Many of the players at Talking Stick are wealthy retirees who have a lot of money to blow. It can be frustrating when they continually raise to 18 before the flop, where I would like to see more flops. Lone Butte has more of your average recreational players who like to limp in and play after the flop. It’s almost like comparing players at the Wynn vs Red Rock. Awesome that you booked a nice win over the 3 sessions.
It’s not a rake it’s a drop, so the number itself doesn’t seem horrible, however they drop way more than Vegas in small pots, thats why for $1-2 the drop just eats up the games. You came on the weekend and found some decent games, during the week the $1-2 can play super tight and when you drop $2 without seeing a flop it can just kill the game. It all comes down to table selection.
Solid sessions Rice. I’m taking a trip to AZ in July. I want to put some hours in at both Talking Stick and Lone Butte. I was looking forward to your feedback about the rooms. I’m going to play 2/3 and 3/5, whatever the $1000-$1500 max is. I heard it’s match the stack. Did you notice this?
@@HighRohller If it's up to me, way more. I think ~290 are guaranteed. I've been hearing there's no shortage of opportunities to offer to stay later than scheduled.
Tier credit multipliers work for poker in reno. Pro tip, if you sit down at a table before the promo begins, do not change seats or tables before the promo begins. All of your hours before start of promo will be multiplied as well. Above all else, have the dealer swipe you out a few minutes before the promo ends. That is critical Seriously, I think they are intentionally rewarding poker players who are willing to play in reno
Let us know when you get your schedule. I will be in town 05/29 - 06/02 and will try and get over to orleans for one of your shifts and hopefully see you at a 4/8 table.
That's what most people told me. I never heard that from the Wynn employees though. -- Even if it is, you can sign up now, and just wait until your birthday month to use it.
@@VegasPokerNomad I went today and asked the rewards desk about it. They said I have to earn 7k points and wait til my birthday month next March. Did you successfully use yours outside B-Day month?
You mentioned you don't play blackjack. You ever thought about learning to count? If you appreciate the 1/3 poker tables for good conversations/atmosphere, blackjack tables are often even better. And you can get a $25+ EV per hour at a lot of the off strip double deck games with a modest spread.
I've considered it. Maybe it's worth it to breakeven and accrue comps. But a lot of people say it's very difficult to beat it for an amount of money that's worth it. Pit bosses are better at noticing counters, too many decks, etc.
@@VegasPokerNomad Yeah it's not amazing or anything. Variance and bankroll requirements are higher than poker. You can't count on getting a ton of hours in like poker since backoffs will happen. But if you're always around casinos its a nice skill to have. And the game itself doesn't get more difficult if you wanted to increase the stakes.

It’s funny that the 2d commercial @ beginning of video there was a guy holding a rice cooker.

LB's $2-$3 is $1,000 maximum and match the stack.
Nothing worst than employees that have no clue what they are doing. That kind of staff will always make rulings in favor of the local regular players.
Whats the dealing challenge criteria going to be? You think you'll deal over/under 350 hours?
People voted for hours and wages each Monday instead.

Good to know.
I somehow got 7,900 tier credits for 32 hours of poker. I'm not really sure how that is possible@@VegasPokerNomad

Indian casinos you never know 😂
How can the 1 and 9 seats see each other at all on that bean table???
We were 8-handed. I said I was in the 1-seat and it was difficult to see the 7's cards and the 8's cards.
I am baffled. What do the 5(?) slot dollars add to the game experience?
I don't know what you're asking.
What stakes was this?
Talking Stick was $2-$3.
Lone Butte was $1-$2.
