I love the fact that they never hooked up. It makes their relationship special. I just binged the whole series and I was far more interested in the personal relationships than the mysteries.
The magic is the fact that is stated here. It's far easier to slip into a romantic story, because the parties involved don't struggle with emotions, trust, dependency anymore. Here Watson and Holmes have their pasts and personas. Trying to deal with them while solving cases is what's challenging. It keeps their lives taut and balanced and us viewers hooked. Why spoil that with something easy and too common?
Its a different dynamic. Just watch the last episode and spoiler alert..... they didn't.. and i like it like that. They love each other more than romantic love, more than friendship they just do.
hm... for me, it's not really a question of "tension" in Elementary, although it's certainly there, or of anyone's gender. it's more to do with the chemistry between Holmes and Watson in whatever incarnation you choose to find them (and, given my obsession with all things Holmesian, I've seen a LOT). there's a reason theirs is considered one of the closest relationships in English (and perhaps all) literature. it's only logical that, in this sort of "soul mate" type connection they've always shared, people see romantic implications. it is rather maddening, however, that it's only really ever been subtext, no matter how strong. just once, I'd like to see someone finally give over and admit it outright in canon, not just dance around it because the showrunners, etc are afraid of offending some fans.
I don't think that the writers need to make Sherlock end up with Watson or vice versa but personally I think that they need to find a female character that can show that Sherlock in fact can share a bond with a someone besides Watson that he can love in a way that is normal to him. In terms of Watson character I could see her marry and have a family so it would be nice to see that dynamics between Watson and Sherlock progress.
You mean besides the twins? The occasional hook ups? Lol. I like Sherlock as a character study of a broken individual finding his way back to life. Watson has scars also. They help each other. That's the relationship, as it should be.
I don’t think they “ need “ to do anything just to Satisfy societal expectations around relationships which in case you haven’t been paying attention - don’t tend to work out. Are you called Watson?
RULE NUMBER ONE, DON'T DO IT! IT RUINED MOONLIGHTING!!!! RULE NUMBER TWO, DON'T BRING IN A NEW CHARACTER WHEN THE RATINGS START TO TANK. RULE NUMBER THREE, DON'T HAVE A BABY!!! MORE RULES TO FOLLOW AS SOON AS I THINK OF THEM. And, yes, I was screaming!! LOL!!!
i haven't watched season 6 yet, but i saw some gifs on tumblr and they were talking about adopting a baby there. So i guess they broke that rule allready XD No spoilers please, because i really do not have any idea what is going on in season 6.
like 'The Avengers' - John Steed and Emma Peel worked together, drank champagne together, but the exact relationship between the partners is left ambiguous...
hello pcenter, sweater without buttons is pull over the head. lucy graduated in nyc hs in 1990. think jonny was 17 yr old in hackers. started my engineering degree when that message was sent about connecting outside of the ethernet. sherlock was english from the 60s - not sure if acid was in england. elle for medium used
i don't understand all these british actors and actresses that are attracted by the States and american citizenship ! Once they get a role in Hollywood, they want to become american : so pitiful ! I won't go live in America even if I was paid millions to do so ...
I think it's because they believe they'd get better opportunities in the States (blockbuster movies, extensive networking). It's easier to take up many projects when you're in your home country so that's probably why they want the citizenship.

I liked they didn’t. I agree with the guy who said it’s too easy - it’s a tired cliché.
I like to think Joan and Sherlock did get together by the end of the show, just not said out loud.
To the creators, thank you for protecting Watson and Sherlock's special bond all throughout the show. It was priceless. ❤
Their friendship literally changes my life and how I view things.
Lucy hit on the spot. It was never sexual tension. It was genuine care& love & even pestering lolol
yes, pestering! I lived for it 😂
Season 2 paint it black Sherlock’s reaction to Joan being kidnapped is the most heartbreaking thing
That moment was when I knew he was in love with her, beyond the shadow of a doubt.
@@number1beastielover He loves her, but he's not in love with her.
@@haute03 absolutely. We have forgotten that one can love another without it being a romantic kind.
When he told his brother "if anything happens to Watson, ILL MURDER YOU"

He said: ... it`s not a good idea for Sherlock and Holmes... ^^
I don’t know about you but I prefer them being friends.
I think they'd be together just not outright said. So viewers can make their own conclusions if they are just friends or more than friends.
Its a different dynamic. Just watch the last episode and spoiler alert..... they didn't.. and i like it like that. They love each other more than romantic love, more than friendship they just do.
Exactly , why categorize love?
I'm literally digging up interviews of the elementary cast...So few..T.T
sharon246787 same here! Just finished the 7th season yesterday and now my life is empty :(
I love this show I wish they continued Season 8.

I like them as friends. It's nice to see a male-female friendship that never needs to be anything else.
I love them onscreen and offscreen too. I think they are very good friends.
you can just see jonny saying amigdala over in his head
Jonny Lee is a very good actor. Here is is so different than the role he portrayed.
So is Lucy Liu.
Why can't platonic friendships be riviting?
they can! ;)
They should. People should rise above the repeating drum roll of romance
They can, I find platonic love much more interesting.
I don't care I ship JoanLock so hard it hurts-.-
its too easy to do,the man and woman are leads so they must get together, been done to death, plus dont say ship its right up there with goals.
if Johnlock happens anywhere it's on "Sherlock" xD not on elementary
true
@@dogmatil7608i dont care 2 years have passed, fuck you
Sexual tension keeps you coming back. It’s like the X-Files and Mulder and Scully. When they finally did hook up, no more tension, ratings fell off.

Sherlock did love Moriarty. It's not necessary always to have a family to complete yourself.

It is Sherlock and Watson....no matter what the sex. Leave it at that.

I LOVE THIS COUPLE SOOOOO MUCH 5555555
First time I've seen an interview in which the primary actor doesn't get to say anything.
"Will they or won't they"
Me:DOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOITDOIT
Is there a complete version of this interview?
Is there a full video of this interview?
I'm so glad that they didn't. The strength of their love didn't need for that to happen.
Os Atores são incríveis muito bom 😀😘
0:16 Sherlock and Holmes...lmao
Logic, are you here????

"things change when one is a man and one is a woman" holy shit, this guy is even worst than Moffat.

Is there a full interview available anywhere?
