Autoplay is even more powerful. After selecting Smart Piano you can change the instrument to anything you like. It will create bassoon riffs if you want it to. I just discovered this today and I can't believe it. What an app
That’s great that you can edit chords in auto play! I had no idea..I had a song with a chord unavailable in the key I was using and had to work around the issue..so this makes life easier-there’s always something new to learn with every video, thanks a lot!
Thanks James! Yes, I think you asked about that recently and I’m not sure that I was able to help you at the time! I kind of forgot about editing the autoplay MIDI notes but glad we got there in the end! 👍
Hello and thank you for your great videos. Is there any way of downloading additional auto play riffs? I use them a lot as I’m not an instrumentalist but things are starting to sound a bit samey.
Hey there. So, not additional riffs but in case you aren’t aware you can use two or three fingers to tap and get different autoplay riffs - so 12 for each instrument in total. ua-cam.com/video/NJp9Jd6JzUE/v-deo.html You can also download and import MIDI files of new riffs and add these to any instrument track. ua-cam.com/video/FoabwNwrcMY/v-deo.html Hope these videos help. 👍
@@PeteJohnsMusic Thank you Pete. I knew about the 12 options but most of the 3 finger ones I find too fussy. What I like about the auto play as opposed to loops is the ability change chords to create your own melodies with them. I'm wondering if there are other apps which do the same job that I could input through AudioBus?
Great video, Pete. I simply love your channel! I've bought a new iPhone, so I was able to download the recent update for Garageband where you made a video for a while ago. I'm happy now, and the next step is a newer model iPad! Greetings, Emiel.
Great to hear Emiel, and thanks as always for your support. I’m sure you’ll get some great use out of your new device and be able to create more good music.
Pete Johns Thanks mate! And about my support, you deserve it! Most people underestimate how good mobile devices are for making music. We're heading towards a new era of music producing and your channel is a good example how great it really is!
Hey there. No, unfortunately you can only use Autoplay on the way in. I would suggest playing around with the chords view as you don’t really need to know much as GarageBand will help you by icing you a set of chords that work well in the key you are in. Check out this video for more information. ua-cam.com/video/Pp2yx0bREIA/v-deo.html
Remember you can change the bass part of the keyboard when it is playing it’s main chord, for example if you want to play a C major, with an F in the bass. :)
Yep. Good tip which I should have covered! Hard to cram everything in to these videos. I think I covered this in one of the keyboard videos? Probably after a reminder from you. 😄

You’re very welcome my friend. I hope you get value from the other videos here on the channel and consider subscribing. 👍
Sweet Pete! 👍🏻 I did not know about the auto play for keyboards!!! You da man! 😎
Thanks Rick! And the good news is that you can use this on the Alchemy synths and all the other sounds you didn’t have on your previous iPad! 👍
Pete's best👍👍👍
Thanks my friend. 👍

Pete Johns You're welcome :)
Hi Pete, can I play a chord in the pianoroll beforehand and somehow use autoplay afterwards? Because i cannot read notes.

greetings.... i have a problem .. it doesn't work with the strings,,,, why does it happen???? (ipad pro m1)
Oh really? It should. I believe they removed the multiple finger presses though. studiolivetoday.com/garageband
I haven’t been able to get 2 or 3 fingers to change anything. Any tips? iPad Pro 2019 updated July 2020
I had my chords set to power chords, c5 and so on, it only changes pattern with certain chords
Oh? Haven’t come across anything like this sorry? Might be a question for the GarageBand Users Facebook group? studiolivetoday.com/gbu
How to find this option in Logic Pro x ? Or in fl studio ?
Not sure sorry? I don’t use either of those.
So is auto play sampling?
Not really. It’s just creating an MIDI track on a virtual instrument.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Are they automatic or presets?
Here under one minute after it was uploaded XD
Nice! Always love your support. 👍
Nice I use auto play to
It’s a super handy function for sure!
