One thing I will add is that a lot of the WWII liners I have found at antique stores or on eBay do not have the nape strap. It is removable, so it was probably lost by a previous owner or even during the war.
That’s a good insight. I believe that the grommets were easily torn out as well, resulting in re-issued WWII liners being re-webbed with later dated nape straps.
Yeah, even Vietnam liners have this problem. I got mine with a torn grommet. I managed to hold on to the loose grommet though, surprised it lasted so long
@@jacobyouknowwho I actually got a WW2 Westinghouse earlier this year that still had the nape strap. Unfortunately the rest of the liner was pretty worse for wear. Can't win 'em all, I guess. lol.
@duglife2230 Yeah, everything easy to fix on mine doesn't need to be, but things like it has some bad rips in the webbing that I can't fix. Just have to be careful with it and appreciate it for what it is.
