David, the most famous king of Ancient Israel was promised a dynasty that would live on forever. His son, Solomon, succeeded David and extended the boundaries of the great nation. However, upon Solomon’s death, the nation was divided in two. Only two tribes remained loyal to the Davidic line which continued to rule from Jerusalem for centuries until the great city fell to the Babylonians in 586 BC. The heir to David’s throne, Zedekiah was taken captive and his sons were killed before his very eyes. When Zedekiah later died in captivity it appeared as though this promise had run its course and the Davidic Dynasty had come to an end.
Maybe Zedekiah also had brothers that were not killed or was he the only son of his father?

Jesus was not of the Davidic line. There are still hundreds if not thousands of descendants of King David alive today.
It was probably a narrative created to deify Jesus. All ancient kings were either worshipped as gods or considered divine in some way.

There are still descendants of King David
The stolen Stone of Scone was recovered from Westminster Abby on Christmas Day 1950 ! On the Dead Sea Scroll's solar calendar, after the Vernal Equinox starting the next Biblical Year, it was placed on the altar in the ruins of Arbroath Abbey on the 11th April 1951.
With a 21st March Vernal Equinox that year, this means that the Stone of Scone was placed on the
altar of Arbroath Abby on the last seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread: a Holy High Day !

There are numerous signs/marks of Israel. There isn't a single place in scripture where God chose "Jews", or made a covenant with "Jews". The biggest and most important sign is referred to in Jeremiah 3131-34, which says that God made his New Covenant with the 12 tribes of Israel, and placed his Laws within their hearts and minds. @@Aaroniii when we look at the history of the nation of Israel, we find that because of the sin of King Solomon and the sins of the people, God was upset and decided to divide the kingdom into two. When He was demonstrating to Jeroboam through a Prophet, how he was going to do this, he made use of 12 pieces of clothing. However, if you pay close attention to how the clothing was shared, you will find that ten pieces were given to Jeroboam while only one was left for David's family. Ten tribes were given to Jeroboam while the tribe of Judah was given to the house of David. The question one would ask is; what happened to the twelfth tribe? Which tribe was reserved? The answer to that question is the tribe of Levi. How? The tribe of Levi belonged neither to Jeroboam nor the house of David. Who did it belong to? It belonged to God. How? Simple. If you read the books of the Pentatech, you will find where it was said by God that the tribe of Levi was his inheritance from Israel 🇮🇱. God himself, claimed ownership of the tribe of Levi and he didn't give it to anyone else. That was why only 11 tribes were shared and one was left. The 10 tribes belonged to Jeroboam, the tribe of Judah belonged to the house of David while the tribe of Levi belonged to God. If we take this into consideration, we will be able to say that the tribe of Benjamin wasn't given to the house of David. If it was, Jeroboam would have 9 tribes, not 10. The only reason it looks like the tribe of Benjamin was given to the house of David is because of the fact that the house of David continued to maintain it's influence over the tribe of Benjamin over the years. Kings of Judah like Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa,Jehoshaphat, Amaziah, Hezekiah and Josiah held a strong influence over the tribe of Benjamin and sometimes tended to treat the tribe of Benjamin like it was theirs. Besides, the city of Jerusalem is and was located in the territory of Benjamin so the whole situation was somehow understandable. Remember, the 10 tribes that were given to Jeroboam were: Reuben, Simeon, Joseph ( Manasseh and Ephraim), Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, Gad,Dan and Benjamin.
