definitely looks like one of those is out of phase compared to the other as its moving in complete opposite to the other sub worth just double checking your polarity and wiring across both subs as they are definitely not wired the same and causing cancellation. you will definitely see an improvement once they are wired correctly as a matched pair in phase.
They are not out of phase it is just the rolling shutter effect if you have 2 subs next to each other in the light I will do it eathen my dual 12s do it

Yeah sealed is cleaner but not by a whole lot with these subs. I had the w6.v2 two 12s in a spec ported enclosure powered by a rockford 1000 watt amp. Shit was still acurate as hell output ridiculous and sounded good doin it. When people heard it they always asked what kind of subs you got not how many just what the hell are those they sound good. Jl is just that good once you get one you're hooked.
Jason Kidd What about the W1 and W3? Are they that good too? I've only heard a 13" TW5, but it was for less than a minute and the song didn't have much bass.
I had two 12in w3s also after i sold the w6s. They sound good very clean to me. Id go with the w3 they sound good sealed or ported also,but not as good ported compared to say like a w6 which had more power handling and more accurate. W3 is a good sub better than most.
No need to for a high output alternator. THAT'S the beauty in JL AUDIO. You can have a complete system under 2000 watts and not need to do crazy ass mods to the electrical other than wire upgrades. I'd definitely throw away that capacitor and just get another battery. Caps look nice but are unnecessary when you can get another battery that actually helps your electrical. Nice setup though.
caps are necessary if there cheap brands then there bad but if its good brand there good & the only cheap company i know that made a good one is planet audio 10 farad.
Caps should be used after the battery right before the amp. They do have a purpose and that’s to take the strain off the battery because pulling a lot of power from a battery for an extended period of time will make them go bad faster. The capacitor will keep those expensive batteries going longer.
How do the 6v3 sound vs the w3v3? Which one gets louder? I had 2 12 w3v3s sealed and it got pretty loud .. i sold that set up and regret it. Now i wanna get another sealed set up but dont know if i should go for w3s again or w6s or something totally different

Oh yeah, the 1200/1V3 and the 12W6V3's are a match made in heaven! The subs can be wired to 2 ohm stable. The amp ranges from 1.5 to 4ohm which is perfect! Keep in mind that JL Audio under rates their amps so you're getting perfect clean power to those babies!
Ruben Alvarez JL doesn't under rate they just give you exactly what your paying for. When you have a regulated amp say a 3500 crescendo and your sub impedence changes and goes up to 4ohm you loose 2/3 of your power, with the JL being 1200 across a wider range of voltage and impedence 1.5-4ohm you still get that 1200 watts you paid for wherethe crescendo will be at 500 watts. Hell even as high as 8ohm the JL will just loose half power and still have 600 watts and the crescendo or any other unregulated amp will have cut power to a 1/6th its rated power. This is why in the car on music in the real world where it counts the JL will be just as loud or louder then a Korean 3500 or 5k. I just wish for once JL would cater to the bass heads as much as the sq crowd and build a 18w8 130 monster sub with 5 inch coils and a matching slash 10k to match. Just to silence the haters and regain their spl title to go along with some of their sq titles and old spl titles. Don't get me wrong you can still do huge numbers with the 12w7 and 13w7 but I just want to see something on par with the B2 or sundown teams or Alfred audio subs. A true heavy weight monster.

I bought these subs and a RF 1500BDCP amp and I couldn't get enough power to them..nothing like my old kicker cvx days. These subs are power hungry. I need like 2 stand alone batteries to sufficiently power them. What's your power setup?
I was running 2 12 W3s in 5th order band pass ported box paired with a JL 900/5. Accurate as hell tbh but really worked the amp hard. I just installed a HD 1200/1 to my w3s running about 40% gain on the amp and OMFG it hits harder than ever and clean. I'm about to get the same subs but the W6 version. Do you think I can still run the same type of box or would it need to be sealed? I'm all about SQ! I'm running 2 sets of KR 165's for fronts and rear. Any info would be awesome! Thank you
Dude, two sealed w3v3's powered by a JL HD750 will sound so clean & you will still feel it pound on your chest & feel the bass in your hair without draining so much power from your electrical Ported is fine too but then u really need good mids & highs to go with all that bass :)

One w3v3 takes 150 - 500 watts each, two 10inch w3v3 is perfect for HD 750, get two 4 OHM not the 2 OHM, just trust me. & hopefully a bass nob to turn the bass down or up ported will be so much louder that u will really have to upgrade your mids & highs to go with all that ported bass, idk what your budget is I have one 12w3v3 ported on 400 watts, wish I got a sealed 10 on 600 watts better :/ two w3 was out of my budget $$$
It would be ok as long as you wire the dual voice coils so you have a 2ohm impedance. That will give you the full 500W output at 14.4V. I ran two 12" Kickers off a JX500/1D for well over a year and it never gave me any issues. Since upgraded to 12w7ae and HD1200/1.
Leon Serrano make sure it's 1 cubic feet in volume for the 12 inch w6 .55 cube feet for the 10 inch 12 inch subs get boomy so getting it sealed should solve that annoying boomy bass that doesn't let u hear the words in music. & hopefully u can put a good amp & overpower it just a little bit :D

Always was a kicker type. Until i got a 12" jl audio w6. Sounded way better then my 12" solabaric kicker
u2bed91 the w3 is alright for SQ but if you want some bass I’d go w6 or higher
I have a 12W3v3 in a ported spec box and it is a SPL/SQ sub. It sounds great and can beat your back up on 600 watts rms!!

I run mine single jl w6 v3 12 on a zapco z2kd at 2ohm and it takes the abuse all day

It's very clean ! 2 JL audio 6.5 C2's off of a JL Audio 300/4. The only way to go is sealed !
