My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer this month. It's been tough, but I know that she is a very strong woman, and can get through this. I am so happy that she caught it almost right away, and I am also so happy that women like you, Colette, are in this world to help talk about things like this and many other things that can help people in many different situations. Love you, Colette! And thank you SO much! :)

My mom and I had our mammograms today. My mom Linda is a 7 year breast cancer survivor and it is so important to have your yearly mammograms. I am so proud of you Colette for sharing your story about your mom. I am so sorry for your loss but it's women like your mom that encourage the rest of us to be proactive about their health. Much love to you sweetie. Keep going with the awareness.

One of my biggest inspirations is my former my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Hess who was amazing and has inspired me to eventually become a teacher myself. Mrs. Hess was diagnosed with breast cancer twice before I had the experience of being taught by her, not only with math and science, but also with how to be strong and over come difficult times. After having a daughter, she was diagnosed again. Yesterday we found out that she has only a few days left to live. Her teachings will never be forgotten

My mothers cousin is fighting Breast cancer for the second or third time in her life She is a huge inspiration to me She has not had had easy life But she taught me one of the best lessons I have ever learned that when you are upset you are at someone or something lock yourself away for one minute. Scream cry swear do what ever you need to do to get the frustration out. But only for one minute that you cant let the bad things in life control anymore of your life then that one minute

It's a shame that not a lot of these amazing ordinary people don't get the recognition they deserve. I had a great grandmother who had breast cancer and I think died from it. I was young when she passed. But thank you Katilette for share your story. Plus for recognizing amazing women who you found inspiring. Thank you for being you and also being my inspiration!

Hi Katilette! I'm a 21 year old woman from Finland. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer June 2011, she went through all the treatment and surgery, and everything was supposed to be fine, but four months ago the doctors found a tumour in her brain and I don't think she's going to make it to Christmas. I've been watching the vlogs for a cuople of years now, and I would just want to thank you. Even in the darkest of days, your videos make me smile.

My grandmother is in her late 80s and slowly succumbing to her breast cancer - which she has been battling at some level or another for the last 25 years. It has been very hard to witness and to deal with. I have nightmares about it often.Almost every person in my family or circle of friends has died from cancer. It gives you this sinking feeling inside you to know there is really nothing that can be done in many cases, but often the love that comes out of it, like Katilette shows, is tremendous.

Thank you so much for this colette! I feel like every year you help me to remember to be proactive and inspiring in this month. My aunt, who was such an amazing woman herself passed away 5 years ago from breast cancer, and we miss her dearly. She would always do little things to make us smile as kids, and now I try to keep those memories of her alive by doing those things for the little ones in my life that she dident get a chance to meet. Sending love your way xox

This topic always makes me cry because my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer as well. I‘m so glad she overcame it! The doctors said if she would have get checked a few months later, there wouldn‘t have been a chance for her to survive. It is already 8 years ago but I still know how hard it was to have in mind that my mom might die :( I‘m really grateful that she is still by my side because I love her so much

Katilette YOU inspire me! I love that you still raise awareness after all these years. You are such an amazing person. I'm 19 and my grandpa passed away from pancreatic cancer. I miss him so much. This cancer gets such little awareness and is the deadliest. 94% of people will die within the 1st 5 years of being diagnosed. November is pancreatic cancer awareness month. Do you think you could talk about it in a video next month to help me raise awareness? It would mean the world to me. Thank you!

Colette, I think you are such an inspiring woman. When I first encountered the Shaytards videos a couple of years ago now, I saw how positive and happy the both of you seemed and I assumed you must have had a perfect upbringing and happy childhood. Knowing the struggles you have gone through and the humility with which you speak of your experiences amazes and inspires me. You are a truly beautiful and kind-hearted person, and I aspire to be as humble and compassionate as you. Thank you so much.

I live in the UK & graduate next summer, if I can afford it I really want to come to VidCon to meet you guys. I think meeting you, particularly, in person would be so emotional. I live in Australia, I went to an all girls high school where we were encouraged to begin mammogram screenings at age 18. Various clinics offer free mammograms and a couple years ago a mammogram clinic offering free tests was open in the bra section of my local Myer store (one of Australia's leading store chains). It's hard to believe that in America, for a test such as a mammogram you'd have to pay full amount without the option of bulk billing. On a side note, you're very brave Colette xxx

I know that at least in my county there's a card you can get, whether you have insurance or not, that will allow you to get every womanly appointment you may need. You can even get birth control. I was so grateful for this, because I was in a place where I needed BC and didn't have the insurance. I think this program saved me from an unwanted pregnancy at 18.
