- Subaru Starlink is retained and fully functional, factory settings are accessible for lights and locks. This unit will fit nicely in this car, vents are not blocked. The colors match the car beautifully.
For now I am running the factory speakers, this will eventually be replaced with aftermarket amps and speakers
I think you're the first person to use this for Android Auto rather than Apple Car Play. Thanks!
Did you install the GPS antenna for this receiver ?
I had ordered a bunch of shit to create a USBC port on my tacoma. Found the USBC extension and some plastic glue fit perfectly in my old USB port. Just removed the old port from the housing and glued. Looks factory honestly. Love this receiver though
Hey bro did you retain your aux when you installed this ? I just installed in my tacoma
Does this unit get access to the climate controls? Thinking about slapping this in my 21 STI but it would cover the vents unless the unit is mounted lower over the climate controls
I have the 12 speaker harman kardon system on my 2017 Outback limited, do you know if this headunit will be able to connect and integrate with that sound system?
There is ton of wiring behind that thing, and that's what I wanna see lol
I have the exact same car with 7" display. I want to install Sony XAV-9500ES (10" display with single din). Can it be installed?
Hey, does the air from your vents impact the temperature of the head unit at all ? I’m really interested in one, but during winter time my vents are on full blast and I wouldn’t want the heat to overheat the deck. Have you noticed anything like that?
Android auto version is still old?
I have the exact same setup, but my call buttons on the steering wheel don't work, do you have the same problem?
nope, thats gotta be your maestro RR2 programming
How did you get the factory USB ports connected to the unit? Also does the vehicle info require special connections?
I'm responding from my other channel but I did not use the factory USB ports I ordered some part from the UK on ebay that had dual usb and i had to swap the factory faceplate on it
@@RodimusPrime Can you tell me the name of the part you ordered from UK?
Hey guys did you ever get that part number ?
Does the vehicle info require any special connection?
Just the ads maestro RR2 and theres a connection to the obd2 port
When you fill up your tank, does it show 100% ? I have currently and issue with my rav4, the gas tank and fuel sender have a defect. I cannot get a reading past 85% because the tank has an issue, needs replacement. Cheers
Did you get this fixed just noticed this same issue on my tacoma
So many functions are controlled using the OEM head unit. What happens to those functions when you ditch it?
which functions do you mean, if you are referring to the dome lights and lock settings that is under a maestro features menu so you dont lose those, actually there isnt a single thing that I lost
Will this be the case for a 2022 Crosstrek limited?
This is my other channel responding but yes the limited uses this same setup only difference is not chopping off the rcas on the t harness from ads
Does it relies on tethered phone to get wifi & GPS?
For the internet connection yes, the unit has its own gps sensor
Subaru has the most hideous of stereo arrays ever. Good move. Was going to do the same with my Imprez but swapped cars altogether.
