Update #2: All of you that commented on my car being 5AT will be happy to hear it's in the middle of a 6MT swap with a proper clutch (twin disc carbon).
Update #1: My G is no longer black, it's been blue and supercharged for a couple of years now. I don't check this video often, so send me a message on Facebook (Fab Vilches), or @g35Fab on IG, if you have a question regarding the cars or parts.

Lol. Everyone has their transmission preference. I learned how to drive a car on an MT, but I prefer the comfort of my AT coupe (now Vortech supercharged with over 400whp), especially in SoCal traffic. The TransGo is great as well.

@@ithug5778 No. I sold it before I got the chance. I have a Hawk Eye STI now. If I get back in a G as daily to the Subie, I'd get a G Coupe with the HR motor. I had the DE model. Not worth it in my opinion for modding. For as much as you spend, you don't gain much. With an HR, you can easily break 300whp and spend less than you would on a DE. Plus, the bottom end is stronger in the HR.

This should be the standard to which all Side by Side rev/exhaust car videos should be done, the quality of equal visual and audio time between the two cars told my OCD tendencies to stfu. :D
A year later, and my old comment was a bit harsh but I can still just sit and listen to this shit because dual TDX VQs are a fucking symphony.
I was not sure on which car I liked more until I heard the silver one was a manual haha!

Both our exhaust setups should be around $1600-$1700 + the ART pipes which are like $550 or so now. Definitely not the cheapest setups out there, but well with the money.
No rasp or drone with the ART pipes.
I do have a grounding kit, but the faster shifting is due to the Transgo valve body kit I have installed which causes the tranny to shift instantly and aggressively. That's why it chirps the tires on 2nd and 3rd gear.

nice!!... i love the white one.... got one with a catback Borla exhause which i just added Megan Racing Test pipes to. it sounds smooth when driving normal and MEAN when dipping it.

silver one is better. exhaust is less raspy and its a 6MT not a 5AT so automatic win
Prefer the V2 TDX nicer sound
The lack of drone along with the sound make it worth every penny. I swapped over from a Greddy RS (updated TI-C with better materials) and have not looked back since.
That Transgo Valve body Trans upgrade makes such a noticable diffrence. It really speeds up the gear changes...
The kit itself was about $245 shipped from summit racing, and a g35driver forum member did the install for $300. Most shops charge $850+ for the kit and install.

Sorry for the late response.
The black G with the Shockwave V2 has very minimal drone to no drone due to it's resonators. The silver G has the Shockwave V1 with no resonators, so it drones a little.
The black G has the OEM sport bumper with an INGS lip, INGS side skirts, chargespeed rear bumper, and Strafespeed trunk.
Silver G has an Inven front, Impul side skirts (I think), chargespeed rear bumper, and dori luxe trunk.

Both exhausts are set up nicely and I dig the rear diffusers. Too bad the black one's auto. It just doesn't sound proper on up shifts. Too bad Nissan doesn't have a swappable dual clutch trans with paddles. That would be sweet. Perhaps it's time for a 6 speed swap. Shouldn't be hard to source since G35 sedans are pretty common.

Yes, strafe trunk on the black one. We both have the Chargespeed rear, mine has the diffuser in carbon fiber. 20" Work VS-XX in Burning Black.

Why is it Nissans V6 engines sound so much better than everyone elses? I'm literally considering on getting one just purely based on sound.

@lhetty15 - I've had my coilovers for about 2 years now and have yet to have any problems with them at all. 32-way dampening, and can be dropped to the ground if you so choose. If you're looking for a new set of coils for under $1000, I would definitely recommend these.

Exterior wise: OEM sport bumper with INGS lip, INGS sides, Chargespeed rear, Strafespeed trunk. Work VS-XX wheels, Alliance BBK, dropped on Function & Form Type II coilovers.
Love the way they sit and sound NICE JOB.
Those bumpers are from Chargespeed. They are about $1200 without installation. The trunk is from Strafespeed about $400.
The 1st Gen Motordyne exhaust was the BEST (blk G35).
Both cars have the Chargespeed rear. The black one has the CF diffuser version.

Black G looks to have Work VS-XX wheels. Silver G seems to have Volk GTS wheels. Both beautiful cars.
No, stock came with 3.5 gears. I bought the 3.7 pumpkin off of an 09 G37 6MT Sport on ebay. It was a direct swap with no modifications needed.
You can swap diffs even if it's automatic?😱
The black one sound like a Nissan GTR... great sound. Perhaps both !!!! I am trying to get a 2006 G35, trade for my Nissan Sentra SER Spec V.
@cusemeng44 The dual is around $1400, TDX around $1600. It's really up to your preference, obviously I'm partial to mine (the black G).

@roaringriku They're not spoilers, they're entire trunks. My car (the black one) has the Strafespeed trunk, and Jayk's car has the Dori Luxe trunk.

@IamWARGHOST I've been pulled over once almost 3 years ago since I bought my G, and that was for window tint/no front plate. I've since had this exhaust combo about a 2 years now and have never been pulled over again, and believe me, cops could ticket me for a lot of my current mods. I'm a firm believer that as long as you don't drive like some teenager weaving in and out of traffic and speeding all the time, cops won't hassle you even if you're running illegal mods. Same with Jayk.

Hey man just wondering how loud is the shockwave exhaust actually? I was steering towards the Stillen’s catback exhaust more because it’s a little more quiet at low RPMS and louder at high RPMS. I love the sound and rumble of this exhaust but I’m afraid it’s too loud and I just don’t want to be overly obnoxious or get pulled over.
Function & Form Type II coilovers with SPC front and rear camber kits. Alignment is in spec.

@aycrowd101 You can get the trunk from Strafe Automotive. I bought all the exhaust components directly from the owner of Motordyne Engineering, you can just go to their website. I'm on Function & Form Type II coilovers.

I'd definitely take the silver over the black one. Mainly because it's manual transmission, but the exhaust also sounds better. Manual is too much fun, I don't get why people buy automatic sports cars.
Anyways I just wanna say, G35s are sexy af and are the best sounding cars in the world. And I'll surely be owning one, one day ... Oh, and manual transmission of course. >:]
dont know about the silver one but the black i know for sure is an auto. at 3:24 he turns on his engine and switches gears to "drive". auto gearbox always passes through "reverse" first before getting to "drive" and you see the reverse lights come on for a second.

I'll need to smog my car this year for the first time. I'll either swap my ART pipes with my stock cats, or pass "by other means", lol. I've never seen anyone smog their car with ART pipes and the cat module, so I don't know if it'd pass. But out of the two, the cat module has the most chance to pass.

Black one has shift kit. . Hear it Cherp tires going into second and even third. Just as good as manual.
