    The fact that a 2019 bike is considered old blows my mind. It's crazy to see how fast tech is coming into bikes, which is a GOOD thing. Tech coming into bikes will only make riding as a whole much more safe, just as long as people don't get too many distractions with screens/lights.
    This will HELP the entire community, as bikes are still known for kids who simply break laws and risk their own lives along with others. Also victims.... Most riders have a victim mindset, blaming everyone on the road for their mistakes.

      Would normally agree, except Fortnine video on safety research data SHOWS THE OPPOSITE. More gadgets = more distractions, for autos and bikes alike.

    Thank you Chase, I've really enjoyed watching your videos for the past couple years, keep it up👌, I wish I could be a WBR member, but even $5 every month is a decent bit when you live is South Africa, for me that's R95 a month and R1,141 a year🦀 I have a tight budget keeping my existing car and bike going🫣

      @FogsWolfzzz your phone's screen is technically off, it shouldn't drain it as much as it would while navigating on the phone.

    I have this installed removed my quad lock phone. Phone now sits inside my jacket.They are many kids on scooters snatching phones, also if u drop bike your phone is with you. Love the instant TPMS I will b removing my Ducati internal TPMS at £300 the chigee is £79 and transferable between bikes. I m loving the chigee esp BSD and recording cams shame the price is a bit high now I got it at super early bird

  • @FamousKr3w214
    @FamousKr3w214 4 місяці тому

    The unit comes with a SD card. I've been using this unit since they first shipped the early bird backers units on Indigogo. I ended up getting the stem mount for mine for better mounting placement. And I've found that they tell you to put the gps module towards the center away from the main unit in order to improve gps accuracy. I think you also forgot to mention in your video that they often release firmware updates for these which is awesome. (Update through a wifi connection.) and theres also a Chigee app to view recorded clips. Along with the parking sentry I think you also forgot to mention. Detects when someone touches your bike while parked even when the bike is off and discreetly starts recording.

  • @SandraFleming-p1p
    @SandraFleming-p1p 25 днів тому

    I would LOVE to get one of these, but I can't even park it outside of a rest stop since it's hard wired. Their only quick release unit is for BMW only.

  • @FlesHBoX
    @FlesHBoX 6 місяців тому +14

    Trust me, you don't want it to come with an SD card, you want a quality SD card that isn't going to fail in 10 minutes for this, and nothing exiting a factory in China with an SD card can do that. In the 3D printing world step 1 of getting a new printer is to throw the sd card or usb stick that comes with the printer in the trash.

    Having a dashcam is such a good idea. I run a VioFo MT1 on my Tiger 900. Not as fancy as that, but still pretty solid. Would be interested to see how that one handles recording at night as a lot seem to fall short when it comes to low lighting.

    So replacing taking your eyes off the road to input your code and scroll through Spotify with taking your eyes off the road to hit a couple less buttons then swipe and scroll through Spotify.
    All I do is pick a giant playlist or a station before I start my ride, and if I want a different song, I reach up and press the "next" button on my Cardo just through feel. Eyes still on the road and traffic.
    If you NEED map visualization, your phone works just as well, this just adds another thing to look at in your cockpit. I keep turn by turn audio navigation on from my phone through my Cardo. Again, keeping my eyes on the road.
    Sure, having a front and rear dashcam is really nice, probably the only upside to this unit. Otherwise it's just more stuff to distract you from the top thing that will keep you safe; awareness of your surroundings.

    I am worried about long term damage from water. I know it says on the website that its IP67. If you look up IP67 it says "water-resistant up to a depth of about 3 feet for up to 30 minutes", but what about if you are on a trip, in the rain for 8 hours straight? How good or how long is it going to hold up?

    This is an amazing product just a bit expensive in my opinion (there's cheaper options that have the same features except for the AI algo that controls the blindspot, probably less quality but 1/5 of the price). My only concern is that you shouldnt carry your phone on the handlebar because if you have a real accident (highway/high speed) the bike could go in a different way than you and you wouldnt be able to call for help if needed.

    Hy Chase, just wondering about the TPMS, did you have to use additional balancing weights to counteract the weight of the tire pressure modules ? or did you just run with it. thinking about buying the TPMS set from Chigee, but if i have to start messing with my bike to much i won't buy it. Great video btw

    Any chance of doing a comparison video to the cheaper Amazon Models? Carpuride, Weuaste, TTXSCAM, maybe see about that new Beeline Moto 2? The camera was talked about a lot, but I'm most interested in the mapping and screen delays. Also cited on a few of these is power cycling at high RPM (presumably due to vibrations). Just started looking at all the Carplay options, think its about to refresh my 2003 SV650S like its a 2024

    • @chaseontwowheels
      @chaseontwowheels  6 місяців тому

      A comparison would be a huge pain with all the wiring required personally. I've taken my bike all the way thru the rev range (MT10s are hard to not wheelie) and I've never had a power cycle issue. That being said the MT10 is a pretty smooth bike and doesn't vibrate a crazy amount.

    It's interesting but it seems many of the features still rely on a connection to your phone - with limited connection to Android compared to iOS. While the blind spot detection and cams are interesting, I'm not sure if it's worth replacing the QuadLock - Android Phone setup I currently have.

    Really don't get the comment about the phone. 1, Ao reason at all that the phone couldn't be to the side as it is here, especially if you are happy with it to the side as you seem to be here. 2, What's wrong with rotating your phone to mount horizontally?
    It's really simple, confusing statements like that that make people like me really not trust of believe the other comments or thoughts.
