If you are a parent of, say, six children, they are equal in your heart and in your duty to provide for them, but you would recognize they each had different abilities and motivations. Their individuality would be expressed as they matured. If one child mowed neighborhood lawns for money while another spent his time playing video games, it would be wrong to force the lawn mowing kid to share his money. If the gaming kid won a prize at a gaming contest, he should not be forced to share either. That is, unless the family is hungry, in which case all members would share to buy food. So hey, does that make me Right ?

Gottfried does tend to wander in different directions and go back and forth from time periods and places through his talks. He has read many primary sources in multiple European languages and I think it can get overwhelming if someone is not an expert on the topics he mentions. He doesn’t always distill the topic down in ways a lay audience even a well educated one can have a great takeaway from. This is by no means to say he does not offer some very salient points backed up by historical citations just that it is not always concise. I really do appreciate his input and going back to older talks he mentions happenings in Europe both in the past and in the 90’s and 00’s and then looking at the news now it is all the more revealing.

1-Society is assumed as a concrete whole and the individual as a mere indifferent particle disposable or replaceable. The individual as a product of a society that evolves, instead of being society as a product of individuals.
2-It is assumed as true that the good of many justifies the sacrifice of the least.
3-Capitalism is a Marxist concept and assume that it is a system, implies ignoring and denying the rest of the institutions of a civilization.
4-In public discourse it is widely accepted that social classes and genders are concrete and valuable entities as objects of study and worthy of government actions.
5-In the academic fields and in the media, new social values have been imposed and are a dictatorship that consist in the condemnation of supposed and imaginary negative values such as inclusion in response to exclusion; diversity in response to white or yellow privilege; tolerance and acceptance of any imposition or sectarian pride, in response to all the x-phobias that can be imagined.
6-The new thinking is that all problems are social and require action by the State, or at least force a new law that magically solve them.
7-If those who have power have fewer problems than the rest, then the solution to all problems is to empower the most vulnerable.
8-If there is any doubt, consult the 30 objectives for the millennium of the UN.

But here is the thing... the reason that i believe that human beings by nature are not equal is because of the fact that i really do believe that all human beings, by nature are equal. We all enter this world in the same lottery. We all are posed with life challenges of how we thrive or fail within those given parameters. And this is not a moral scenario wherein good people automatically win, and bad people fail. Not at all. But as long as we all have self determination, we can at least have some say in choosing what values we need to succeed at, and which are more disposable. For example... i am at a point in life, the odds of me being overwhelmingly successful financially are pretty much foreclosed. However, do i still have the option of being a good man in the eyes of my friends and family? Absolutely i do. Do i have the option of being a good man in my own conscience towards God? Again, yes. Am i going to lament that i am not as rich as Bill Gates? Actually... i would have no idea what to do with it, it would almost surely destroy me.
But does that mean that life was not fair to me, or some how dealt me a bad hand? Absolutely not. There is a piece of advice my father tried to give me when i was really mulling over these questions as a younger man. And at the time he said it, it seemed so cliche, and trite. But years later, i see more clearly his wisdom. He said "life is what you make of it." Yes, profound, -i know. It never fails to disappoint in how anti climactic it is, and how many times you never heard this before. But at the same time this truth is the best hope you have. As big or as small as your hands may be -that work you can do with your own hands is what is going to let you look back and find meaning in the end. What your life amounts to is what you choose to make it about. And we are all equal in that sense.

Very deep stuff. As someone who's more Alt Right (ha! :) ) I disagree with some of what he says, and of course he's eliding somewhat the importance of the roles people of his tribe have played in all this, but he's more incisive, comprehensive and profound than most people who talk about these subjects.

Yeah, he's not completely unconscious of the problem - but let's face it, you can't really expect anyone to really _fully_ come out against bad influences their own people have had on history, it's too close to the bone. I wouldn't expect it of any European, or Chinese, etc., either. It's as much as honour demands that one doesn't actively _minimize_ whatever baneful effects one's people may have had on others, anything beyond that is a bonus.

Without a hierarchy the system will collapse. Equal opportunity is not a zero sum game like monopoly. Anyone with talent, luck, and determination should have a fair shot at life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
