Mutton Curry Recipe | How To Make Mutton Gravy | ‎@Nishooskitchen
Mutton curry is a popular and flavorful dish enjoyed in many cuisines around the world. It typically features tender pieces of mutton cooked in a rich and aromatic gravy made from a blend of spices, tomatoes, onions, and sometimes yogurt. The dish is known for its deep, complex flavors, which can range from mildly spiced to fiery hot, depending on the region and personal preference. Mutton curry is often served with rice, naan, or other types of bread, making it a hearty and satisfying meal.
INGREDIENTS :
400g mutton pieces (bone-in preferred)
2 large onions, Sliced
3 tomatoes, chopped
2-3 green chilies, slit (optional)
1 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1/2 cup of oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
2 teaspoons coriander powder
Salt to taste
Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS :
1. Cook the Mutton:
In a pressure cooker add mutton 400gm, add 2 onions (sliced), ginger garlic paste or chopped 1 tbs, add spices i.e coriander powder, salt, black pepper, turmeric powder etc.
mix all together then add water (2-3) glass.
cover the lid and cook for 10-15min.
2. Prepare the Masala:
Heat oil or ghee in a pot over medium heat. Add tomatoes, cumin seeds, cook it for a while until fragrant and tomatoes get soften and the oil begins to separate from the mixture.
3. Add Spices:
Add red chili powder, coriander powder,, and a little salt if needed . Stir well and cook the masala for a few minutes.
4. Add the Mutton:
Add the boiled mutton pieces to the pot and stir to coat them with the masala. Cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the mutton to brown slightly and absorb the flavors.
5. Simmer the Curry:
Cover and simmer the curry for 5-10mim.
6. Garnish and Serve:
Garnish the mutton curry with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice, naan, or your favorite bread.
Enjoy your homemade mutton curry.
