I love people who play black like that, thats my favorite playstyle and its quite rare to see that many ppl play similar graveyard decks with those kind of commanders.
Question because joè is the active player, could he have not stacked the sheoldred and marchesa trigger? Because they trigger at the same time can he choose how the triggers resolve? Edit grammer.
He can only choose the order if he controls both triggers. Otherwise, the active player's triggers go to the stack first, then the non-active players' triggers, in turn order, and they resolve in reverse order. Joé doesn't control the Sheoldred trigger, so he has to sacrifice a creature before Marchesa can give him a token.
@@DarkEinherjar sheoldred and marchesa are both atb , since Joé was the active player marchesa should be first, though i wonder, can he choose to have it be last as the active player?
Any chance you could have players not use such busy mats for recorded games? Really rough on the eyes and can't tell if there's anything on the board or not 🤔
PSA: Run Graveyard Hate. With no blue on the table, the mono black player was able to just mill himself without interference. It was only a matter of time before he was going to resolve a Living Death type card.
That's what I tell people who complain about Meren, but a lot of people just answer "but I don't want to dedicate deck slots to GY hate, it doesn't help me win!"
So I've only seen a tribal Sliver deck pop up once since I've been subscribed, how do you feel about playing as/against them? I have a fully tribal Sliver deck which is why I ask, with the newer Slivers that have been added I wonder how perception has changed. For the record I don't lead with Overlord and tutor all day, I have that option but I tend to let The First Sliver command so that my game will feel less predictable.
@@RecklessFables where do you think Slivers fall in terms of power? I'm certainly no cEDH veteran, but Slivers can accomplish some pretty nasty combos. At least in terms of pure damage and survivability.
Thats how the mechanic works. She was in play to see she exploited something (herself). Now if she's removed by other means before her trigger resolves you won't get the tutor effect.
It pleases me to no end to see copy magic being used in a competitive deck. All my friends told me "stop using those spells they're bad," this is my vindication! *HA!* 😁
Sadly most of the decks on this channel are not "competitive". That isn't a dis. Sure they put thought into them and want to win, but anyone if these decks vs a "competive" edh would get demolished.
11:52 Kroxa has an attack trigger for everyone to lose 3 as well as the next ETB trigger. Also 12:55 an opponent can only lose as much life as they have so Grey Merchant only gets 6 (which should have been 3) from Joé, not 20
We've banned Sire of Insanity in our playgroup because it literally grinds games to a halt. People lose their hands and have to just top deck until it is dealt with. No surprise it did the same thing here.
If you have a webcam or even a smartphone (some programs allow you to use your phone as both a webcam and microphone) you can play EDH using those. Some discords communities existed already before the crisis (PlayEDH for example) but they have quickly expanded since then because of the whole situation.
Monarch just puts too much of a target on your head tbh one of the big reasons I went Kaalia > Queen when picking what mardu deck I wanted to build. That and Angles Demons and Dragons all United in a single deck sounded epic
Lol Monarch puts a target on you but Kaalia DOESNT? Thats funny. Honestly this monarch deck wasn't played properly either. He played zero cards that stopped people from attacking him.
No. You can go into negative numbers. You lose as a state based effect if you life total is 0 or less. You do not lose one life at a time and die at zero. You lose it all at once, then the game checks our life total. This is why Platinum Angel works. You can be -100 and still not lose.
Hi! There's a similar ruling which you can see on Gatherer for Exsanguinate, but: "Players can lose more life than they have. For example, say you’re playing a multiplayer game in which one of your opponents has 3 life and your other opponent has 10 life. If you cast Exsanguinate with X of 4, your opponents will wind up at -1 life and 6 life, respectively. You’ll gain 8 life."
To be honest, I love annoyingly unfun decks, if they're ridiculous enough. I kind of want to build one or two Commander decks and play again (I have stopped playing a few years ago), and one deck I want to build is Angus McKenzie. As in, my win condition is not losing and making everyone else draw out their libs. It runs all kinds of fogs and just enough counterspells to keep people from winning with combos. Anything else you may try to throw at me.
12:57: Julien would not gain the full 60, as he would only gain life "equal to the life lost this way". 46 life was lost, so he would only gain that much.
this was a bit of a sad showing. people weren't playing at their best it seems. kroxa is great but you cannot overcommit on a deck that obviously wants to fill the graveyard. Seb gave Julien the game as soon as he played that sire of insanity
