Chigee sent out their AIO 5 for me to install and test on the Honda Africa Twin, integrating everything from a dashcam to Blind Spot Detection, Android Auto and Apple Carplay to GPS speedo and tyre pressure monitoring system.

Doesn't Africa Twin have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrated into its dashboard?
It certainly does but this also provides wireless carplay so you don't have to have the phone hard connected to the bike. It also gives a great GPS speedo and dash cam feature. In my two most recent videos you can see I use the phone hard wired to the AT Android Auto and then use the Chigee system for accurate speed. It's a neat piece of kit
@@ADVBrettAre you aware that you can make any carplay wireless? I use a carlinkit air 2 for my car. Thre are more systems. It costs only like 50 dollars.
@@Bramoss More than aware brother, the Africa Twin already has Android Auto and Apple Carpaly, Chigee gave me this unit to test out. I've since removed that and replaced it with a Garmin Zumo XT2.
Does it need its own sim card?
How secure is it to the bars? Its permanently mounted could someone steal it?
Hey Phil, it doesn't require a SIM card but does have a slot for an SD memory card. It's very secure with the Chigee Bar Mount kit. I'd be very surprised if anyone was successful in stealing it!

@@philwilliams7019 Any time at all mate! Yes it takes everything from the phone, I would recommend that the phone is connected as the wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto connection could drain the battery. It's basically mirroring the phone, I'm really impressed with it overall, still testing a few of its features, work, storms and Xmas has gotten in the way of video editing!
To add to Brett’s comments, the screws are some sort of anti-theft ones, but like anything, if some dirtbag wants your stuff bad enough they’ll get. Chances are though, they may wreck it, thus making it a pointless exercise for them.

Will the gps work without a phone
Yes, it comes with a gps receiver so you don't need your phone for gps.
The technology available now is amazing. I would probably have to attend a training class to be able to fully understand and use it to it’s full potential 😂. Going on the footage of where you plan to put it, won’t that interfere with your videoing? Your mobile in this video is blocking a clear view.
Hey Jeff! The level of tech is certainly increasing at a rapid rate!! I found the AIO-5 pretty easy to get used to pretty quickly! A lot of this is fully automated so it just works as it's activated.
I agree with the blocking of the view. It's something I'm a little concerned about. The AIO-5 is smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro so I'll see what it looks like. Chances are I'll end up keeping the phone in a pocket or tank bag and just keep the AIO-5 running on the bars. We will see!!
Does it work with normal gloves?
Sure does, I've tested with summer & winter gloves, works very well!
I fitted my Chigee a few days ago. The glove test was the first. It’s touch and go (pun intended) with my summer gloves. No problems with the winter ones, though.
Nice work, how are you finding it after the first month?
@@ADVBrett my first big ride this past weekend saw it perform no problems. The basic program that runs it all could do with some improvements including an easier way to dump the media from the cameras to an external drive. I’d like to see a more detailed trip computer and ride statistics screen, too.
When shutting down it displays ride stats for about ten seconds then they disappear. It would be good if I could view them on-screen before turning off the bike and shutting down the CHIGEE.
The screen quality is great. Bright sunny days don’t affect its readability. Heaps better than the Garmin Zumo XT that it’s replaced.

Doesn't match? You mean between the Chigee and the bike display?
