Kadeem Hardison doesn’t get the credit he deserves for being the comic relief in some of the movies he has been in. He really carried this movie on his back, no bs.

This movie pretty much foreshadowed the long running internet joke that Angela Bassett is a modern day vampire because she doesn't age
She really hasn't aged.
She played another vampire adjacent character on American horror story hotel.....still

Fun Fact: Angela Basset was 37 in this movie, I thought she was like 27😅. Max was on one, dude really wanted and pursued Rita until he got her.

This movie used to have me rolling on the floor laughing 😂😂 I know it was supposed to be a serious movie but it had more comedy than seriousness especially the part where John Whiterspoon kept saying "She did the flip flop on me"😅 And the part where Kadeem Hardison eye got stepped on😅
This movie is pretty much Bram Stoker's Dracula + Coming To America.

Vampire in Brooklyn is a straight up 90s vampire classic this video takes me back to my childhood. Plus this is perfect for 🎃

This movie is incredibly underrated, I love this movie and even though this isn't one of Wes Craven's best this is still a very fun and highly entertaining movie
What's crazy is that Eddie was the one pushing for more horror and Wes wanted more comedy.

Rita was already half vampire before Max met her, he didn't get her to agree to be a vampire. Anyway, her human side eventually won.
Random Thought…But I always thought Justice (Allen Payne) & Rita (Angela Bassett) were such an attractive duo in this film. Like their whole swag individually and between the two of them was just beautiful. 💜

Man this movie came out 2 years before I was even born. 😂 I use to be terrified of Eddie Murphy every time I watched this on VHS. Now that I’m older this movie is pure comedy to me. That church scene will forever had me in tears 🤣😭. Besides Boomerang, This was Eddie Murphy’s best role in my opinion, I wish he did more serious roles like this.

This will forever be a classic for me I’ve always loved Vampire in Brooklyn there are great funny quotables and Kadeem Hardison is so funny in this
I still watch this movie to this day! Angela deserves sooo much love for her work! John Witherspoon’s scene when he talked to the police was my favorite! I heard it was ad-lib. And when Max transforms into Preacher Pauly, I fell out laughing! This was more comedy than horror. Max was definitely a master manipulator! Nikki should’ve got the skeeza sticker for her thirst. Is it me or when Max began to decay, he looked like Evilene from The Wiz?? Thoroughly enjoyed this analysis.

This movie is a great balance of comedy and horror (miss scary movies being scary).
Seriously, as funny as this was, the violence and makeup scared me when I was little.

This is definitely underrated! We need more black vampires in the mainstream!! I don’t like when vampire are weak to Christian religion stuff like crosses & stuff cause they suppose to predate that especially with Max saying he originated in Egypt before European Christianity was even a thing. But yea Kadeem was so funny & I wish we had more movies like this! Eddie Murphy definitely the goat for showing versatility in black entertainment with showing us as African kings & queens & vampires & businessmen/women.

YO!! i remember getting ready to see some other movie at the theatre and seeing the "Coming Soon" poster for Vampire in Brooklyn in the theatre lobby. i was pleasantly surprised when i saw it, and my first thought was how good Eddie looked as a 90s Blackula. And i was excited to see how Eddie would pull off a horror film.
Then some lady says to her girlfriend: "Ooh, is that Eddie Murphy?! He look GOOD!" 😆
I actually thought he looked amazing as a vamp! Very handsome imo. No one else could pull off that wig lol

i went to the theatre with my mother to see this, and. .. i enjoyed myself, the movie made me laugh, but Angela Bassett as a vampire scared the s*** out of me. i think i was afraid to go to sleep for a couple weeks.
