catering to the 1% Mythic raiders. I doubt Im ever coming back to WoW until Blizzard just abandons those players all together, and focuses on the core audience.

Dev: We """""hear""""" you. It does suck, when i played i didnt like it. Something goes wrong in the dungeon it feels bad and having the key go down kinda doubles down on it.

They hear you. They just think they know better. This interview litearlly convinced me not to bother coming back. I quit 3 weeks in Dragonflight because I realized while the expansion was well done, the game really hasnt changed at all. They need some drastic changes to raiding, endgame, etc but they just refuse.
Just a couple of ideas for the new channel, World of Warbun, or world of buncraft.

Glad your enjoying it but I have my fill of Wow with just 2 seasons of Dragonflight for probably a few years. Doing the Raid and lev 20 dungeons gets old, for me, quickly.

Damn. This pretty justified my decision not to come back. What a shame.
I'm bitter and angry about WoW and will remain so because I know what we lost, and why we lost it. The damage cannot be undone. It'll always be there, like some scar. Like a bad memory from a terrible experience you're too young to remember, but you still feel it in your lizard brain. I'm sad that they may finally right the ship and turn the game back around, but I can't.

Got CE all of dragonflight. Been in the alpha since day 1. Games in a better spot. Delves having a mage tower type fight is gonna be great for solo content. Warbands for tmog collection is huge.
I primarily only play WoW to mythic raid though.

People can play two games lol. These mmos are seasonally designed now.
Something about raid wipe running. Tindral and fyrakk has respawns at the boss and most groups just do rez protection anyway. Id prefer we always just warp at the boss but they have done things like theyve said.
Delves could be good as a real scenario gear sim
They refuse to acknowledge bad game design and fix it. Intentionally wasting people's time is all we need to know about its future. Hubris and mindset still the same. WoW is back!
