      @@peterjarneson I just looked him up and he has like 3 professional suffixes - chiropractor, clinical nutritionist, and natural medicine. He's talked about how to do a healthy vegan diet. Mic the Vegan has a public health degree which is less credible than a natural medicine/clinical nutritionist degree in terms of what foods you should eat for optimal health. Just comparing the two, Mic looks kinda moist and pastey, like he's sick. Dr. Axe looks like he's got some color and more vibrant.

    “Doctor” is a stretch here. He doesn’t have a medical degree. Also, people should note that there is a gaping chasm between a registered dietician (RD) and a certified nutritionist (what this man is). A registered dietician has to get a 2-year masters of science degree in dietetics, with prerequisite undergraduate courses, as well. A certified nutritionist need not have any sort of degree, and could simply complete a quick online course to become “certified.” Quite frankly, it’s a joke and nobody should take nutrition advice from these people. If you require actual nutrition counselling, please be sure to see a registered dietician (RD).

    People who happen to eat more protein might work out more and exercise improves both sleep and testosterone production in the long term (it dips in the short term during the stresses of working out), so there might be a correlation in some individuals.

    Not trolling but after being vegan for 7 years I’ve been tempted (haven’t eaten animals or their product yet). I understand the science and morality but man I’m starting to slowly just dive into the same cognitive dissonance I use to call out on prior carnists in the past.
    I use to be so passionate about veganism and go to events and gatherings. I slowly started to lose interest the start of this year. No sugar coating but I just don’t seem to care anymore. I’m internally upset with myself for being so negative.

      So you're having a Cypher-blue pill moment. Sorry to hear you're losing touch with your compassion. There's a lot going on in the world. Uncertainty in the economy, wars, inflation, increasing crime and violence. When us humans feel not at peace, it can trigger apathy or even worse, misdirected hatred. I see it all the time, and I've been there once or twice, I'm not judging. It might help you to revisit your WHY. What made you decide to go vegan. And also, do things that bring you joy and serenity. Like maybe hiking, swimming, meditation, baseball, tennis, painting, plenty of sleep, good, healthy meals, routine-mamals thrive on routine.
      Especially during times like these, it's important to take good care of ourselves.

    From what I read about Fenugreek is that it blocks off DHT or the bad Testosterone that causes baldness. There is still not enough research around it and I still suffer from horrible sneezing from it. Yeah, never take Fenugreek.

    While I agree one gram of protein per lb of bodyweight is not needed for keeping protein up, or needed at all really, it’s definitely not an absurd amount of protein especially for people doing serious resistance training. I actually hit that relatively easily on my vegan diet almost without trying anymore.

    Wow, some good common sense from Dr Axe :)
    The question is actually whether you would rather have the testosterone in you blood (where it's measured) or in your cells (where it's used).
    Because of this I just roll my eyes when people bring up this kind of thing, we don't know enough about the body yet to infer what is really good or bad.

    What? 170 grams of protein? The Bible of Phisiology, the Medical Textbook, Guyton & Hall says 35 grams but for safe puts on 50 grams because you lose about 15 grams a day.

    Hey Mic!
    Have you thought of doing a video dedicated to a direct comparison to wild mammals such as monkeys, cancer rates and also wild carnivorous and I’m mammals in different families but in the same class and the cancer rates to give a comparison of mammals that eat what they are biologically and physiologically supposed to eat compared to the domesticated ones such as us and dogs and cats? Does this make sense? The statistical data doesn’t directly compare, but it’s evident does this make sense? Elements predominantly cancer you know??? I thought it would be kind of cool. Like maybe compare wolf species if there’s any data on that if they found like rates of cancer high in them or anything. Or rates of coyotes and foxes. They’re all the same family.

    • @thedancingvegan13
      @thedancingvegan13 6 місяців тому

      Sorry for all the typos and grammatical errors I was using talk to text. But I was thinking you could pull up some data directly comparing the rate of different diseases and cancers typically correlated with eating foods that are not physiologically and biologically meant to be consumed in large quantities by specific species. Like us eating meat and how domesticated dogs eat high % of beef, lamb, etc. I was also thinking cats as well from different species. Considering cats actual diet is supposed to be mainly bugs and rodents and they’re being fed beef and chicken. You know?

    This whole conversation is stupid. Testosterone isn't something that is the same all day long. If you test your testosterone in the morning hours vs at night, you could see a big number. Just because your results come back at 300 one day, doesn't mean you always have 300 testosterone.
