I love Charlotte's voice! She can sing chest voice and head voice so amazingly, and her voice is so recognizable, her head voice has this pretty distinctive sound💖 I think we need more singers like her
I love Charlotte so dearly. I loved her since we were both children. So many people say shes overrated and doesnt posses REAL operatic qualities. I say to hell with them. Her voice did so much for my 13 year old soul.
The opera world is very snobby and overly conservative. They never consider for a moment that at the time of this concert, Charlotte was only about 15 years old. While she did not have a 'full operatic voice', it's only because no voice, regardless of talent, is fully developed at age 15. The opera world doesn't like to see people performing classical music and getting popularity if they don't go through the conservative, bureaucratic pathway to being an opera singer. That is, they NEVER (at least to my knowledge) conduct open auditions or ever allow wildcards without any credentials to potentially embarrass them. They only bother to consider those who went to music or opera school. All those 'opera masterclasses' you might have seen on UA-cam can only be attended by those undertaking academic programs at the school where they are hosted. The teachers refuse to host masterclasses that are open to anyone who wants guidance on their singing, regardless of whether they can/can't read music, or even if they've had lessons. God help them if someone they hadn't heard were suddenly allowed to sing at a masterclass, only to be totally blown away when they are able to sing Lucia's Mad Scene almost perfectly. Not because they went through the system or had formal training, but because they got up every day and did countless vocal exercises and trained their own voices because they were unable to afford lessons and can't read music due to a disability. We can't have that now can we. Whilst Charlotte does have some vocal flaws, I'm not bothered too much. She's excellent when you consider her age. I bet those stuffy 'opera stars' could hardly sing when they were 15. It's time for the opera world to grow up and look at people in the proper context of age, training, and experience.
@@Empoweredwoman1234 you're not wrong there, but I think there's a lot of snobbery in all the music genres and that's been confirmed since working at the Oxfam music store in Southampton. I've had people whisper to me because they were embarrassed of their musical tastes, which is something I can't my head around, music is music and listen to watch you enjoy
I lived in South Africa at the time of this performance and heard about the voice of an angle but never listened to her sing. Thank you UA-cam for being able to do so now
The song has been through a number of transformations of style and lyrics but I agree with your suggestion that it renders better as one of loss or separation.
BEAUTIFUL, but i just lintened to the Amira Willighagen with the tigerberg children choir version . Okay it,s recorded with a sell phone, But OOOO Man that sounds sooo AWESOME OUT OFF THIS WORLD and BRILLIANT .
Amira should sing with this fantastic sound, arrangement and orchestra quality. She must skip throwing energy and time on all these fans arranged amateur events.

This is real music. It is so beautiful and feeds the soul with purity and wholesomeness.
You mean unlike rap music where they stammer on about shooting hoes and murdering each other?
My daughter can play this song on the piano and flute. I love this song.

Thats wonderful x
Those were my instruments growing up great choice!
@stehbar You cared to comment 🤔

this is a slow version very far from the original.... the original depicts happiness and excitement. the pleasure of love making. hahahahaha 2019

What are talking about Mr.?
You get it wrong, dude
yeah, yeah, done in English too. By Elvis Presley. "Only Fools Rush In".
Elvis - Can't help falling in love with you.
God's work in action
Nana Mouskouri still the best version of this beautiful song.
Amira Willighagen now best.
I disagree...Ms. Church does this song as well or better than Nana imo🎶
I am in total agreement with you
Agree. I like Charlotte but no one is better than Nana.
Wahnsinnig!
Teringat masa muda
I meant 1971 version
vous êtes pas mal
Oui, elle n'est pas mal, mais mon français est très mal
Je suis désolée
Clarinet note at 0:09 sounded bad, a hair away from a squeak!
Not coming a bit close to nana mouskouri ,s official version.
I wasn't even alive when this came out.
This is a actually very old song that inspired another quite old song from Elvis Presley that was release before most of use where alive 😁

This was written in the 1700's. I'm sure you weren't. lol
@@Tenatu written in 1784 in FRANCE by jean paul egide Martini PLAISIR D AMOUR !!!
Wise men say - Elvis Presley was inspired
Too opera-ish! Marianne Faithfull captures it best.
Band of Brothers anyone
Why is this song seems so much like cant help falling in love? is that composer copying from Elvis song?
Violins are made with horse hair.Don't use horses. They are being legally slaughtered 😢Animals are here with us,not for us.
Ok..but a Judith Durham she is not....
not sure she’s trying to be🤷🏻♂️
Yes, Sir! You can say that again. There is only one Judith.
Very cute, but no technique at all.
Troll alert.
CC at least sounds better than average squeaking trained opera singer.
She was 15 - what a surprise her technique was not that refined..
Chris Wright ur so rude
Terrible! It's a shame no one insisted that this potentially good voice should be given proper training, instead of this type of indulgent exposure.
Lovely Charlotte has perfect lucky lips and solid dugs.
